I won't have him lose, but if you want to have your character see him impacted by something you do, I am down with that.

Also, Manaegis doesn't have chinks in between the pieces of armor. The armor is by all means one piece, all connected. With about the same thickness throughout. The only way to get to him by normal means would be through the face plate slits.

I will concede to you that point, but rebut with this. The seems in which the manaegis needs to have to be able to move are only as small as they need to be in order to move. In this case they would be much smaller than a blade.

And as I was thinking about it, there needs to be a way that the armor is connected to the user. The manaegis is connected to each piece and to the user through thousands of small strings of mana through the same pores the mana for the manaegis was exuded from. The strings are intagible and as such can go through clothing without damaging it; only existing as a force to mind the armor to its wearer.

I will admit my story canon logic isn't infallible, in fact quite the opposite. I am at a concert currently, but I will try and expand on the innerworkings of the universe and how magic works in general when I get home.

I had a way better explanation. This is a world of magic so I'm not looking for any real sense of logic. My original concept for the manaegis was that the armor os entirely made of mana and is summoned /dismissed through the nether. In order for it to bend the armor simply phases through itself as the user needs, preventing a need for the seems altogether. Though it would take great skill to control it is possible to do so, with the armor adapting to what's needed of it.

Nah, I'm just going to stick with what I said earlier. The armor is attached to the user through mana ties. And the seems to the joints are the minimum size they need to be for the material to move without touching.

Most casual rps I have tried to join die early (Or get really full) so it's nice to be in one going well. Not used to writing a lot so often as I improve my more 'extended' rp writing. I've been on live chat post by post style rping where the content is a bit shorter but responses are faster and such before more often than RPGuild.

Appearance: A slight man with a young face, emerald eyes, and greasy ginger hair, Donny is without a doubt an unassuming individual. He almost always wears black pants and dress shoes with suspenders and black gloves, though commonly hides his equipment and features beneath a trenchcoat and hat. He always wears a tie, though the color and design of it frequently changes. He speaks with a nasally Downeast accent, one that most people find pervy sounding.

Abilities

Despite his baby-faced appearance, Donny is strikingly quick and strong. His physicality is comparable to that of a highly trained marine, as he consistently trains to stay in peak condition. He has over seventeen years of experience in urban combat as an elite mafia goon, with at least 172 confirmed kills. Though he is a capable hand-to-hand fighter, he by far prefers mid-range firefights. He is a true virtuoso with his selected weapons, and can hit a monkey in the eye at ninety-one meters with his .44 Magnum, the weapon he favors above all others. Such is his skill with the gun that he can fire off all six shots in a second by fanning the hammer, whilst still maintaining excellent accuracy. For reference as to the Magnum's power, the slugs can can rip through armor like rice paper and put a four inch hole through a steel cooking pan at three hundred feet.

He has never bothered with trying to cast a spell in his life.

Equipment

-Raging Bull .44 Magnum revolver with a Mernickle quick draw holster and seven moon clips (48 shots total) on his belt on the right side.

-Tommy Gun with two spare 100-round drums (300 shots total) slung over his back.

-Five pull-pin grenades with optional tripwires on his belt.

-Six inch switchblade in his pocket. It has a ring clip at the hilt base.

-Claw hammer holstered at his belt.

-Customized retractable high-density golf club made just for braining folks holstered at his belt. It has a ring clip at the hilt base.

-Fifteen foot razor sharp microfilament garrote wire reel concealed within a wristwatch that can be withdrawn via clip ring.

-Spring loaded five-inch knives within the heels and toes of his shoes that will jut out when a switch on the instep is triggered.

-Pair of quarter-pound S.A.P black combat gloves weighted with lead. They are fashioned from a high density polymer that can resist being cut by the garrote wire.

-Bulletproof vest.

-Can of FOX military grade pepper spray holstered at his belt.

-Portable six inch shaving mirror on his belt.

-Satchel holding four adhesive bombs, which can be remotely detonated via digital watch or set with a timer. Each bomb contains enough TNT to scrap a minivan.

-Trenchcoat with holes in the pockets.

Backstory

Donny had a typical psychopathic childhood. He was born in Bangor, Maine, his father a drunken alchemist, his mother a sickly stay at home wife, and his uncle a bastard rapist necromancer. He was often unsupervised, and frequently engaged in less than moral activities. He bullied other children, killed animals, and stole from the local supermarket on a regular basis. As soon as he got his driver's license, he stole his parent's van hit the road, moving to Las Vegas and with nary a penny in his pockets after using up the rest for gas.
There he found quick work as a mafia bookie, his audacity and ruthlessness impressing the bosses. He began as a goon and never switched professions. He was good at it. He favored physical means of dispatching targets over magic, which he has never trusted. Whenever he wasn't booking, he was killing. Any hit that was requested of him, he accepted and completed. By the time he was in his mid-twenties, he was locally known as "First-Degree" Donny, a universal killer and as far as law enforcement were concerned, a veritable one-man army.

There was another reason for his infamy, however. He had a hobby. In his spare time Donny wandered the streets after dark, a claw hammer hidden inside his overcoat. He killed lone women beneath city overpasses and in motel alleyways. Being a part-time serial killer in addition to a mafia bookie naturally solidified his reputation as a high profile criminal, and he is currently on the Most Wanted list with a reward of two-million dollars on his head. Every employer that has tried to double cross Donny and cash in on this reward has been found at the bottom of a resovoir with cement shoes and a hole in their temple.

He has since taken to accepting outside jobs from further inland, and is up for hire as a hyper-efficient henchman.

Personality

Donny is what would be called an ubermensch. He follows his own code and does as he wants, believing only in his own will and the cold steel of his .44 Magnum. He follows orders because he likes having something to do, and what he likes to do is cause trouble.

He is unbelievably crafty, and as mean as an Arizona rattler. He frequently feigns emotion and warmth to stay on just the right side of socially passable by modern standards, but he has no qualms about causing a scene. He enjoys smoking, but only does so before and after a kill.

It's not that you can't be a rabble rouser in this RP, it's that there is already a character which is basically the same as yours (minus the hammer bit) in this RP. So your character would overshadow his, because there isn't really room for two revolver-wielding, murdering psychopaths. (The other being my Co-GM's character, Nemo)

One is a bishonen anime flavored art lover that wears eyeliner and eats like a pig.

The other is a distictly ugly noir-esque serial killer whose interest in social or subconscious appeal equates to exactly Jack and shit, with Jack having ditched town thirty-six years ago.

It's like comparing Cowboy Bebop to Death Wish. If I counted magic blasts and mean streaks the same way, Zero and Donny would be the only characters that stand out.

It's not the aesthetics, it's the mass murdering psychopath part and the revolver part. Both of which your character uses. Plus this is supposed to be an anime styled RP, so your character isn't really styled for this RP. Nemo is a mass murdering psychopath, your character is a mass murdering psychopath. The group doesn't need and can't contain two.
