Now assured that he didn't just stumble it an intimate encounter between two girls, Mike offered an explanation "it's probably because you're level 23. Everyone else has had levels around 1 to 3, with an occasional level 4. Plus you've got an interesting class; Heir to the Raijinken, so it sounds like you study some kind of martial art." Suddenly realizing how suspicious he sounded, he quickly added "n-n-not that we've been spying on you or anything. This is the first time I've seen you, and neither of them seemed to recognize you. It's just part of our power; we can see someone's name above their head along with their level and sometimes a class if they have one." Before he forgot, Mike quickly used Observe on her to get some more EXP for that skill

Stuttering, suddenly proclaiming knowing various things about her, and claiming that they could see 'levels' and 'classes' above people's heads just sounded completely crazy and was not helping Mike sound any less suspicious. If anything he was even more suspicious now in Sumi's eyes.
Mike Negotiation: 41 - 11 Negotiation + 25 for sounding REALLY SUSPICIOUS = 55
Mike sounded reasonable enough, but the way he worded various things and suddenly spoke while sounding very nervous. Sumi didn't know anything about video-games. She never actually played them, not that the Gamers knew this, so to her this talk about Levels and Classes was all just a bunch of crazy gibberish. So naturally Sumi wasn't buying Mike's sudden explanation of why they approached her, not at least without some form of explanation as to how in the hell they knew who she was. Of course Mike suddenly mumbling something beneath his breath, as he would have had to speak to use the Observe Skill and mumbling would be the only way for Sumi not to catch on, was also not helping his case either.

"For someone who hasn't spied on me, you seem to know alot about me. Start explaining who you are before I pound it out of you". Now her fighting stance was full, the yellow glow around her fists growing a little more intense as her name above her head turned red. The text above the heads of the Imps were also red, this signifying that she was now hostile. Of course she was also human and intelligent and she was giving them one more chance to explain themselves before she decided to let her fists ask for the explanation, and fighting someone nearly six times one's level was suicide.

Silas wanted to make a facepalm when Mike started to explain things. He wasn't very useful in these situations. He wondered when they will find a situation where he is useful in. Silas took the pleasure to explain it without making himself worry that he was from some kind of organization, or Sumi for that matter. "Look, we just discovered our power, at least I did, and now we're looking for others with the same powers. That's all, so don't make such a big fuss about it." he said and then looked at Sasha who just got up from the ground. "And I believe material artists weren't allowed to use their abilities for offense, but only for defense. And we didn't attack you or anything." Silas said, supporting Sasha who was right about her just attacking people without knowing what their purpose of talking to her is. Although he didn't know if that was the best move as Sasha might respond in agreement with that, or knock him on his head because she can defend herself very well.

(Forgot to add this, here it is).

When Mike used Observe, this is the window that appeared before him. He did not get a Level.

Silas Negotiation: 29 - 4 Negotiation = 25
Just discovered their powers? Only for defense and not offense? Sure that second thing was true, but it was true only under normal circumstances. Silas did much better explaining things than Mike did and it seemed that Sumi understood something now, her stance returning to an ordinary standing one as the text above her head returned back to being blue, which was a sign of her no longer being hostile. "If you only just discovered your power then you all must be Natural Ability Users with a more late bloomer ability..." She was back to her more shy, quiet demeanor now that she wasn't hostile or interrogating them, although it wasn't as shy or quiet as it was when Sasha first spoke to her. It was a little more neutral than that.

"And... if you all think that people use their abilities for just defense then you are wrong. You all have stepped into the Abyss without even knowing what kind of world you have entered". While her tone was not ominous, just the nature of the words were. "I recommend ignoring your power if you want to live... there are all kinds of people out there who have no qualms about killing to further their own goals". Suddenly she pulled out a notepad and wrote something on it, walking to Silas and handing him a piece of paper that had an address on it.

"If you really want to train your power more and enter this Abyss... come here... otherwise go back to your normal lives. If you ignore your power for a while it should go away on its own". After that she walked off without much else of a word, snapping her fingers and making the Pseudospace vanish. No one seemed to notice people suddenly appearing, which was probably the work of Gaia making sure that Pseudospace did not interfere in the lives of others. After the Pseudospace vanished though Sumi was gone, nowhere to be found.

