Seeing I intend to put some stations in the upper atmosphere of a brown dwarf I see no reason why not.

Also set up a chatzy for the RP since I feel we are clogging the final frontier chat up

Did you know you can add colors beyond the default?
Which parts of alpha centuari?
I think it says a lot about how dismal this RP's setting is when people manage to lose a space fleet.
Looks like we got a monkeypants around Jupiter and Saturn.

Yay!

Meanwhile i'll be in a far off, cold star system hugging a brown dwarf that rains molten iron speaking a language descended from simplified chinese.
Hello. I am involved with the creation of this RP; Me and Iso have cooperated to bring you this much smaller scale "interstellar" RP. We are open to player input and this NRP's setting is cooperatively created. While the frame work for the present day has been established, there is still vast amounts of lore unfilled and many worlds unclaimed.

I should note that Iso intends to be Mars, while I will be about the Luhman system [someone join me in the frost pot!]

To address a couple potential questions:

Q: Many of your worlds for extrasolar planets are blank besides Hell. Will you fill them out?

A:The extrasolar worlds are mostly blank beyond their basic classification intentionally. This is to allow for player freedom in world making. I placed a base classification for each world as a base template for you, the player, to expand on. Note that some worlds have a couple "special" modifications. For instance the desert-like worlds in Epsilon Eridani are actually desolate. If you want to change the type of a planet, please discuss it with me or iso.

As for "hell", that world actually exists. It is a real exoplanet in the centauri multi-star system.

Due to incomplete data on exoplanets, creative liberties were taken in adding exoplanets that may or may not exist. However, exoplanets that are known to exist or speculated to exist in the star systems selected for use are there. For instance the gas giants orbiting Epsilion Eridani or the aforementioned "hell" world.

Q: Can I make alien species? Perhaps even intelligent ones?

A: Alien fauna is likely to exist, and mind you don't just have to restrict alien life to earth-likes. For instance a titan-like world may have very exotic forms of life and a gas giant may have floaters. The worlds, being player defined means that what worlds have life will be figured out as the RP develops. For this RP is in part a collaborative world building RP; the setting is built with multiple players together off the template given by us.

As for intelligent life keep in mind the following: There is only four star systems overall in this RP, and one already has intelligent life [sol]. However, if there is to be any intelligent life [expect a long debate] I and Iso would prefer it if they are alien from a cultural, physiological, biological, and psychological standpoint. I personally also would prefer it if you made them primitive; in that they are to be no more advanced than per say the greeks or sumerians.

If you intend to make a human-like race, be a human civ instead. If you wanna be a primitive human race, be a Terran civ.'

Q: Fast as light engines?

A: Basically warp drives, but more balanced as they are incredibly expensive to use to the point where using them for interstellar travel is incredibly hard to do; very few, select times in four hundred years of human history has this drive been used for interstellar travel. They're great for rapid interplanetary travel for those specialized ships however.

@Iso The earth-like moon should be orbiting that gas giant like this:

-[Gas giant]
-[Earth-like]
-[Barren moon]
You never actually specified the amount of habitable worlds the galaxy had, since no one actually knows. This is evident since you got some people who say earth-likes would be incredibly rare while others say 100 billion or 2 billion. The latter of which probably would mean you occupy the whole galaxy with a trillion colonies.

You probably should specify that this galaxy has 60 billion earth-like worlds.
A galaxy RP that realizes the scale of a galaxy?

I have interest, but I don't believe I have the time to participate. However I will be keen on watching, mainly to see how things unfold.

The Captain said
What really gets me and ruins my suspension of disbelief, more than the unusually high standard of military technology, is the standard for scale. It boggles my mind to consider how a nation of 10 billion worlds, with 27 quintillion citizens, might ever be effectively administrated. Are there whole planets devoted to bureaucracy or something?

In defense of the author, such numbers are more in touch with the scale of a galaxy than most "galactic scale RPs". 10 billion worlds is around 1/30th of a galaxy and even highly populated NRPs tend to only contain around 20 or so players, a share of which using not holding much territory being nomads or ancients who only occupy a couple worlds.
Im not dead, my recent absence is because I am trying to limit my time by only going to RPGuild on select days of the week because I go on chatzy far too much. [Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays]
Holy shit I should think of a post for this.
I guess what I find off about the year is that far in the future would mean culture would have to be pretty different, to say the least. In 2250 or so years we went from the Hellenistic world, folk religions/god pantheons and regional empires to globalization, secularism and nation states.

As well as going through all the empires that rose and fell in that period of time.

So any baseline history that can be given? Or at least a overview of the different era and ages that have gone by to this point? What technological developments have happened between now and the yea 4258?
