@Everyone: Until otherwise noted, RP post delayed by up to a week while I deal with nonsensical site instability.

It warms the dark cockles of my evil heart to hear a player take responsibility for their own behaviour rather than blame it on something and another.

@GourmetItalia: While reading "fark" did amuse me, I would like to direct you to this informational video...

Also.

“Ay man, do I look like I'm worried,” the left machine gunner said. “Wid you, brother man, imma waste dese mofos.” I'm so confused now. I guess he's Jamaican. We have a Jamaincan gunner, mon, ya dig?

(Note: Obviously not a complaint about your post. I'm just highly amused.)

Also, one thing of note, normally the Kopp-Etchells effect only occurs in areas with high concentrations of sand, such as Iraq or Afghanistan, as its produced when sand is kicked up into the air via the propellers, then struck by them en masse, causing the shiny halo effect... But it's a beauty thing so we can ignore that for Rule of Pretty.

@Everyone: This post is going to be larger than I expected. Post delayed to Thursday as a result. (Also family shit, but best leave that topic alone.)

An amusing annoyance.

If you're going to use vulgarities, do it. If you don't want to use vulgarities, don't. Using impromptu, made-up vulgarities are generally just hilarious and awkward to read. It's certainly no game breaker, but it just comes across as bizarre.

Here, an informational video on the word "fuck".

I'm kind of tired of all the MATURE advertising in the 1x1s. I don't mind roleplaying it and I think the Mods were wise to put up some more info about being safe with wording however...I feel like since it was posted, I'm seeing more threads for freaky deaky than I am for actual story telling. Sure, you can marry both but I just wish not so many would float around the IntChks.Unrelated, I hate people who BUMP their threads within say 12 hours of making the thread or posting themselves. I think bumping should be reserved for when it's been say over 30-48 hours. People who keep bumping frequently really irk me. And it makes them look needy and rude, it's a busy time of year for people and things are expected to slow down, if your thread is still on the first page (or even second) you should cool off and go read a good rather than clog up IntChks.

... Actually, yeah. [2]. I've been complaining about this for some time.

Also, love Penn & Teller. Good choice.

Depends on the scale and what you're doing. I tend to like open RPs, but I've had some great experiences with invite only games. Normally, I just stick with the tried and true bar of entry to ensure the players are all at a similar skill level and motivation before starting.

This is the best answer because it does what all the others do in their ramblings in just one paragraph.

In all seriousness though? Whichever makes you more comfortable. I make public role plays but blatantly show personal favouratism towards people I know and can trust in terms of positions of power and limited slots. The "core" group, with anyone else tagging along and giving it a shot if they want to, and if they prove themselves, becoming part of the core for future role plays.
