Brey, Back Home It would now be time for Brey to create what would be his somewhat most powerful creation so far. A Ring. No. The Ring. The Ring Of Archmagi. Brey decided that he needed to weaponize his knowledge. Knowledge is power. So knowledge as a weapon would be powerful indeed. "Ah naal nathrack, uthe bebethutte, doth el envay." Brey cast this spell, a strong spell. Moments passed, Brey's enchantment infused the metal ring with an unusual energy. This power would allow it's wielder to utilize spells with greater ease and less effort expended. Brey was not quite a warrior god yet, so he may have been smart to create an amplifier for his magical powers. Perhaps with this new found strength, Brey could protect his people.
Meanwhile, before Brey would have to fight, however, he would respond to the letter he had just received from Xavior. "I am unfortunately unable to respond to your offer for now. I have just returned from a little journey from home and cannot fulfill my obligations in this matter, yet."
Brey creates a magical ring on returning home.
-5 Might to create his signature artifact, The Ring Of Archmagi. Possessing the Ring strengthens all 0 might simple spells into an equivalency of a stronger version of the spell (1 or 2 might equivalency)
Brey Brey decides he will leave the new Node lands to the wilds. He recreates the forest, hill, mountain, plains and streams biome of his original Node. He bothers to raise the people out of barbarism to at least have simple cavern dwellings and flint napping, with abundant wild life to hunt and perhaps large gardens. He has more important plans to attend to. His headquarters needs sprucing up. When he makes his way home, he has something quite important to do. Unfortunately his renovations for Node 23 will have to wait.
Brey claims Node 23 and improves the land without spending any of his power. Then he returns to Node 22
0 Might to create lush vegetation and increased fertility for game and fishing, and "raising" the tech level to 0.
Brey Before receiving Xarion's plea for a trade of technology and magic, he had decided to make his way towards Node 23. He would need to protect his people. This was his chance to do work that would make it easier to do so. The old man god thought of his life among the mortals. He was their friend. Sure, he was smarter and stronger, and more powerful in general, but that didn't mean that he was better. He knew his own arrogance. Sometimes he did have a superior, smug attitude, but maybe he could work on it. His memories moved to the time he made his brightest student wear a pointed dunce cap in order to denote him as mentally deficient compared to the others.
He made amends with Duncan, but the deed was done. He shouldn't have taken his frustration out on others so often. It made him look like a fool.
Brey makes his way to Node 23
Brey didn't do anything that costs Might. 0 Might still remaining.
Brey The wizard god would now cast a single spell. A spell to guard his library. Those who came into the library would be blinded if they came with bad intentions. Intentions to steal or destroy, or otherwise harm anything in the library, for example, including people. Muttering a quick but strong spell under his breath, Brey unleashed this enchantment on the library. "The library needs tighter security. Even this is a little limp wristed of me if I just decided to rest on this as the only security measure." He explained to the library's security staff. "Okay, so, you all keep guard of this library. Eventually I will have to leave."
Brey then returned to eating his dinner, honeyed venison. After enjoying his meal he retired to the library and simply read everything in it. There still wasn't very much there, including the spell books. However, he gave a slight grin. "There is so much work to be done." His mind wandered to the other gods. "There is soooo much work to be done." "I wonder how Asvarad is doing." He would have to make sure to check on his snake neighbor, soon. It was enjoyable to not be alone. He hoped that he had not been harmed or otherwise slain in the God's War.
Brey casts an enchantment over the library which blinds those who try to cause harm to it or it's occupants. Then he begins to read the contents of the library.
It was time for the Wizard God to live up to his name. Brey knew the people were eager to learn. There was enough food stored and enough time for some people to devote their selves towards the study of magic. Brey carefully crafted spell books, and directly taught some would be mages the arts, or perhaps you could call it the craft, or even science of magic.
"Arthur, the magic in this book teaches how to manipulate and conjure fire. You can learn how to light candles a flame, how to extinguish fire before it engulfs you, and even how to cauterize wounds with a wave of the hand."
"Sheila, this magic is the magic of healing. You can mend terrible wounds, cure diseases, and learn the secrets of longevity spells."
"Lastly, Oscar, there's you for today. The magics of enchantment, including illusions, mental compulsions and how to empower weapons to be sharper, stronger, etcetera."
"All of you will be learning alchemy, in addition to this."
"Class begins after First Meal of the day. You have two hours to get to your classes before they begin after First Meal."
Brey thought of his decision to teach magic. What else could he do, for now? He needed to serve his purpose as a Sage, live up to his reputation, and more importantly, to make sure his people survive the incoming conflicts among the gods. The only way he could see that happening for now was through the knowledge of magic. Soon, well, soon-ish, the people could work together so that his people would be the most prosperous of all the god's folk.
Brey creates magical spell books and teaches the people in person how to use magic.
4 Might spent for an advanced blessing. The magic taught is the elemental types of magic, plus enchantment, healing and alchemy. These people learn magic very quickly.
The Node Monster. An ever changing chameleon like creature, The Node Monster wandered the territory Brey wished to claim as his own. Brey wasn't a martial deity, so a creature that ate gods would be a little harder to take down for him than for some other gods. Brey had a plan. He had the knowledge of how to smelt metals that would be superior to any mortal's forge work for centuries to come. Cautiously, Brey observed the Node Monster hunting down other fauna, observed it's habits and then finally, after studying it, struck. First, a poisonous arrow was fired from his bow, from out of sight of the creature. The arrow struck it's target.
Seeing Brey firing, from some distance away, the Node Monster then gave chase to the deceptively old looking deity. After passing many trees, the tiring monster, who, with poison ravaging it's insides, triggered trip wire, and suddenly a metallic battering ram slammed into it. It was Brey's chance, he made haste towards the Node.
The man approached the node. He desired to lift the people out of the horrors of their primitive conditions. No knowledge. This wizard among the gods would first teach these people the ways of knowledge that would be, for them, like magic, before teaching them actual magic later. Raising them to the level of civilization, they would begin to smelt copper and brass, and had a currency. Hunting, farming and agriculture, and medicine, as well as a calendar was developed. For now Brey would be somewhat of a king. He was called "The Sage". Claiming the node, Brey created a great library. For now it would be almost bare, but would contain knowledge of medicine and other important subjects before it would be improved on greatly later.
Eventually, Brey planned to exalt knowledge of all kinds, but for now, the people would be educating themselves in lesser sciences, perhaps eventually becoming renowned astronomers. Surrounded by a vast wilderness of wood, and stone, there would be no shortage of materials to construct the Great Library. People would still fish, farm, and hunt, but would not be ignorant.
Brey decides to claim the node 22, and prepare the folk for a future of learning. After dealing with the node monster, a weird creature that would eat Brey.
