Not much of a secret when Shiori knows, but I think it's in Kurama and Botan's nature to LET HER THINK that she's slick with catching certain hints they leave. Shiori likes to be involved and by golly they'll involve her as reasonably as possible. Let her feel smart!

Gotta get all the light out the way to make room for impending darkness, yeah? I think that's been our style for a long time now anyway.

I honestly don't care either way, Yusuke is probably fun to play cause it's Yusuke. I don't mind sharing though. And yes, imma be granny Genkai. I've been training for the day since I was 12. My time has come!

So I'm touching a bit on Kurama's insecurity about his own ability to get Botan to where she deserves to be as far as finding her potential and realizing it. Yusuke touching on how close Kurama was to her was the fanservice, with Yukina possibly noticing but not commenting on it. I didn't know if they got changed before coming, so if Botan is wearing her school uniform still, then assume that Yusuke just thought she liked the outfits and just HAPPENED to be trying to match Kurama lol.

I'm already working on a post now so I'll try to have it up before I hit the hay. We shall see. I assume we're staying at the dojo in my post so I'm not planning on skipping ahead yet unless you say otherwise. And yes, Botan and Kurama are in uniform still but that's okay. Hopefully Genkai can give Kurama a bit of a confidence boost, we shall see. Do you think we should have them stick around for dinner?

EDIT: Heading out to grab dinner with the fam, kind of in a sour mood, not sure if I'll be able to finish it tonight but a good portion is done at least. *grumbles*

Take your time. I think we can stay at the dojo a while longer. I think they should stay around for dinner, since that's a two hour trip there and back, so they'll prob be getting home later and Genkai may be a hard ass, but she seems like the hard ass to have you not leave without a full stomach, ya know? I hope my interpretation of Yusuke and Yukina were alright. It's not that Yukina is very hard to do, but I always gotta make sure I'm doing justice to everyone. I think I can do a great Kuwabara, but we'll see.

Your Yukina and Yusuke were fine though I can't say personally since I haven't ever had the chance to write them myself. XD I'm sure Genkai will be feeling grandmother-y to Kurama and Botan and I have a feeling Yukina probably does help with some of the cooking as well.

Thank you! The first draft in my head was actually Kurama wanting to talk to Genkai in private, while Yusuke teased Botan about how close she seemed to have gotten with Kurama, but I felt as though that was a bit out of character. I'm not sure if he was smarter in later seasons, because I know Yusuke isn't DUMB, but I think something like that was better saved from Shizuru's perspective. Yukina is too sweet and polite to pry in anyone's personal life. I believe Yusuke's little 'hunch' at the table did enough for the both of us, while you yourself had Genkai notice that the air between them was something different from being purely business-related.

But hey, not too late for anything.

I know how you feel. My mood can be fucked up by a lot of things, even worse when some idiot alone is the sole (lol) cause. If you were part Vulcan, please don't let that half write for you xP I need your mind as it is!

I hadn't been planning to have Genkai touch on the issue of romance mixing with training (her and Toguro didn't work out). But I could comment it. And nah, I'd say Yusuke is dense as opposed to dumb. He's a little slow on certain things but I think if he focuses and makes an effort, he can be pretty clever when he wants to be. Which probably isn't often but he is a kid, as hard as that is to remember given the anime's plots and subject matter.

XD Vulcan do feel but repress them...so I could probably make some good posts as part-Vulcan but...it wouldn't be very easy. God, I almost wanna see Vulcan poetry now. *cringe*

Toguro and Genkai were wildly different in ideals, so training together didn't separate them at all, only Toguro's lust for strength he didn't earn, as well as what I assume to be an incredibly long lifespan or whatever. Kurama would just point that out, though he does know what Genkai is trying to tell him. Botan is a sweet girl. His only concern right now is giving her everything he can so she can survive on her own. Any feelings beyond that are somewhat unknown to him at the time. Seeing as he did not notice how natural it felt to be so close beside Botan, I think Kurama's going to start looking at Botan much differently. Thanks, Yusuke~

Genkai just knows it's difficult mixing two dynamics in a relationship. Feelings start getting mixed around and she knows Botan isn't really into the whole 'fighting' thing anyway. She just wants Kurama to be careful and to remember he and Botan are friends first and mentor/student second, or even third. XD

Hey if Vulcans get hotties like Uhura...I wouldn't complain and neither would you. XP

Things will become complicated as the days continue to pass. Genkai is not only a master at mentoring, but she's also a master at keeping an emotional distance. She loved Yusuke like he was her own child, but rarely ever allowed him to see that until she died. Kurama, in the same position, probably couldn't hide himself behind a mentor persona without destroying the relationship they already have together. He'd rather be a mediocre mentor who keeps a friend than a great mentor who lost a friend. We gon' see~

Assuming whoever is writing our individual stories would let us be so lucky.