"Well I've got nothing to loss then" Mike said "my powers are the only reason I'm healthy enough to be outside. If I lost them, I might just die in a few years. Hell, the doctors thought I'd been dead before I was 10. My life has always been in danger, and I'd much rather face a danger that I can fight against and prepare for. Also, It's pretty nice to be able to go to sleep with wondering if I'll wake up the next day" he added. Then he suddenly realized something "wait...she said to 'come here'......but where is 'here'?"

If she wasn't restraint, Sasha would have punched Mike on the head. The fool had just revealed almost everything about themselves! Sasha let out a loud sigh, giving up on the charade. Sumi, apparently convinced she wasn't a threat, released her. Sasha got to her feet and backed away. She checked her status window. No health was lost, even though her face did meet the ground at a considerable velocity. She cracked her neck, producing an audible pop.

Thankfully, Silas explained the situation to Sumi much more eloquently than Mike did. She accepted his explanation, and even offered a place for them to train. Sasha was immensely suspicious of the offer, but she was already glad the girl had not killed them all right here. She left after finishing her words.

"That didn't go so badly," Sasha said, rejoining the guys. She snapped towards Mike, glaring daggers at the boy. "God damn it, Mike! Your brilliant act could have gotten us all killed! Pay more attention!"

"Whatever. I'll just contact Ren now about what we found out. Maybe we can get back to killing Imps then."

While Sasha was scolding Mike about the matter of him being so... himself, Silas looked at the little piece of paper that was handed to him by Sumi. Before he knew it the pseudospace was gone and they were among the humans once again. Nobody seemed to notice that they had left, or appeared again. Silas himself also didn't notice as we was looking at the address written on the piece of paper. He was interested in training with her. He might get more work done than spending his time with these two, and the 15 year old boy Ren commanding him. He was a level 10 while he was a level 4, it just seemed unfair. Silas opened his inventory window and placed the piece of paper in it, hopefully without the other two noticing it.

"Possible." Silas said when Sasha said that they could go back to killing Imps again. But they had to contact Ren, something Silas didn't really like. But they were a 'team' after all, so on this moment he didn't have anything say about it. He was better on his own, or just on the side, but somehow it pissed him off that people younger than him were a higher level than him. He also didn't listen to what Mike had been saying as he had sunken into his own thoughts, only being able to hear what Sasha said.

Indeed, no one seemed to notice. Luckily they were on a sidewalk sort of out of the way of the general crowd as well. During all of the conversation between the three Silas attempted to put something in his inventory, which would require him to use the command and stealthily put it in there in a way that would not alert the other two to him seemingly hiding things from them.
Silas Hiding the Paper: 47 - 7 Sleight of Hand = 40

Sasha Observation: 21 - 16 Observation = 5

Mike Observation: 68 - 18 Observation = 50
Silas was stealthy enough with both his silent muttering of the Inventory command and sliding the piece of paper into his inventory for Mike to have missed it, but Sasha would have been able to notice Silas holding the note for a moment before it vanished from his hand, which was a highly likely sign of someone putting something into their inventory.

Lucian was busily observing anything and everything he could, seemed to him like Ren was doing similar as they hadn't really spoken a word to each other since they split off from the others. It also passed through his train of thought to observe Ren, to see what he could learn about the boy, and possibly if it showed different things concerning those who had powers or not, he just did that when Ren pointed out someone with a higher level, which startled Lucian a tad.

After regaining his usual composure, Lucian adjusted his glasses and spoke, "I don't see why not, if he is usually a 'good guy', then we shouldn't have a problem, we will just handle everything with proper negotiation," In other words, I'll just play it like a game, you just give the responses that should yield the results that we are looking for. "But before we go in, what is our goal, what do we want to know, and how much are we will to give for it?"

As Lucian took point to use Observe on everything he would gain a few levels in the Skill, which as he gained more Levels in Observe he found that he could see more data on people. When he used Observe on Ren it was Level 4, allowing him to see a little more data on the boy in a window that appeared before him. It didn't seem to give anything secretive yet, as that would probably take higher levels of the Skill, but nonetheless

"We mainly want to know about other power users and whether or not they are dangerous. And we only give what is necessary". Ren's plan was simple, see what info they could get and get out in case things got ugly. Sure this 'Saito's' class was only Artificer, but in this world that could be more than just a magic item enchanter, especially if this Saito was Level 15. That was five levels higher than Ren and nearly three times Lucian's level. Naturally they would have to be extra careful when entering this shop and when speaking to Saito. So of course with little else to lose Ren walked in, expecting (and not caring if it didn't happen) Lucian to follow.

