Go right ahead man, I believe we already have some complete CS' on the waiting list so it should be okay.
I swear to fucking god if Marcus gets BTFO too, this team is gonna go through a real shitshow when this is all over. Diamond got OHKO'd. Aurellius Bellend made it maybe twenty to thirty seconds before getting mcshanked. Marcus, pls.Have faith in the hand cannon.
They are as safe as any high explosive, HEI shells are in use today on our Earth by various armies all over the world. Like I said before, the real fancy stuff is for later. Also Leo, should I imagine Geni's attack as a wave of ice or as a time distortion? These are Grimm we're talking about. Your point?Imagine a misfire...
True, I'm sure once the plot moves along and gets more serious everyone will be going through 'upgrades'. Have you considered a Sabot tank round?I have, it's gonna be a second semester upgrade I think. Should I add what Marcus has right now to his CS? I still have to edit in his picture anyway. Would look something like this:
Current shell inventory:
- High Explosive Anti Tank (HEAT): A general purpose round that explodes in a specific way to pierce through armour. Good for most things though it specialises in knocking out heavily armoured targets at long range.
- Canister: Turns the cannon into a giant shotgun. Excellent for crowds of beowulfs and the like.
- Incendiary (HEI): Special explosive shell that spreads around white phosphorous on impact. This is what killed the Datura in the introduction. Usually for crowd control work when canister doesn't have the range.
- Armour Piercing (AP): Bog standard big heavy bullet. At short to middle ranges it pierces armour better than HEAT, and unlike HEAT it can batter through walls, trees, light buildings and other soft cover to reach it's target.
- High Explosive (HE): Tiny little organ parts for everyone! Not good versus anything with armour.
It is still in the laboratory stage for a reason. It also releases highly toxic clouds of gas when it does sofire that only downwind when the rest of the team is riding outside the tank, would you please? :D
@Agent B52 - The convention thing was more along the lines of joking, but for acidic cloud rounds you have to be wary of 'friendly-fire'. Also, acid can't melt glass if I'm correct. There's something about it's molecular structure that makes glass extremely resistant against acid. This is the tame variant of what's in the shell: Hydrofluoric Acid vs a glass bulb. Note the part where the top half lets go and dissolves in a few seconds. What has Marcus all excited though, is way stronger (fluoroantimonic acid for those interested). Now I could of course go into depth about what makes it more unpleasant, toxic and all round dangerous but for practical purposes: SCIENCE! . Because melting faces is fun.
What, Marcus is looking to fabricate an acid/anti-Grimm tank round or something? xD I can see the Geneva/Chemical Weapons conventions screaming now..The world of Remnant is a certified Death World. Despite access to morphing weapons technology, functional humanoid killbot drones, stable strong AI's (okay a prototype BUT on a human sized chassis), man portable rail cannons, networking technology, FUCKING MAGIC and enough resources to build a fleet of gravity defying aerial battleships there are a grand total of FOUR stable kingdoms in essentially postage stamp sized areas relative to the continents they are on. The only reason these kingdoms can even survive is due to natural barricades keeping the worst of the Grimm hordes out. That whole spiel from 'This Will Be The Day' where it is spelled out that this world needs a great defender? That the world is unforgiving? Not hyperbole. Given half the chance, the world of Remnant will cheerfully strangle you with your own guts, proceed to tear out your eyes and then skullfuck your corpse. As a result expect a lot more 'Warcrimes? What're those?' inventions if/when the situation calls for it. That said, I do feel the show actually did a poor job of actually showing just how truly dire that situation is. EDIT: I realise I forgot to answer your question: Yes. He's working on a fluoroantimonic acid round. For reference, this stuff will melt through glass like cotton candy, just like flesh, bone, steel, concrete, etc. It also releases highly toxic clouds of gas when it does so, which is nice. It's for other Datura to take out both the big guy and whatever smaller spawn it carries in one shot rather than the multiple incendiary rounds he had to use the last time. EDITEDIT: I just realised that I had the 100th IC post. Woo!
What game is it that you're semi-professional in? :O
Teflon? If Marcus needs a strong coating to withstand heat and stress for something, he could collaborate with Shiro. While he may not be as intellectual as Marcus, Shiro's familiar with weapons technology and things of that nature. Maybe try Cerakote.Yeah that was fairly predictable wasn't it? It is indeed World of Tanks. As for the teflon coated shell, it is not the teflon that worries Marcus. He needs to figure out how to prevent the acid it contains from blowing up when it's fired. The stuff's not very stable (it has to be in order to melt tougher stuff like bones or concrete). What game is it that you're semi-professional in? :OProbably World of Tanks.
Those are not mutually exclusive :DAnyway Marcus vs Geni is something I hope to make a lot of headway on tonight. Possibly another day before it's finished I think.
