Bio

Salutations fellow Guild members, I am Absolute Grace, or just Grace for short.

I am a 23 year old female from the Land of Oz (Australia) and am currently a Graphic Designer.

I love writing, there is just something about weaving words together and creating a world, that I find to be completely invigorating and calming. I hope to improve my writing and one day publish a book or two, which is why I joined the Guild. I have been part of RolePlayerGuild since before the calamity known as Guildfall and have nearly ten years of experience as an RPer. Thus, I prefer writing at a High Casual to Advanced level.

Hola!
You pose quite an interesting question. I hadn't thought about incorporating other creatures into the rp. They would be of a lesser threat than dragons, though I suppose it is always an option.

I was however, contemplating classing dragons into separate categories:
Domestic Dragon Subspecies
Regular Dragon Species
Element Based Dragon Species
Gigant Dragons
etc.

“The past is history, burnt embers and dust.”

The nation of Vankinore, a place where the sun rarely makes an appearance from behind the cover of clouds. Marshlands are numerous and the only respite from flooding is in the mountains which cover majority of the landmass. It is in these mountains that Vankinore had found its wealth. Once known as an inconsequential and dreary country full of drunkards, recluses and the occasional native islander, it was very quickly renowned as the greatest hub of gold and gem trade of all the Known Continents.

However, nearly six hundred years ago, the ruling family grew greedy in their grandeur and sought even rarer treasures which were rumoured to be buried deep underground. The mines dug ever deeper, but despite the miners best efforts, no gold nor treasure of any kind could be found. Eventually, the discovery of a tunnel system was made. Each tunnel was massive and near perfectly rounded. News of the tunnel system eventually made it up to the mines entry, but no further communication to the deep miners could be made.

There was only silence…

and then, from the depths of the mountains emerged scaled beasts, appearing like those depicted in ancient legends.

Dragons.

With keen senses, slitted eyes, armour like tenfold shields, teeth like swords, claws like spears, wings matching that of a hurricane and a breath of death, the beasts wrought havoc on the royal city. In a single day, the once thriving city of wealth became rubble and ash.

To combat these creatures, a slaying guild called Dragon Sodality was created.

The members of Dragon Sodality all wear dragonscale armour which is lightweight, manoeuvrable yet incredibly strong against all manner of dragon fire and cannot be penetrated by normal iron forged weapons. A member of the guild will only use weapons constructed out of Dragon teeth, horns and talons etc. since they will assuredly always cause a dragon damage and ultimately lead to its defeat.

The guilds first Master and creator was a man known as Deron Orion, who was a simple woodsman until coming face to face with a dragon. Armed with only an axe and a dagger, Deron confronted the beast as it tried to attack his family. Unfortunately, both iron forged weapons failed to impair the dragons hide and so, with only one option left, Deron lead the creature away from his family and into the rocky mountains. Pouring rain made footing difficult for both man and beast.

In one instance the dragon lunged forward but slipped at the last second, causing it to miss its target and break off a horn as it crashed into a cliff face. Seeing the appendage and it’s pointed edge, the woodsman quickly picked it up and armed himself with it. When the dragon lunged a second time, Deron ducked down and lifted the make shift weapon. Dragon sailed bare inches overhead and as its horn made contact with its under belly, a great gash opened up and out poured heated blood and internal organs.

The simple woodsman was thereafter known as Vankinore’s very first Dragonslayer.

“The present is always with us wherever we go…”

The recent age of slayers, some of whose bloodlines date back to vankinore’s incorporation into the Known Continents, have began to display enhanced attributes in strength, agility, senses, stamina or intelligence. Those with more than one of these attributes, however, have also displayed strange physical changes such as patches of almost scale like skin, pointed ears and/or sharpened teeth.

It is a never before seen occurrence,
but some believe that it is the Dragon’s Curse and others feel that it is the inevitable effect that all Slayers will face.

