The Story so Far:
A darkness is spreading over the land. An ancient evil that was laid to rest is threatening to return. The Seven Goblin Kings can prevent it if they set their ancient hatred aside and work together. It is up to the Knights of Rexil to unite the Kings and lead the fight. After being given their orders by Knight Master Geoffrey, a trio of Knights leave the port city of Rexil to the mainland: a primarily goblin-country known as Aldrina. The trio is a made up of Ryder Montierro, a young veteran of the Knights and Geoffrey's most trusted apprentice, siblings Lena and Triston, the first of which is a small-framed woman that is talented with a bow and the latter is a hulking giant that prefers getting personal with his fights. Their voyage to the Forest Kingdom's capitol falls short as the ship is wrecked by a sudden and powerful storm while passing through the Dark Strait, named for it laying in the shadow of the massive volcano.
The Knights are washed ashore, having miraculously survived the storm. The captain of their ship, Nicholas, washes up with them. Together, the four set into the jungle to find the rest of their crew and some local help. Forced to brave the natural dangers of the jungle, they stumble across what remains of the crew only to be attacked by a pack of feral goblins. They are scared off when Morass, the Wild Goblin King, arrives with his men. He explains to the Knights that an evil curse is plaguing his lands and took his father's life. It is causing his people to lose their minds and attack each other. Despite their desire to help, Morass orders the Knights out of his territory and to the nearest multi-racial trade village on the border.
While resting and resupplying at the village, Ryder finds a notice from a group asking for volunteers to help excavate the tomb of the Dark Queen in the Jungle Kingdom. The only sign of the identity of the group is a black crow sigil marked at the bottom. Nicholas shares the story of the fabled Eclipse that once ruled over Aldrina. Her tyrannical reign was brought to an end after the Seven Kings rose up and a long war broke out. She swore vengeance against the traitors in her final breaths. After the story, the Knights fall under attack by a trio of masked assassins. They wear bird masks and robes that are adorned with black feathers. Two are killed, but the last uses the rare art of magic to escape. Exhausted from their constant troubles, the group assign shifts and call it a night. While sleeping, the crow woman appears in Ryder's room and whispers something in his ear. She disappears into the night.
In the morning, the Knights are rested and restocked. They set off from the villages towards their original goal, sharing their stories about how they came to find themselves on the wild adventure in the first place. During the stories, Triston notices that Ryder has been coughing up blood, but both keep it quiet. The Forest Kingdom, ruled by the wise Wood King Weald, would be the first stepping stone to unite the kingdoms and prepare for the coming war.
There we are Bella, I can't remember if it was your turn or mine so we can discuss that and exactly where we want to start when you jump on here :)
