Welp, I just got here. From what I've read, I fully agree with Tex on this one, since he seems to have the exact same perception of roleplaying as I do. It's also a reason why I don't write as much on this forum, anymore, ICs or OOCs.

Unfortunately I feel like I have to, for this one and only time.

From personal experience, I think collaborations can and have potential to be healthy for a roleplay, as I myself have done it before.

Where the problem is likely coming from is the excess amount of them, in this specific one. Not only are they painstakingly long and most of the time boring to read, there also lies the risk of making someone feel left out/out of the loop, per se; we can all be adults and take it as you will, but anyone and everyone knows that feeling.

Oh, and to be frank, the reason I've made this mistake of accidentally missing someone's post frequently is because of the collaboration posts confusing the living shit out of me. I've just been really humble about it, and fixed it quietly for those times.

The issue with the whole too-many-collaborations thing is that while plot acceleration is fine and dandy in moderation, too much just really leads to even more confusion and more people feeling left out.

So what's my take on these collborations?

Lessen how frequently they're being made in this first place, involve more people in them, or simply put, go make your own collaboration on the collaboration site.

I'm here to write on Roleplayer Guild like I've done for years.

Take my word for what you will. That's the last I'm saying on the matter, criticize my opinion all you want. I'm focused on writing the actual roleplay, not small talk.

Also I do think collabs can be beneficial when there needs to be a confrontation or an important conversation of some kind. But they don't need to be done for every post.

For the moment it's just him and his sister but he will join up with the Dana Point group later on.

History:
Born and raised in Miami, Chris comes from a mixed family. His mother is or was of italian descent and used to work as a chef in a restaurant while his father was an english-american movie stunt driver. As a child Chris himself liked cars and enjoyed learning about them from his father, the same father that taught Chris how to use guns and how to hunt. But none of these things fascinated Chris more than music. He was listening to music all day. Especially rock. He had dreams of growing up and starting his own rock band. His father bought him an acoustic guitar for his 14th birthday and hired a teacher so he can learn how to play. Even the teacher was amazed by how fast Chris was learning. In that same year, Chris also gained a sister, named Lisa but unfortunately he lost his mother who died imidieatly after birth due to some complications. After high school and college Chris found work as a mechanic, in a car shop, and after spending 7 years there he decided to quit and open his own business. With help from his father, Chris opened up a shop where he was selling musical instruments, mostly guitars and also music, all rock and metal.

When all hell broke loose the first thing Chris did was to go home, where he found his father, now a walker, trying to kill his terrified sister who managed to lock herself in her room. With a heavy heart Chris killed his father with a kitchen knife and persuaded his sister to open the door. After a never ending hug, mostly from his sister who didn't want to let go of her big brother, the two started packing as Chris took his car stormed out of the city avoiding the main streets. As supplies were running dangerously low, Chris and his sister, well mostly Chris, started scavenging to survive. For a short while he was also in charge of a group of people that he found along the way and didn't have the heart to leave them behind. But they all died eventually and Chris and his sister ended up alone again. The last one, a 46 year old man, former cop, died by Chris's hand. The man tried to rape Chris's sister but Chris caught him in the act and slashed his throat with his KA-BAR, after a short fight between the two. Now the two siblings are somewhere in California. They don't have any real direction, they just keep moving because they can't stay in one place for long.
