This discussion is everywhere, so might as well bring it here, right? I'm actually looking into getting a new laptop and haven't been able to decide. I'm computer-savvy but I'm not the most knowledgeable about technology - if that makes any sense at all. Give me a broken computer and I can probably fix it, but I won't be able to tell you how.

So, discuss? :)

PC forever and always.

*shrugs because she doesn't have much else to contribute aside from personal preferences but will likely lurk in the future*

Depends on what you're most comfortable with, but if you intend on playing a lot of games, PC is generally a much better choice.

PC lets you play a lot more games, and let's you modify and control things better.

Mac's almost give you no ability to alter things in the name of being "User Friendly" which basically translates to being easier for those who know nothing at all about computers, but then a pain once you learn a thing or two about computers.

Though honestly, the much bigger games library PC has over Mac should be enough.

If you're computer savvy, I'd say PC is your best bet. There's nothing worse than approaching a Mac as if it's going to work intuitively, the way you expect it to, and it winds up only working the way Apple wants it to work. At least the PC allows you some flexibility in how things work.

There's no real point to buying a Mac unless you're familiar with them or all your other electronic products are also made by Apple. Macbooks have inferior hardware compared to PC laptops in the same price range and if you even do so much as open up the case, you void your warranty. They do have excellent customer service though, so there's that. Just don't touch anything.

PC. It's cheaper. It's got a much broader range of software options, including Linux if you don't want to run Microsoft Windows. The hardware is far more modifiable, you can cheaply upgrade a PC to extend its shelf life, or cannibalize parts from an old PC such as hard drives to put into a new one to save money when you do any significant upgrades.

Then you have Mac, made by Apple... A company that fucking evades paying taxes because they literally don't care if the government is no longer functional, so long as they're the richest bastards in the non-functional government.

tl;dr: Apple is run by slimy, elitist dipshits, and PC's are superior in every way software, hardware, and cost-wise, so why in the world would I ever consider buying an Apple? Especially since Steve Jobs is, you know, dead.