As both Ren and Lucian entered they were greeted by a boy in a white hoodie with two strange cloth pieces hanging down from it. The boy was about to turn, but suddenly a ring on his finger he wore shined a small bit, as unbeknownst to Ren and Lucian, but at the entrance of the store Saito always kept a device that could detect those with power in anyone who entered and it alerted him whenever it did detect someone. He went behind the counter now where the register was, looking at the two Gamers a little warily.

"Look, I don't know who you two work for, but I told everyone else that I don't deal to anyone but the Auction". Saito seemed quite wary of them, despite the fact that the two of them really didn't appear all that intimidating. Still to Ren this was quite the change of pace from before.

"We don't work for anyone" Ren was trying to abate the older boy now, who appeared to be around 19, give or take. "We just want to know more about other Ability Users like you or us as we only recently discovered our own powers..." Ren really didn't know how to be sociable, but figured to give it a shot in this delicate situation.
Ren Negotiation: 89 - 28 = 61
Saito did not look like he was buying it at first, but then grew a little less wary of them. Still wary of them, but looked like he was definitely willing to talk now at least. "You guys don't seem all that tough judging from..." He paused there, shaking his head. "If you only recently discovered your powers then you are probably Natural Ability Users like I am, people who get their powers from Gaia. Essentially we get our powers from God pretty much". He sat back in a chair behind the register, looking at the two of them then at the ring on his finger again.

"I recommend though that you guys ignore your power and go back to your lives. While from the looks of things you have already developed your power past the point where it will go away if ignored, you guys are weak enough to where no one will come after you if you decide to live normally. You guys don't look like your cut out for trekking in the Abyss. This city is pretty much, from behind the shadows thanks to the Interference Law, controlled by four main groups. The Ban family, a clan of martial artists, is not all that dangerous, but I don't know if I can say the same for the other three". The way Saito spoke was like all of what he was saying was common knowledge. Granted it was common knowledge that Ren and Lucian didn't know, but still common knowledge nonetheless.

Ren would give Lucian a chance to speak now, in case he had anything to say as even Ren could tell where his lack of social skills was probably going to screw them up if he kept speaking.

Lucian nodded, "Thank you for what you have shared with us, is there anything else we should be warned about then? Such as what is this 'Abyss?'" He looked over at Ren after listening to his attempt to negotiate, Lucian decided it might be better if he gave it a shot, "Also if it was Gaia that gave us the powers, then wouldn't we have been given them for a reason?" Lucian took off his glasses, and cleaned them a bit using a cloth from inside his pocket, placing them back on he silently spoke, "observe" Looking at the ring on Saito's finger, he had noticed the boy look at it, and if it was so important to look at it, when two strangers with power walked in, then it must have something to it. Quickly observing then continuing like it was nothing, "Really I just want to know what I am getting myself into before I close the door behind me, I do apologize if this seems like a lot of questions."

Lucian Negotiation: 35 - 26 Negotiation = 9
Saito seemed a little nervous and wary about discussing the abyss with two people that should clearly be ignoring it, but maybe if they knew then they would have more desire to stick their noses out of it, especially with the neat way Lucian worded it. Plus knowing more about one's power was some needed information if they would be living with their power for the rest of their lives, not able to have it go away. Of course whether they would be ignoring it or not was something Saito wouldn't really know, but if they didn't it wasn't his problem if they got themselves killed.

"To answer your second question Gaia gives powers based on how we are. For instance someone who is a swimmer or almost drowned might get a power to control water or someone who really likes birds or the sky might get a flying power. Of course... there are those who train to get their powers, like Martial Artists. They are Acquired Ability Users" It was all common information, so Saito really didn't mind sharing it. "To answer your first though... the abyss is just like the yakuza or the mafia, only with supernatural powers being involved and a thousand times bigger. Essentially its like the underworld of the supernatural. Not everyone in its a criminal, but you can be guaranteed that most people who have supernatural powers, whether Acquired or Natural, use them for illegal means whether its killing or something else. They don't interfere in the normal world thouugh, as they know that they would die if they did".

