THE MORE AWESOMEST POTATO:

Let me properly introduce myself. I am Sir Spud the Fourth, and I have been a potato for the longest time ever. I never denied it to be completely honest, but it is only recently that I embraced it. Now I have evolved from a simple couch potato to a fully grown royal potato. A dapper kawaii potato. And I dare say, knowing that you are a spud, makes life a lot easier. Just chill and let everyone else care about all their meaningless things because at the end of the day you'll know: chilling is the way to go.

I try to spend minimal effort on things that I don't care about, and procrastination might as well be my middle name. But that doesn't mean I ONLY rest. Sometimes a 'tato gotta do what a 'tato gotta do. And if that something happens to be things I like, then you cannot find anyone better than me. I am an omnipotent being capable of virtually any task to a limited degree, and I am not shy to admit it. I may not be the MOST AWESOMEST in a thing, but I am sure as hell MORE AWESOMEST than most people are at everything. But hey, I'm not here to brag, even if I am probabaly better at it than you

THE DREAMER:

All those nights laying in my couch, I thought about the cool shit that I cannot do. That I cannot see. But I pictured them in front of myself like they were real, and that infuraited me. Then I found the Guild, and I lived happily after. I have been on the site for 2 years now, and I have seen many RPs, and played with many people. I wish I have found the site earlier, but I am glad that I've even found it. Now all those fantasies can be written down and my mind can rest at ease at night, without being constantly troubled by ideas.

When I RP, I love myself some good Sci-Fi or Fantasy. But hey I am filthy casual, I can go for anything with an interesting setting. I don't trouble myself on small details if the plot is good, but if you get somwthing wrong you can expect me to tell you about it. Some even go as far as to think that I am angry or something, but I am too chill for that. If anything I'm more of the funny type, so you can expect me to try and write some shitty jokes or post memes I found on the internet. Anyways, you'll see what I mean when we RP together.

THE ARTIST:

Used to be something else here, but I'm happy to say that it's replaced because of a positive change. I now work as a full-time 3D artist in the animation industry, churning out shot after shot for some of your favorite game intros and trailers. Can't say anything about them before you even ask, and even though I'm still new to the industry I love it and I already know that this will be my passion for a long time. So hopefully in a few years I'll have a proud portfolio of animations that were done by yours truly that I can show off to all the lovely people of the guild.

THE LOVER OF STUFF:

Now I may have hobbies like the above mentioned, but there are some more things that I love in life. Here is a handy list of things you can always talk about with me:

  • Gaming: This one I am quite proud of, I'm a serious gamer with capital G. Not as much time for it nowadays, but still true.
  • Music: All kinds of electronic music, but I am a sucker for Queen and Powerwolf. Or Breakbot... anything music.
  • Anime: We all have an Otaku in us, but it's bigger for some people. For me it's just big enough.

WORDS OF WISDOM:

Be chill folks, getting fed up about stuff is a recipe for disaster. You gotta learn to be patient and let things go, or you'll end up a wrinkly old man/woman with only bad memories about life. Even if you do fuck-all every day, you can live a content life by taking things easy. With that said, as always, stay safe and stay classy.

@LegionPothIX Wait, wait, wait, wait.

Why would the EOM use Warp Gates. Most of the EOM doesn't have warp gates, because of this exact reason. The ships use either their own FTL, or the inhibitors on larger ships.

The only thing that resembles a Warp Gate are the FTL Anchors used at the checkpoints between Sectors (like Iserlohn). So I struggle to see why we would be using such an outdated and unsafe method of travel.

But *sigh*, whatever, I guess I'll roll with it.
@6slyboy6 I am going to be largely infantry focused with 400 hoplites and 90 crossbowmen. Leaving 10 men to man the scorpions. They are not 'true' siege equipment and are operated by one man each. They are essentially just super heavy crossbows. They are not like the much larger Ballista more common in the dark ages.

