So I often download M/M paranormal romance books to read on the go. It's a guilty pleasure of mine just to pass the time and see what's out there until a book I look forward to comes out.

Anyway, I grabbed a book on the cheap the other day that came highly recommended, had about 50 high score reviews so I thought I found a nice gem to enjoy.
Not so much. It's bad. Mystery Science Theater bad. I could write something better than this in my spare time, bad. Which is what brings me here!
Basically, I'd like to make a cooperative 1x1 RP out of it not just for funsies but also to see if I can improve my interpersonal writing technique a bit. This RP is going to be romantic in nature but I plan to keep it PG-13 for the purposes of writing.
Basic Premise
David is the Alpha werewolf of Chicago. He runs a tight knit group of wolves, seeing to their needs and keeping them in line, but things have started to get a little dicey after the group's Omega, Ashley Harris was mysteriously killed while shifted a year ago. Tensions are rising, group members are getting more violent with each other, and if something doesn't change soon, the whole pack might implode.
Something did change last night though.
David was returning from a meeting with a rival Alpha when the driver of his car spotted a young man, bloody and terrified, running into the street. As he left the car to go and help the young man, two things became apparent to David.
First, the man had been assaulted by a werewolf- all the bite marks on his body were consistent with such a savage attack.
And second, David's inner wolf took one look at this harried young man and immediately sat up and howled 'MATE!'

Bio: Ian Cain grew up in the shadow of Central Park with a pair of 9 to 5 working parents. He followed the course of all school kids his age until he turned thirteen- show up, get good grades, don't make trouble for mommy and daddy, and be on the lookout for that special someone. Problem was, when the name of his intended first manifested at birth, mom and dad had an expectation in mind. "Harriet" is what it said, and the date of meeting was right around when Ian was going to graduate.
Remembering their own meeting day, Charles and Loretta Cain planned an extravagent "Meeting Party" for the day Ian was to meet this Harriet, investing a lot of time and money in welcoming the soulmate to be into their family and preparing to dote on them hand and foot.
Unfortunately for mom and pops, they didn't plan on "Harriet" being male and Ian didn't have the guts at such a young age to inform them.
Harry was 18 and arrived at Ian's school as a transfer student from Queens- and was everything Ian wasn't. Athletic, brash, and unwilling to compromise his emotional happiness for the sake of others- except maybe Ian. But the two made the best of things and showed up to the party hand in hand after an hours long chat after classes ended.
Mom and dad were shocked and hurt, but they came around to be happy for their son in the coming days. Harry's mom was likewise open to Ian.
Harry and Ian were inseparable for months during and after school- up until a year ago. Ian was at the supermarket, stocking up on produce for their apartment, when he noticed Harriet's name turned black and crossed out. Which was when he got a call from St. Mary's Hospital- Harriet had been in an accident while taking a taxi across town.
Only recently Harriet has noticed that a new name has taken Harry's place.
Occupations: Artist, Amateur Bartender
Country of Origin: United States.
Feelings about meeting their soul mate: Terror. Ian lives in absolute fear of meeting his soulmate because he doesn't know what that will bring. Ostensibly, joy and happiness. But his greatest fear is that he'll become matched with someone else who will leave him behind.

The Setting
is Centares Academy. It's the jewel of the Royal Gryphon System, a solar system with 4 planets, two of them inhabited. It is every parent's dream from the Asteroid mines in the Outer Belt to the core cities of Gryphon itself that their child will be selected to attend the prestigious Youth Sciences School. After all, mechanical and medical discoveries from its fabled halls are used from Terra all the way to the Outer Colonies. There's even been talk of an "Alien Embassy" opening up from the Ghola species.
The Story
Humanity's first colonies were established over 200 years ago, and the Gryphon system holds the honor of being one of the first solar systems settled. Gryphon itself is an earth-like world with a vibrant biosphere, and its sister planet Helsink, is a colder but still Oxygen-rich world. A ring of mineral rich asteroids on the outside of the system gives it a constant source of material to harvest. All three of these planets/regions are under the protection of Gryphon's Prime Minister and Parliament.
Gryphon has experienced an economic boom by harvesting its asteroid belt for precious metals while charging a tax for all goods shipped from the Outer Colonies to Earth through Gryphon's wormhole. Added to this is Gryphon's distinction of being the source of humanity's first (publicly acknowledged) contact with an extraterrestrial race, the Lemurians, almost 50 years ago. Their trade in technology has allowed their universities to become among the most advanced in Human space.
Meanwhile, the Outer Colonies, long a hotbed of violence and political division in the face of steep shipping taxes from Earth, have taken steps toward unification into a single political entity known as the Outer Alliance. Years of negotiating with Earth for relief from the importing of advanced goods has left the Alliance impoverished and wracked with plagues, civil conflicts and famine. Amidst all this, Laertes Gurn, the Consul of the Alliance, has threatened war with Earth if the taxes were not lifted immediately. Earth all but laughed in his face while Gryphon maintained neutrality.
After three months, life continues as normal for the students at the prestigious Centares Academy. The development of a new generation of Exo-Suits for civil purposes was well on its way to completion when the Royal Gryphon Army handed down a request for weaponised suits after negotiations went sour. With only three months to go and no licenses for hard weapons from the military, students have had to improvise their suits armaments and equipment for showing off at the annual thesis presentation.
Maybe next year you can build a REAL military exo-suit. You'll definitely have the time then!
Characters
are students of the Royal Centares Academy. Whether their research is in medical studies or technical engineering, their yearly thesis projects were suddenly redirected toward Exo-suit research by the Gryphon Royal Military only a few months ago. You're on the way to a Live Testing Zone set up by the military just outside school grounds to test them out.
Their Exo-suits
are expected to be no larger than 5 meters in height (think standard Iron Man suit on up to Hulkbuster). Weapons are to be of an improvised nature or experimental (lasers exist but most soldiers still use bullets). To introduce a level of chance, I'd ask that players roll a D6 whenever they use such experimental items, writing in bold their actions and posting the number they rolled in (parenthesis) right after. On a 6, they achieve a monumental success. 3-5 is what they intended. 2 is a failure. 1 is a Catastrophic failure that should have very unpleasant consequences. This will work on the honor system but will be faster than waiting for a DM to write out the consequences, halting the RP in its progress.
