I'm literally so confused by timeline and family trees now.

:) I'll make you a pretty family tree as soon as I have the names and faces of the ill king, the crowned prince, and the youngest prince.
@AAB

Sorry! I didn't mean for there to be such a mix up. The Aunt princess would most definitely be born before the King ascended. Also, since the rp is planning to start the morning before the king is murdered, I plan to make a smaller CS for him. You can name the deceased Queen if you like.

If we go with the plan you have for your character's father to be alive, only if he went to another kingdom would that mean that she would get to stay at the castle. There could be even the smallest chance for the girl to have magic power and he couldn't let her go out of the country unless he was certain she didn't have any power, which he hadn't met her so he didn't know.

Besides that, this is also medieval times, so teen pregnancy is really nothing at all, but whateves.

EDIT: Also, the niece is brought specifically because the King believes he has no alternative.

Okay. I wasn't sure how medievally it was since it has fantasy elements too, but thought 16/17 would be a good marriage age, whether 13-15 was or not. And with this in mind, having my character be a bit younger than I originally had in mind would be better.

Yeah: my idea was that the father was an irresponsible fellow who wanted to escape the responsibility of raising a child, so when he saw a way out, he took it. But working in Adrian insisting they take in the girl would help give the story credibility, and it would also mean my character would probably have a good relationship with her uncle (which would give her grandmother hope that the granddaughter wouldn't entirely accept the rumors).
Your version could work. I mean, remember that Lucrecia is not as the rumours say and she'd probably offer shelter and magic teaching if word came of the mistreatment.

But my character never knew her mother, who loved Lucrecia. So she'd believe the rumors. :)
<Snipped quote by AAB>

Entirely your choice. Although the close shave seems delightfully funny. Also if she's as old as Adrian, she would look older than her own mother. :P (Lucrecia doesn't look past 30... her actual age is probably counted in centuries.)

The idea I had was that the witch queen had three children: two boys and a girl. And The girl was always a bit quirky, which had her brother convinced she had inherited magic from her mother, so as soon as he was in power he had her sent away to a remote summer house or something so if she did manifest as a witch she wouldn't be at the center of things. But at age 17 (I guess, since Adrian is 36 and I don't want her to have had a kid at younger than 17, and that way my character can be almost 20 [though I intended for her to be about 22, so maybe having the girl as a non-twin between the two boys would be best, depending on the age of the crown prince]), the princess became involved with the second son of a noble who lived nearby. And she died in labor, giving birth to a daughter. The young father swore that they had married in secret before the baby was born, and the king accepted the claim, as a legitimate niece could be useful, whereas an illegitimate niece was just shameful, and at least the father was from a respectable family. But the young father went off to another kingdom to manage some of his father's enterprises there, and willingly relinquished any claim on the baby. So her uncle took her in, figuring he may have overreacted at expecting his sister was a witch (and maybe experiencing some remorse at her death) and that there was no harm in keeping a close female relative for potential alliances.

(It seems I've typed out a section of my character sheet, provided it's not rejected by the GM.)
I'm not sure what you meant by "close shave."
I find it ironic that Lucrecia's son, the King, treated so badly her memory and kin just because they could have magic powers. When said powers saved Andromalius, the previous king from defeat several times. I mean, retainers and superstition could fear her and resent her, but himself? I doubt Lucrecia would even hit her son once. (Well maybe on the butt when he was misbehaving).

The whisperings of peers could be at the root of the king's distrust toward his mother.

What about the birth order for her daughter? Do you have any preference? She shouldn't be too much younger than her brothers since I plan for my character to be the oldest of her generation. Yet having a boy first would probably be less worrisome than having a girl first, and I think it would be good for Lucrecia's position to have been stabled somewhat by providing the king with an heir before any suspicious daughters. So...maybe my character's mother could be born between the two...or be twin sister to Adrian @Sarcelle Renard, but younger twin or older twin? (I'm thinking older. Like, "Oh, oh - there a girl. ...phew, there's a boy too." [Sexism is so fun.])

Edit: Aime specified that the girl be born after her brother ascended to the throne. Maybe that's not necessary though? 'Cause then she'd be 20 years younger than the old king and it would have to be a teen pregnancy for my character to be of marrying age, and I don't want that to be the case.
Ooh, I like the offered loophole! :D I think it means I get to name more family members. That's always fun.
And to be betrothed and banned from associating with young men (besides her cousins) fits the idea I was considering to play a character who's attracted to boys, as that would be a good envelope-pusher for me.
I guess I'll work on my character sheet (and family tree) in a couple of hours when I get off work.
(Did you have any name in mind for the deceased king or his deceased wife (or any other deceased members of the royal family, for the family tree?)
@AAB
The queen mother would be grandmother to the crown prince, so there -should- be no issue with having a full blooded sister for them if that is what you wish! However, I am not the GM, so you'll have to wait for Aime's okay first!

:) Actually, what I would like most is to be half-sister to the second. Whether I'm half or full sister to the first I don't have a strong preference on.

(I don't usually use anime pictures. Do you know of a good source I could look through to select from?)

Does this means that the royal princesses (who are her grandaughters) can have magic if they wish to, and they'd be unopposed? XD

Ooh, I just saw this.
My character would be a responsible princess. In reading more about your character, I wondered whether mine might have a love/hate relationship with her grandma. And if my character realized she may be capable of magic, it would probably frighten her. (And whether or not my character has sisters or cousins, unless the king had an older sister who had a daughter at a young age, my character would be the oldest granddaughter of your character.)
I'm interested in participating.
According to the first post, you have no princesses yet? I'm interested in playing as the older half-sister to the princes, the daughter of the king's first wife who died. (Maybe the full sister of the crown prince [probably not; it looks like the queen mother would rather have both sons] and the half sister of the second prince?) Or as the full-blooded sister. Or as the king's sister's daughter. I'm not picky. And I would say whether my character is betrothed or not is up to the GM.
I also like family trees and would probably end up making one if involved.
