Simulating a bunch of fictional characters and inanimate objects fighting to the death is a funny idea. Making all of the characters clones of the same character is a NOVEL CONCEPT, that is SOMEWHAT NEAT and at most a THROWAWAY IDEA.

The hunger games thing in itself is a novel concept. Its literally a novelty thing made for fun. As for useless bullshit, that's gonna happen. Its a dumb subforum with no actual goal besides being a place where people can just chill. At least it was somewhat on topic and in-tune with the conversation at hand, unlike every other time useless bullshit has come up.

Semantics of novelty aside, my point is that you guys came up with an even worse idea and latched onto it because it was (even more) novel.

I am hyper aware of people on the internet's tendency to try and build upon and innovate a common idea or joke in every possible direction to try and show how clever and unique they are. To try and have their own special thing. And I don't like it.

Like I tried to say before, I know that the original topic of this thread isn't anything special and I knew that I would likely be "undermined" by someone telling me that the topic at hand doesn't warrant my reaction.

But again, my reaction is about a general behavior, not Sasha Grey and You specifically.

I don't remember what I said about xyzzy, but it probably had to do with a lot of people being unfunny. Xyzzy also died pretty quickly iirc.
