"Surprising?" Adelfa echoed, unsure if he meant they would eat somewhere surprising or if his normal speed-limit driving was surprising.

"No, Calix wasn't that mad," Adelfa answered, happy to be out of the house. She wasn't aware that Blake was fixing her car, as everyone agreed to keep that a surprise. "Maybe we can go eat?" she suggested. She wished they could do something more fun, but her body was still sore and regaining strength.
"I thought it was supposed to be in eight days! What are they doing here now?" Akita asked, terrified of the images on the screen.
Adelfa had been bed written at home for a while, having been released from the hospital. Blake had been allowed to visit her, and despite this she was still punished for her reckless behavior. Adelfa got her purse together and went out of her house, bidding her family goodbye before leaving. This was the first time in a month since she had been out. "Hey!" Adelfa greeted Blake, shutting the door behind her.
"Yeah," Adelfa agreed. She couldn't wait for this war to be over, for the aliens to be gone from their planet.
"Yeah, let's go," Akita agreed, glad to be out of the hug that became awkward for her. "Gotta keep them at bay as long as possible."
"Oh yeah, I loooove the food," she laughed and continued to eat. "I'll be out of here soon."
"Good," Akita said, expecting the hug to be released by now. Maybe he was just really happy about their discovery? Maybe he was missing his parents? She couldn't be sure.
"I don't feel too bad," Adelfa said, although this wasn't exactly true. Her body was in a lot of pain, she was due for more painkillers, but it wasn't as bad as the past days. "Thanks for staying here."
"Oh!" Akita exclaimed, surprised. She returned the hug. "Washington should have those plans soon, huh?"
