for me, I dunno. I used to be a knife guy, but when I got to use my dad's hatchet, I just couldn't really imagine not having an axe. I could cut through brushes and such with a good axe than I could with a machete, and combat-wise axes have that nice balance between being sharp enough to slash while just heavy enough to smash. If I could have found a cool image Vera would be an Axe wielder, but alas.

Class wise it's a bit of a toss up. I like strait up fighters, but it's the way I fight that changes. Attack power is something I don't really care so much about as much as I do being durable but also fast. Yeah, not a combination that is usually achieved. But the basic idea was that i want to be a Knight who could do acrobatics. I don't care what his weapon ability is, as long as he knew which end was sharp and needed to go through thinks to kill them. To be fast to dodge and chase, but durable to tank and endure. Having a cool sword and knowing what to do with it is just a bonus.

Also that link really isn't working. Can't even link back to it cause I just keep getting the fanpop page...

Well, the image is a guy, but it is also close to being able to represent a woman. ^^ For me, the Beast-based, nature-based classes is for that primal interaction. The ability to tap into nature or primal energy is something I love, the ability to have a beast companion is a second key thing for me as well.

Then I will just post the link as a link. XD
Here you go.

Got the Link working. Looks cool, but that looks more like a halberd. I like big blades, like this one. Don't have much thoughts about being linked to the wild unless I'm playing as a guardian spirit, and even than I emphasis more on the "this is my territory" and what it means to owe the place rather than being some aspect of nature. If I play a hunter type, he tends to emphasis being able to stand against nature instead of falling in line with it.

I play all aspects of the nature/beast type characters. Eriil for example, doesn't like to fall in line with Nature, he likes to present himself a Predator in the Food chain, but as the Apex Predator over the sentient races. He has the Apex Superiority Complex. I have played Rangers, Tamers, Hunters, Trophy Killers, Guardians, Druids, and everything else you can imagine. XD

My hunter types tend to me more "We don't need your help" sort of person, though it's a bit hypocritical to say it's like that. My hunters don't just stand against nature; they attack it, turning wild life into game. Take from nature and figure out how to make it work for him. Soon this leads to a sort of industrialization where Nature becomes a resource. Course, sometimes I play the wild man, but even than he still falls under the former category; a tough a rough survivalist who has turned nature to serve him. He'd be the type to have a pack of attack animals or be much more savage than the beasts he fights, though unlike my hunter he doesn't have the power to defy nature. If a storm brews he still hides out in caves or under trees. But he'd find some way to get through the storm.

Aside from them, I prefer class types who are involved with creations. Metal Workers, Alchemist, Enchanters. A type that allows me to make what I need. Kind of like being Iron Man; not much professional ability, but their equipment makes up for their lack of skill. It also allows me to arm and equip others, so that they can become just as good or at least strong enough that I don't need to babysit them.

Indeed, I have had a Blacksmith or two in my time. I like them well enough, but I also like my Hunters, and I play Hunters like what you described as well, especially Fantasy Hunters. They always break down what they kill, use it, and monopolize on the Hunt.

In unrelated news, I FOUND A COOL IMAGE!

I think she's using an axe. The tags where I found the image from says it was, though I can't see the rest of the weapon to know for sure. Still looks baller.

As for the whole bustersword deal, I'd like to keep this rp from becoming too much like an anime. I always disliked the bustersword for various reasons, mostly because it was way too huge to even use. A larger than average greatsword which the Kuri can use better because of their four arms is absolutely fine but having it be like 40 kilograms is just a no. Hell, the kuri are probably just above average when it comes to overall strength compared to humans.

As for the Zweihander being used by vikings, hell no. The vikings barely used that thing due to the warfare they made which would make the zweihander useless. If they ever used a sword, they sought after teh Ulfbehrt which puts the Katana to shame.

The pic that Manofthenorth linked looks more like a poleaxe tha a halberd which was a mix of an axe, pike and a hook. Deadly weapon when wielded by a team of swiss mercs.

As for sword vs axe...THE WARHAMMER!!! MAkes armor useless as it bashes and pierces with either end.

Anyways, Dazed. your character is accepted as long as you change the greatsword to a more regular one over a bustersword due the reasons I just said first in this post.

And to those who are waiting on certain people that haven't posted at all in the OOC since they got a character up or something, just leave that character behind. I am really starting to hate unresponsive and silent drop outs that even if it's unintentional, it's annoying as hell when they can't even post a sentence saying that they are going to be away for a while.

It was needed I mean people come in make a character then leave for basically a week with no aforementioned reason. It's annoying as fuck, also zweihander is germanic MoN, not viking, so it actually fits most fantasy styles regardless. And now some Zwei facts

The Zweihänder swords develop from the longsword of the Late Middle Ages and became a hallmark weapon of the German Landsknechte from the time of Maximilian I (d. 1519) and during the Italian Wars of 1494–1559. The Goliath Fechtbuch (1510) shows an intermediate form between longsword and Zweihänder

These swords represent the final stage in the trend of increasing size that started in the 14th century. In its developed form, the Zweihänder has acquired the characteristics of a polearm rather than a sword. Consequently, it is not carried in a sheath but across the shoulder like a halberd. By the second half of the 16th century, these swords had largely ceased to have a practical application, but they continued to see ceremonial or representative use well into the 17th century. Some ceremonial zweihänder, called "bearing-swords" or "parade-swords" (Paratschwert) were much larger and weighed about 10 pounds.

And voila, haha, don't get me started on how wrong it is to say vikings used them btw even though witch already did. That was just wrong.