Beleive me, I choose the siege guys, so I am fully aware what a scorpion is :D
Wow, did we quiet down fast, or am I imagining things?
@Nariata We shall see how the battles play it out. If they are anything like I imagine, your troops will have and advantage thanks to the small battleground. But not much space for tactics on such a small piece of Earth.

Which does bring up an interesting question. Being shoulder to shoulder with troops of other nations and races, how much would soldiers feel like they are safe with tehir comrades? Surely cultural differences have emerged just like in our world, where some nations or races inside the allied forces would hate each other's guts? Maybe add something like a relationship system so we could see who is more likely to co-operate efficently with which other nations? Maybe even at a random assigned by the GM? This is just an idea in my head, but I know that in our history, when people from more than one country are put into the same army, they might not feel too happy about serving with someone of a different culture. It could add an extra depth to this RP, that I am not sure how many players would appreciate, seeing how this was posted in the casual section.

Sector 14, HQ of the Grand Governor
12:16 Galactic Central Time

There was a slight knock on the door. The Governor looked up from a pile of holo papers and sighed. "Come in, the door is open." The assistant, a young man stepped into the room and closed the door behind himself. He slid some data from his own datapad onto the one sitting on the Governor's desk. "Sir, we've been receiving troubling reports from fringe world sectors about a strange new form of fungal infection that turns people into mindless beings. Zombies, if you would. However they seem to form bonds with each other, but we are yet to understand how it works." The Governor looked at the man with a dismissive glance and began reading the report.

A few minutes later when he finished reading the report and watching some of the captured footage, his facial expression changed. He was already tired from all the work, but these news just added a whole bucketload of more stress. He took his glasses off and started to massage his eyes that were tired from the reading. "Please, be so kind as to do some background search on any kind of infections similar to this, prior to the recapture of Sector 14. If this, thing, has been around for more than 400 years than the locals must have records about it." The assistant nod and started walking towards the door.

However he was interrupted by the Governor once again. "Please take this matter seriously. When we recaptured the lands of the EOM 370 years ago, we made sure to exterminate any such races so they could never pose a threat to intelligent life once again. We killed billions of hive mind drones, both biological and mechanical to bring about a total peace to the galaxy, without any race threatening our very existence. I hope this is just some infection, but if they truly are a new form of hive mind, we must spare no effort to eradicate every last spore. Until we are absolutely sure what this is, put the Militia on high alert, and double the patrols in infected areas. Make sure that all the soldiers wear the standard rebreathers, just in case." The Governor leaned back in his armchair and crossed his fingers on his stomach. "Now go, and bring me some good news. I'll make sure the SDF is ready if the worst happens." The assistant nod once again, and left the office. The Governor sat in his room in silence for many more minutes before returning to his work. Failing to apprehand a potential danger to sentient life itself would mean that he endangered the great rule of the Emperor.

Empty solar system

The sight of battle upsets the fleets of the Follocks. Two rivalling Pirate factions are attacking defenseless cruise ships, and are threatening to get them included in their pity battles. The generals of the Follock fleet are enabling their FTL drives, and are ready to jump away any second, but some in the admiralty are refusing to leave just yet. They hazard to wager that the civilians could be saved if the Follocks intervene with the conflict. They have been watching the events in Sector 17 unfolding ever since they arrived to this region of space, and the more rebellious factions have always wanted to help establish a more peaceful universe where all life is equal. The admirals of these factions are now discussing the plans in the Great Vessel.

"So you have decided to go through with your plan after all?" The Chief looks at three commander standind in their ironed unifomrs on the other side of the holodesk, their 4 arms crossed behind them. They nod in unison and put their medals on the table in front of them to show their resignation. The Chief shakes his head and looks at the three Admirals with great sadness in his heart. His insectoid face conveys no emotions, but here is a great pain striking at his soul. "Keep the medals, so they will remind you of your true reason for helpig these factions. Peace must be achieved, less the Galaxy wants to end in war. You must always be there to remind those around you that conflict is not the right answer to sorrow." The admirals nod and put the medals back on their chest and bow in front of the chief as sign of respect. "Now go, and take some of our reserve ships. A dozen Longboats should suffice to bargain for the civilians."