It was alot to explain, and Saito looked like he didn't want to give that explanation, but if it was reason enough to make sure they don't get involved in the Abyss then it was all the more reason to explain it. After all Saito knew how frightening the Abyss could be.

Meanwhile though as Lucian silently used Observe on Saito's ring a window would appear before him, reading as thus.

After this window appeared, their not being a whole lot of info since his Observe Skill was only Rank 4, another one appeared saying that very skill had gone up in Level by 1.

After finishing his explanation though Saito looked at the both of them. "Is that all you have to ask, or is there something else? If not I recommend you forget this conversation and the Abyss. I can't guarantee that you will survive if you don't."

Ren shook his head. "That's all..." As much as he wanted to ask about the Imp Claws and Teeth he found he decided to leave everything alone as Saito probably didn't trust them enough yet to answer difficult types of questions. With that he walked out of the door, leaving Lucian in the store to either ask any questions he had for Saito or to follow Ren outside of the store.

Lucian nodded as he watched Ren leave, then turned back to Saito, "Thank you for what you have shared with us, it may make the difference between life and death." He started to leave, but as his back was turned, something that was mentioned came to his mind, "Actually," He walked back to Saito, "I do have one more question, What is this 'Auction' that you mentioned at the start? It sounded like it was the only thing related to powers that you seem to be okay with, is it not as dangerous?" He knew he should probably leave, they already learned plenty from this encounter, but curiosity got the best of Lucian this time round, and it probably would be dangerous to go asking many others with powers if what Saito said was true.

Lucian Negotiation: 55 - 26 Negitiation = 29

At the mention of the auction Saito's eyes widened a little, nearly cursing under his breath that he mentioned that. Well he managed to hold that in, but there were telltale signs that he did regret mentioning it to Lucian and Ren. He sighed heavily, shaking his head. "Im not ok with the auction actually. It is part of the reason why they call the Abyss the Abyss because of the name of the company: the Abyss Auction. Its essentially like any other auction except they sell everything to whoever is willing to buy, including human lives and even information. Im only involved with them for one reason...and no its not because I deal in death trades or any crap like that." Saito paused, sighed, and shook his head.

"Look I've told you too much already. You need to lay low and just ignore the Abyss and your power. Live your life normally. If you don't I can't guarantee that you'll live". Saito then suddenly pulled out his phone and looked at it, reading a text on it, and standing up. "Anyway you need to leave. I have to go run an errand and I am closing up the store while I am gone". If Lucian noticed Saito was the only employee working at that store. With great urgency he pretty much ushered, or pushed gently pretty much, Lucian right out of his store with great urgency, putting up a fight probably not being all that wise when he was nearly three times Lucian's level.

Once both of them were out he flipped the 'Open' Sign to 'Closed' and locked up his store by putting his Control Ring up to the lock. He looked back at Ren and Lucian, Ren having waited outside the store for him, before he left. "Remember, just ignore your powers. You'll live longer, trust me." Saito's words were sincere in the fact that everything about the Abyss sounded incredibly dangerous, which was why he was so reluctant to tell Lucian about the Auction, but figured if he knew what sort of thing it was then maybe they would leave it well enough alone.

After Saito left and Ren looked up at the man. "So, I take it he told you something else?" Ren was curious, but if Lucian didn't want to share it then Ren didn't really care. He had just finished discreetly typing a message and sending it to Sasha, Mike, and Silas. When sent the three of them would see a window, that was more like a PM, that read as thus.

Sasha wasted no time in opening her friends list. For a moment, she wasn't sure what to do, but a few trial and errors quickly landed her with the correct keyword. A holographic keyboard appeared before her when she said 'message Ren Hitori'. This whole system looked like something out of a science fiction movie.

we found someone. shes high lvl and told us we can use her place 4 training

Sasha pressed enter and looked up at Silas. He was standing to one side, merely looking blankly at her with grim expression. "So uh, where is her place? Didn't the girl pass you a note?"