I am looking for:

  • Co-GM, who will be super dedicated, help with creating the plot, suggesting concepts and answering questions from players if I am not around. If you would like to apply for a role as Co-GM then do so below. Otherwise I am happy for everyone to be a co-GM.
  • 5-6 COMMITTED players. If there is a lot of interest, then I may have to select the people/characters who I believe will suit this particular rp the best.

So, have I tickled anyones fancy? Anyone interested in joining such an adventure?
Questions and suggestions are welcome.
Finished.

Hey guys, sorry but I am going to have to drop this one. I have no idea what to write and anything less than two well formed paragraphs will physically hurt me to post. Sorry.

I hope you guys continue to enjoy this adventure. I bid thee farewell :)
Dulled hazel eyes looked away from the half empty shelf in front and darted to the left and right. A pleased smile quirked pinkened lips and suddenly a new small stack of books appeared in her arms from the box at the bottom of the ladder.

It truly could have been possible that she was the only one in this whole world who was masquerading as something she was not. Surely there were others like her out there, though finding out would no doubt lead to her discovery by humans and that was one thing that she did not want. They would probably kill her. Or worse.

Hiding really wasn’t part of her nature and it made it seem like she was ashamed of what she really was. It wasn’t true though, her kind were powerful and had always been revered by humans who sought them out. At least they had been, until they decided to leave this plane of existence and fade into myth.

She placed another book on the shelf. Perhaps I should pay them a visit? They couldn’t possibly still be angry with her. After all she deserved a chance to see if their stories of humans were true. Times had changed since some of her kind had been trapped in gold lamps and enslaved by humans to do their bidding. Couldn’t bygones be bygones?

The next book found itself in place beside the previous one, however, her eyes were drawn not to her task, but to the faded scar on her forearm. It had been many decades since she got it, but she still remembered the sneers, the fire and the pain.

“Mackenzie! There you are, I have been calling you fer hours.” A breathless gangly voice spoke up from the end of the isle, where an old man stood with a risen brow.

“It’s Melanie.” She corrected, not for the first time.

“Now then Mackenzie, why don’t you go see if you cant help our customers?”

“But there isn’t-“ Why she continued to try and get a word in anymore was a mystery even to herself. Though, she couldn’t deny that it was fun to try.

“Good girl, I’ll leave you to it. It’s time to change my socks.”
@LadyTaleAwesome! And I definitely don't mind being called Grace. I'll be sure to call you Tale in return.
Character posted. I wasn't too sure of the timeframe, but I guessed it was modern. Anyway, if I need to fix anything let me know.
Name: Melanie Najma
Age: Seems to be in her early twenties, but close to her 70th year.
Gender: Female
Species: Marid Djinn (The Blue Djinn, adept water element wish granters.)

Appearance: With close to 70 years of experience, the human guise that Melanie uses is near perfect. Her current form consists of hazel eyes, a slightly tan yet pale complexion and auburn hair. She stands at exactly 160cm and weighs around 50kgs. Melanie’s Marid form is sized much the same as her human veil, though coloured in hues of blue with iridescent eyes. Her outfits are usually bohemian styled, but she is mostly found in a white dress and embellished sandals.

Personality: Having quite the dynamic personality means that Melanie is excited by change and adventure, able to adapt to new situations and environments easily. However, she mainly exhumes an air of serenity which some may confuse to be hubris or even shyness.

Powers/Skills: Just the normal things associated with the Marid. Teleportation, shapeshifting, invisibility, water manipulation and wish granting(only if captured by a human). Melanie is still young so this means that she isn’t as powerful as the elder Marid and her skills have some limitations.

Other: Melanie works in an old bookshop that hardly gets any customers. The owner is an elderly man who is half blind and quite possibly deranged, though she finds his antics to be rather endearing, despite finding most humans to be incorrigible brutes.
Hey @Polyurethane, I don't know for sure and I apologise if I am wrong, but I do think that there is indeed room for you :)

I just felt bad to see you waiting so long. Timezones are crazy things.
