Thought I'd make a CS if you're still accepting; still have to write the personality, but I figured I'd throw up what I have to see if it's alright.
Name: Syr'ybel Lyld'nn
Gender: Female
Age: 28
Race: Rath'kar
Appearance:
Gear & Possessions: The most distinguishing piece of Syr'ybel's equipment is her mask, crafted from under the tutelage of dwarven smiths. It is constructed from dwarven 'blue steel' with a gold overlay, giving it a vibrant luster. Its visage is that of a snarling daemon, with pointed ears and outstretched tongue. The rest of her armor and shield is made in the same fashion. Syr'ybel elects not to wear much protective gear, instead fighting in the manner of gladiators of old. If asked, she would say she does so to better immerse herself the sensations of battle and the blood of the slain.
The blades of Syr'ybel's thorn whip are constructed from prized rose steel, smithed by Forgemaster Olln of the Crimson Keep. If one were to look closely, each blade is engraved to resemble the head of a snarling skara wyvern.
Skills & Abilities: Syr'ybel is an accomplished fighter, as denoted by her membership in the Skara Hunters. She does not formally practice magic, seeing it as dishonorable to be used as an offensive weapon. She is not above using magical equipment, however, if it helps her defeat her enemies. As a result of her travels, she is a capable adventurer and survivalist.
Personality:
History: Syr'ybel was born among a nomadic tribe in Ryyz, which largely made a living from taking and selling slaves to noblemen and gladiator schools. Many of the human settlements hosted gladiatorial games as a form of entertainment, one of the reasons the slave trade has remained in such high demand in Ryyz. The practice also helped Syr'ybel's tribe gain considerable wealth, and many Rath'kar also enjoyed watching the fights, indirectly results of their handiwork.
The lustre and thrill of the gladiatorial games attracted Syr'ybel in particular. From adolescence she took great fancy in the spectacle - the clash of metal on metal resounded in her ears and the ideals of glory and immortality enthralled her. These games were not without rules, and it was rare for a fighter to actually perish, rather most walked away with minor wounds and bruises. But the fearlessness of death was alluring to all, especially Syr'ybel.
Spectating was not enough. As Syr'ybel grew to adulthood, she longed for the same praise that the masses heaved upon their favorite fighters, the rush of combat, the feeling of adrenaline coursing through the body. Her favor for the games was not unnoticed by her tribe, but the notion of a free Rath'kar fighting in the arenas came much to their surprise. It was not unheard of for freemen to participate themselves, although the vast majority of fighters were from slave stock. Although her people tried to dissuade her, Syr'ybel would not be denied, and voluntarily joined the Ebon Lash school of gladiators.
As a free Rath'ka, Syr'ybel enjoyed more personal liberty than her captive peers, although this distinction made no difference during training hours. With them she toiled and bled in the sand, working their bodies into the perfect killing tools. Months of training built her muscles into mounds of sinew, her reflexes into lightning and her ferocity akin to a sandstorm. She was permitted to visit her tribe regularly over the course of this time, which marvelled at her now warrior-like visage. Not forgetting her roots, she vowed to her tribe to win glory and honor in its name.
Syr'ybel proved talented and able of body, having proved in her first few fights that she was gladiator material. When the Rath'kar communities among Ryyz saw that one of their own was carving a path to greatness, they rallied to support their kin. Through her victories, she caught the eye of Skara Hunters among them, which offered her a chance at valor not only in Ryzz, but across the known world. Ever the ambitious, Syr'ybel agreed and was inducted into their ranks, having proved her capability in the sands of the colosseums.
Around the world she sailed, besting feral Elves and creatures in Kazul, nightmarish creatures in the deep of Dairon, and even dueling champions of Alderia. So impressed with Syr'ybel's Skara Hunter troupe were the Dwarves, that they gifted them with fine armors and weapons, rekindling bonds reminiscent of the Dwarven-Rath'ka Alliance long ago. As of yet, Syr'ybel had not properly crafted a mask for herself, focused on her exploits in the pit and in the lands she went. Forgemaster Olln, a dwarf craftsman of the Crimson Keep who himself had developed something of a following for her troupe, offered to lend his tutelage. The two of them toiled for days, forging a guise worthy of Syr'ybel's increasing prowess. When they had finished, Syr'ybel proudly revealed to her fellows a shimmering, daemonic visage, in representation of her predatory vigor. Olln had also imbued her thorn whip rose steel edges as a parting gift.
Syr'ybel still travels the world, seeking adventure and new adversaries to test herself against.