Silas thought he had put away the piece of paper safely in his inventory. However his mumbling was probably too loud, or Sasha might have seen the screen go away again after he put it in. Unfortunately she decided not to ignore it. She asked him what her address was. To be honest he didn't want to share it. He wanted to get stronger himself, and didn't need to be in a group like this. Sasha is the only one of his age here, and although Sumi was younger, she was mentally more wiser than Sasha in his opinion. As Sasha was acting like a bossy bitch the whole time. But he had to come up with an excuse to at least delay showing the address to her. "I haven't looked at it myself yet. Let's open it when we regroup with the others. That seems like the best option to me." he paused. "Did Ren reply already?" he asked to change the topic.

"Yeah" Mike agreed "It might be better for us to wait until we're all together before we go, safety in numbers and all that" he added. "I wonder what awaits us at her place. Maybe some kind of special training ground, she is the heir to some sort of DEX based martial arts school if her Observe info is anything to go by. Oh, maybe they have a bunch of skill books, that would be awesome. If they do, then there's bound to be some kind of tank or support one there, there just has to be. Wow, first day together and we're making progress fast! This is awesome!"

Not too keen on being touched, Lucian quickly made it out of the door by the first incessant push, he didn't really have much time to get a word in, and thought it best not to as Saito was clearly a higher level then.

"Well, that worked out well." Lucian took off his suit coat to check and make sure that no handprints ordirt got on the back where he was pushed, "Yeah, I found out that he is hiding something, but it doesn't seem like it really concerns us," neatly putting his coat back on one arm at a time he continued, "Also that this Abyss has an auction system set up which can deal from anything as simple as information, tools, ect, all the way up to human lives." He spoke as if it wasn't that big of a deal, though he was certainly interested in it. "So it also sounds like we are all lucky to even be alive based on what he was saying though. If we picked the wrong person to talk to, we could have ended up dead, and even now, we could just from our encounter and the other groups. Speaking of which, what did they turn up?"

Ren listened to Lucian after he came out of the store and began speaking of the extra stuff that Saito told him after Saito had left. Indeed from how Saito seemed concerned about all of these things they seemed to be really lucky, stupidly lucky in fact. While Ren thought about what Sasha said in her PM about someone having offered them a place to train it made Ren a little skeptical. Could they really rely on other power users? Even if they were nice, what would getting connected to this world bring? Any normal person would have been nervous, but to Ren it was secretly a little exciting. Of course it didn't show on his relatively expressionless face that gave a few nods as he listened to Lucian speak.

After hearing that question Ren didn't respond. Instead he quickly made a short PM to Mike, Silas, and Sasha, meaning that all three of them would get the PM from Ren although only each individual could see their own windows. The PM that was sent to the three of them individually read as thus.

Short, sweet, and to the point. Without really much of a word to Lucian Ren began to walk away from the antique store, expecting, but again not caring whether or not it happened, for Lucian to follow. The meeting place was at Gekkoukan. Well not at it before, as the gates were most likely closed by now as it was already around 6:00 PM ish and it was slowly starting to get a little later in the day, but just near it enough to where they wouldn't cause suspicion in a gathering. Plus with their Minimaps locating them in a certain range wouldn't be too hard since on each other's Minimaps the Gamers would all appear as green dots to one another rather than white ones thanks to being on each other's friends lists.

Once Ren and Lucian, if he followed Ren, arrived at Gekkoukan he would wait for the others to show up, looking at them once he did. "Well we found out that we are all lucky to be alive. What about you all? What did you find out?" He would wait for them all to explain their findings before he went into more details on Lucian's and his. Despite how sarcastic or 'cold' Ren's statement probably sounded there was a hint of sincerity a sort of ominous tone to it, as if those words held a greater truth than the tone they were stated in seemed to show.

"Heh, yeah!" Sasha giggled. While she was initially annoyed with Mike's huge stumble earlier, she couldn't help but share his enthusiasm now. This was so much more entertaining than playing online games in her room every day. This was... what she was born to do. Destiny. Sasha chuckled again, a wide smile across her face. "Okay, let's go report to Ren again. Why do we have to meet at Gekkoukan though, it's so far away."

Although Sasha had spotted Silas hiding the note, she didn't suspect that he was trying to hide the note intentionally. The incident quickly slipped from her mind as they traveled back to the school.
