I’ve been roleplaying for quite some time and in that time I’ve noticed a trend.
Elves are among the most popular races to play, with the familiar human running for second place. Dwarves are among the most unpopular, and I’ve seen people asking to play as an orc or other “minority”-race rather than playing as a dwarf.

Short, stocky, pig-headed, irrational people don't like to be reminded of themselves.

In seriousness, dwarves are the more flawed, more human but inhuman, less fantastical option. They don't have the easy familiarity of "me" to players (humans), but have the extreme virtues and flaws associated with people (greed and jealousy, blind loyalty, distrust of outsiders, stubbornness). Nor do they have the escapist power appeal of elves, who are more magically inclined, attractive, and overall better, often with the biggest flaw being they're too thin and apathetic to the inferior people.

One has to offer something of value to the average player. An advantage, or a novelty. If you made the dwarves cool, or necessary and important, or the cryptic last of their kind, players will eat that shit up. Dwarves have the appeal of being more grounded, less alienated, but they have to be given some credit or attention in the lore. If it's negative stereotypes with nothing to fill and compensate the paper-thin culture and characterization, only atypical players(or players wanting bad characters) will go for them.
If the player has gone inactive, particularly without sign of coming back, go for it. Just give credit to the contributor(s) of the original idea where it's easily visible.
Sorry for the inactivity. It's easy to skip writing, just 'cause the time I can do it is the time I need to go sleep. But I think I'm jumping back in, at least 'til college hits.
Wisdom had slipped away from the crew the only time a loud, fumbling, bizarre looking elf starved for a fight could. In the midst of utter chaos. The city was loud with the drone of bells, people, guards, and the crowd of prisoners easily kept eyes toward them. The moment the lines of a group were broken, Wisdom had stomped off to slash at a few guards and find a sword with a glimmer of relation to the one Bug-man had ruined with spit. Wisdom's hand still looked red and bloodied in the spots the acid had tasted.

There were no shops. Not with anything worth looking at. Most wouldn't patron him when they glanced his prowling by, the crushing grip on the hilt of the Oenann sword, metal skinned and wrecked with pock marks, the crazed eyes against the harsh head. This lead to a nice number of guards to slash at. But it wasn't long before he had to ditch the citadel like the rest.

By the time he caught up, the Prince's men had found him and hid him away - when they realized Wisdom's role in the scene, he ended up in one of the nice prisons that apparently all the others got - but the Prince - as well. The elf had spat in a young recruit's face and wrestled with the others, and even now held a grudge. The prison was nice, but the elf didn't appreciate being stuck. Particularly when the only entertainment was books.

Still, when the Prince released them - physically and legally - and made an optional offer, it held some promise.
"My relatives hate you, Number 7. You've killed people they know, hurt the whole elven bloodline, and hurt their pride. I'm surprised my...brothers and sisters..have put up with you for so long."
Wisdom's lips pressed deep creases up the hollow face, "It'd be an honor to help you. No way I could pass the chance to say I served the glorious Prince Mundhir of Eblistan. Just promise me a fine sword - preferably elven - and some good fights."

will be the only guide for my character(s)She appears to be a normal marine biologist except she dresses like a punk rock ninja, her eyes can find the weak spot of any foe and her hair is five different shades of red and flows like silk but is stronger then diamond, but secretly she is actually a half-lizardwoman.She is an interdimensional traveler who is the last of her kind and she will fight her enemies with the power to eat demons or to take the shape of anyone she fucks.Her friends and enemies call her Mechacaller Lovebird!Her constant companion is a sparkling ancient faerie who is also her father.Her favored weapon is a conscious dragonbone katana which will cut through any material.

Accepted. The universes need more half-lizardwomen punk rock ninja seapeople like Mechacaller Lovebird.

I wasn't actually going to make them lengthy, because most of them are self explanatory

Still all accepted. Very long bios. Abraham Lincoln takes up a few paragraphs' worth of text. Makes sense, he's the one with dragged out speeches.
I'll keep the political issue of who settles on your bottom in mind for the IC.

I'll get to work on my CS, but i think it's too long :/

Accepted

I'll accept it because its length impresses me.
This RP Will Die in One Page
`````***(---!I will accept anything.!!***---`````
Hey guys, I have this idea I'm working on. It'll be an epic badass storyline that'll be made up as we go with lots of mystery, glory, and salty burning tears. Your characters can be literally anything, anyone, and go anywhere (but if you leave the group, I will kill you off). Every player can have 20-(8sideways) characters. The genre will be whatever my faithful playing peons desire, all at once. We'll call it a "cross-over."
Japanese psychic girl, school girl, professional wrestler, changling, God, Fate, that Egyptian thing with a dog head, zombie, Zombie Ned Stark, Ender, Orson Scott Card, the entire cast of Guardians of the Galaxy, Azathoth, Typhoid Mary, Han Solo, Pan, Wesley from Next Gen, a planet's army with one mind, the Hulk, Pinkie Pie, Pewdiepie, Dora's backpack, a hat, doesn't matter. Make something. I will accept it.
Been too busy to post, but there'll be more free-time Monday or Tuesday. I'll see if I can get back in.
If I can't, I'll tie up my loose ends here.
LONGEST TUTORIAL MISSION EVER
I've seen way worse. In both RP's and computer games.
I'll get a post in tonight/tomorrow.
Thank you peeps. :] Much appreciated.
Rockette - 'S'all good, I'll put in the raw text. See if I can figure out the problem later.
Was using GIMP. It looks clean in there, and I think in the initial upload. When I copied the image to Paint and loaded it that way, it still had the same problem, too. So it might be resolution or the site. Or the image was actually already messed up, and just didn't look it.