Some minutes later

The main fleet soon jumped away, and held a great feast to honor the three admirals who left. As the events escalated near them, the three Follock Admirals began to accelerate their Longboats towards the cruise ships. The transport ships weren't armed, but the dwarfed the shios carrying the civilians, and the small pirate ships appeared to be specks next to them. Their armor would not break on the Gargan on Relican weapons as they were made to sustain an eternity in space. They had only minimal crew to sustain it, but they were all hardened veterans who have been operating these ships for years, and fully committed to saving innocent lives. As they approached visual range, the Admiral leading the front ship began to broadcast on an open channel, hoping to end the conflict for now.

"Gentleman, this is Admiral Vice speaking. Your continued efforts at destroying our galaxy have left us no choice but to intervene. Your goals may be noble, but your actions speak about a different truth. We ask you to spare the innocent civilians and let them go, in exchange for our help. We are aware that you are in dire need of ships to fight the EOM, and we would gladly provide the ships we have brought with us for your cause, but you must let the cruise ships go. Ships for the humans, how about that?" Vice was aware of how gullible he sounded, but he had no other choice than to get straight to the point if he wanted to minimise casualties. He didn't understand why the two races with similar interests would try to kill each other in the first place, but he didn't want the humans to be involved. Before he began accelerating towards the pirates he spoke up again to threaten them. "If you open fire or try to board us, we will make sure to give your locations to the EOM forces who will surely find your fleet no match for their fleet power." He ended the broadcast and hoped for the best possible outcome.

This is the closest I can get to portrait the Imperial ships for you, and I am honestly surprised that such a close match in desgin exists. I love these flat capital ships, and some of the more Halo like smaller frigates, but I generally go for the look above when I imagine scnese in my head.
@6slyboy6 Oh cool! That is somewhat close (very close) to what I had in mind for my army actually. I envisioned them having higher quality armor and weapons (at least higher quality in the area they will be coming from) but with only basic training and very little experience in combat. Though through their devotion, and their cultures ways, they will fight harder than any other rabble around.

That does sound similar to the premise of this RP but if you look at when The Rise of Domrius was first posted, it was way back in 2014 while the release date of Tyranny was 2016 :P

*gasp*

Maybe the developers of Tyranny were part of this RP! That must be it! There is no other answer

I dig your idea of giving motivated conscripts good gear, it will be interesting to see how that works out in battle.

@Nariata Oh well, the Tyranny game features a similar setting, where the protagonist is a commander of "The Empire" and they must eliminate a large group of remaining "Allied" troops stuck in a Canyon.

As for your group, the Empire has two main factions, the Blood something something, and the "We are the elite hurr durr" guys who quarrel between each other non stop. The blood guys are basically fanatical conscripts with no equipment, only faith in the emperor, and the elite guys are jsut that: super geared elite guys.

And yet again for the setting, the Emperor issued some kinda order which would bury the whole canyon in rocks in like a month or so if the player failed to kill the Allies (can't remmeber, played so long ago), so technically the enemy would be still guaranteed to lose. And we are kinda playing as them.

This might just be total speculation and coincidence, but the similiarities in both settings are eerely similar. Of course I don't mind, Tyranny is flipping awesome.
@Bright_Ops I was thinking along the lines of "If we have to flee and save my babies, I might as well put them on mobile platforms". But yea, it was just a wild idea. My actual machines could hardly fit on any elephant.
@Legion02 I am quite happy with that post. I have to be honest, it made me smile. Mostly because it just triggered one of the hidden events that I told you about. You will see the results later, once you fight for Raria.

And you just gave @Sophrus a nice emergency signal to respond to, and meet with your faction. Ah, I love family reunions. That reminds me, of our vote, so I may incorporate this post into your meeting with the Follok.
