Mason's eyes narrowed as he focused on the pen in his hand. *click , click , click*

"This is useless." He said, tossing the pen onto the pile of wrinkled papers scattered across his desk. His gaze traveled across the room to the open window facing the forest on the edge of the Vinehurst campus. "I hate this place. All day, every day, this is what I get. This crappy dorm room and this crappy view of that crappy forest. Takes a murder to make this place exciting."

He'd heard the whispers of the missing girl. Well, not really whispers... everyone seemed to talk about it almost casually. At least the student body, that is. "Heh" Mason chuckled, "Student body. Good one." He leaned over the desk pressing himself up to him feet, still smiling at his joke as he checked himself out in the mirror before heading out the door.

Name: Mason Adams
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Straight

Personality: Mason has a tendency to overcompensate in order to be liked. While he is genuinely kind, his lack of social experience has left him to be seen as offputting and arrogant. Even amongst those of similar societal status, he's constantly attempting to one up others with his families successes, although his contribution was merely being born. He's often finding himself in postitions of conflict.

Interests: video games, sports cars, pretending to know things about business and finance, theater, exploration of abandoned buildings

Dislikes: rules and authority, younger kids, being ignored

Appearance: Mason keeps his hair long, flowing to his shoulders and never leaves his house until it is exactly how he wants it. His dark brown eyes are still those of a child, but his style of dress is clearly an attempt to offset that. He tends to wear nice dress pants and shoes with designer sweaters, all of which were 'given to him by the designer because they are good friends'. Most of the time, he carries a backpack with an assortment of business journals and magazine top 100 lists referencing his family.

History: At first glance, Mason appears to be typical wealthy brat. American born, his family made their name in Manhattan real estate after his father took over the company and expanded it outside of New Jersey following the death of his grandfather. Mason is an only child and spent much of his early school years homeschooled before joining a private school in New York at 13. Adapting to the change of environment was a constant struggle for him, leading to him being removed from school after only two years, due to failure to complete assignments and fights with other students. Following the summer break, his father informed him that he had been enrolled in Vinehurst to finish out his education. Mason fought against the move and has arrived at the campus with no prior knowledge of the events that have occured.
I'd be down to take a shot at this.
Sorry. Gonna have to pause my commitment to this :(
Hey!

Sorry I forgot to sub on this account. Yes, still interested. I am up for w/e the group wants.

Reading through, I think it would be cool to do like a Shameless sort of family dynamic. Oldest sibling is essentially raising/responsible for family of half brothers/sisters from dad’s different relationships.

Subbed, btw. ;)

The phone begins to ring. You look around the diner, expecting the ringing to cease as the phone is answered by someone nearby. The ringing continues. You pull the phone out of your pocket. Not your phone. You don’t own a Nokia. You press the green button. The ringing stops.

“Hello! Thank you for answering! I was beginning to fear you wouldn’t! But, you did, and that is all that matters… Well not all. Today is quite possibly the luckiest day of your life! You have been selected to compete for our highest cash prize ever! 6.7 MILLION dollars! Doesn’t that sound fantastic!? All you have to do is tie your left shoe!”

The voice is surprisingly cheery, almost like a game show host trying way too hard to keep his job. The inflections in the man’s voice was rather alluring.

“Who is this?” you ask. You’ve heard of these sort of calls. They lure you in with a too good to be true offer, and next thing you know, you owe them thousands of dollars. Fraud. Or it could be a friend just teasing your rather misfortunate current situation.

“Tsk tsk! To play, just tie your left shoe!”

“Who is this!?!” “If you’ll just tie your shoe, $1000 dollars will be deposited into your bank account. That will pay for that computer you knew you couldn’t afford, silly!”

“What!? My shoe is tied..” You look down, noticing a clearly untied left shoe. The line clicks. Disconnected. Your attention bounces from the shoe, to the phone, to the people surrounding you. Surely one of your friends must be teasing.

So what do you do? Do you tie the shoe, or leave the phone and forget this mess altogether? If you tie the shoe, then congratulations, you are now a contestant in The Game. The rules are simple:

1. 13 Challenges yielding increasingly greater rewards will be given to you over the phone, over the next 36 hours
2. Complete a Challenge, and the reward amount will be deposited into your bank account.
3. Fail to complete a Challenge, and The Game is over, all winnings will be lost.
4. Telling anyone that you are playing The Game is strictly forbidden, resulting in all winnings to be lost.
5. Complete all 13 Challenges, and you win.
I'll keep it short since this is, I dunno, the third time I have done this.

I'm back. Looking forward to meet you all.

Let's do the RP thing.

Interested. Financial collapse/power grid caused mass chaos etc.? IDC Lemme know.
I'd likely be down for this. Don't have a character, so if you have a template or anything, lemme know and I can get started on it.
