BEEP!BEEP! BEEP!
Jessie groaned as the sound of his alarm clock blared loudly and incessantly on the small table beside his bed. One arm reached out from beneath the covers and blindly groped around for the sound of the accursed noise, only to succeed in knocking it from the stand. It clattered to the ground, still beeping. With an annoyed growl, Jessie opened his eyes and leaned over to reach the clock. He hit the sleep button and silence filled the room. what a way to start the day, he thought. With a deep sigh the boy feel back into bed and covered his eyes from the rays of light filtering through the blinds.
He got out of bed after a few minutes; he wouldn’t be able to get back to sleep anyway. Heading to the bathroom the boy passed his deck, a newspaper with the title ‘Who is the Moon Knight?’ written in bold print all over the cover and couldn’t help but smile to himself. About ten minutes later the boy emerged from the bathroom, clad in only his uniform slacks. The private collage he attended required uniforms that many students complained about almost every day. Jessie found them to be tolerable. He had attended a private boarding school in his youth and had similar uniforms, so it didn’t bother him quite that much.
Walking over to the wardrobe and pulling out one of his many white shirts he pulled it on, buttoning up the front but not bothering with the cuffs. He found a tie and pulled it over his head, tying the knot at his throat. Lastly, he pulled out the suit jacket with the school emblem emblazoned over the breast pocket. Shrugging it on he ran a towel quickly over his hair and left it at that. Quickly grabbing a notebook, textbook and set of keys from his desk Jessie made his way into the hall.
There was already a good amount of students milling about, even this early in the morning. Shutting the door behind him, Jessie set off down the hall. His class was on the other side of campus. Now that he was more awake the boy found himself very alert, perhaps more than an average college student should be. Up ahead where a flight of stairs loomed he took in everything and suddenly took a few quick steps forward. A group of students were mucking around and one girl was not paying as much attention as maybe she should have.
They bumped her, and she began to fall. However she didn’t make it very far before he was there, catching her with perhaps a little too much ease.
