I guess there's nothing stopping Zane from following Nadia to Shadow Worth, but he probably wouldn't be allowed into the castle and forced away. I guess you could have a heartbreaking scene where they're torn from each other at the gates or something, but it doesn't seem plausible to me to have a male gem (or any gem not Reaped) around for the claiming. :/ Maybe he'll hang around the castle and catch a glimpse of her husband when they leave for his holding, but that won't be until the next day, as everyone spends the night at Shadow Worth before leaving.

Yea, that's about what I thought would happen. Zane's not going to try and get into Shadow Worth, once he says goodbye to Nadia he's going to move on to his trade route through Drakka.

Except he's a rather irrelevant lord from far down South, where nothing important, relevant, or mildly interesting happens.

So a middle or higher class lord wouldn't want to waste their time on him.

Valence's disguise is, you know, to be undetected and invisible, even if he talks to people. And even then, he's not talking to the important players- just some special ones. Or one, at the moment.

I'm going to assume you mean unimportant when you say "irrelevant", so if hes still an actua Lord in that case he must be a Baron (or the immediate family of a Baron) at least. Given this is still the feudal period, each Baron would have his title tied to a piece of land... This means that there aren't infinite barons... In England there were probably fewer than 150, iirc...) And even they were fairly important, they formed parliament whenever the king called it after all

Not to mention, if you are trying to appear irrelevant, flanking yourself with two massive men at arms is not a good way to do that :p

Unless you are using it in the terms of "Lord of the manor"... But they would typically be knights and if they were not knighted they would be Gentlemen, not lords.
