So, It has been about a month and I have yet to do this - Righto!
I am a 22 year old aspiring writer and academic - not in a pretentious way, I really want to study for the rest of my life. I am curious about most things - Culture, Language, art, food, music, history, science, politics, philosophy, biology, physics. I believe the best way to escape the ever looming threat of solipsism is to interact with things you know you could not have made up on your own - to confound yourself as much as possible by the seemingly impossible. I like reading as well - and I read anything that is not am outright romance - the once thing that does not interest me, and never has. And I am 22 years old! Mother stop bothering me! The only thing romance is good for is when it allows you side quests in RPG's. I tend to spend most of my salary on books, and I have an ever growing fear that when I intend to actually leave my country and travel the world, I will not be able to take my ever growing list of favorites with me. My greatest aspiration, beyond becoming a celebrated academic - is to reside somewhere in west-Europe and be able to attend opera's and concerts and understand what they are singing without subtitles or synopsi - and hopefully die one day in the middle of one of the great arias.
If you wish for me to join, let me know - I don't often peruse and might miss your prompts.
Name: Orithius Pethris Wyrmwood Gender: Male Age: 16
Year: 6th Element: Earth
Parents: Lord Corpherius Wyrmwood and Lady Pehtra Wyrmwood
Appearance: Orithius is the epitome of the lanky teenager - thin and tall - standing at just over six feet even at this young age. He carries himself with grace and poise however - behaviors that have been drilled into him from a young age. His skin is pale - a product of his rather academic and sedentary life - leading to him rarely leaving the house. His eyes are a rare golden color - associated with his family. He has mid-back length pitch black straight hair that is kept well brushed and maintained to a nearly insane level of perfection. He also has a few tattoos on the underside of his forearms - which he keeps out of sight of other people.
Typical dress: He tends to wear pitch black, custom three piece suits - with a black shirt, and black silk tie. He also wears his custom black oxfords - that are always polished to a reflective shine. The only things that he wears which go against traditional wear, are a pair of earrings - hanging on two black links are two symbols carved out of polished obsidian which look like exaggerated commas, with a hole through the middle. (think less creepy young Orochimaru…) - He also walks around with a cane with a Rapier hidden in the piano-black finished wooden exterior.
Favorite weapon: The cane that he walks around with has a long thin sword hidden inside - the black blade has many sigils carved in, which he can use for many different things such as summoning the sword to him, making it extend or shorten, etc. Because of his earth style, he can manipulate the metal of the sword to move and bend - making it even more dangerous in battle - as in, blocking a staff with the blade, then having it coil around the staff and allowing him to try and rip it from the hands of the other.
Hometown: Originally from Britain, Orithius was moved to the family’s Swiss residence - hidden within the great mountains of the Northern Alps. The monolithic structure is wedged in a ravine that requires magic to reach - and is made of glass, marble and metal. He travelled to Zurich every morning for his Formal Pre-Schooling and came back in the late afternoons via Teleportation.
Non-Elemental talent: Seals that he can place on things, either bringing the item to him or transport himself to it. His family is also known for their manipulation of metal and other unusual forms of earth - like onyx and other forms of marble.
History: Orithius Pethris Wyrmwood was born two days before Valentines - much to the dismay of his mother who had wanted a Valentines baby. His father - Lord Corpherius Wyrmwood seemed to be happy with the resulting child nonetheless - and affirmed his affections and support for the young Orithius through the Large and ever closed metal doors of his office. His mother too, after a few months of doting care - became rather bored with the prospect of raising a child - and sent him off to the Swiss residence.
Here he was cared for by his myriad of servants and tutors. His parents made sure that he would not become too bound to his caretakers by constantly supplementing and replacing the staff. He never knew any person for more than three months - for the first six years of his life.
This caused him to become very quiet and slightly resentful of the people who he read about in his books. When he started his formal training - he met his first real long term mentor. The man and his wife constantly bickered, even while in his presence - and the resulting irritation led Orithius to decide that people were mostly only useful insofar they can provide you with expertise or guidance - and that beyond that they were merely irritants to be ignored.
By the time he was 11 he had read and understood most of what he would need for school - but when presented with the children and the noise, became flustered and overwhelmed. His parents - who seemed completely unsure about how to go about dealing with the situation. They strong armed the school into letting him attend the classes, and teleport back home after class. Over the next few years he barely spoke to any of the students beyond giving them the notes they needed for group work. His work was always perfectly done and on time.
Over the last year his father had been insisting that he become more involved in the family business - and thus he would need to develop some social skills. While he already thought his father a moron - Orithius has agreed to go to social classes and try and be more social at school. This year would be the first year that he actually tried to interact and would not be allowed to come and go as he pleases.
here is my character - please let me know if there is something that I should change. @Arya10108909

@Cloud3514 - damn this looks like it would have been awesome. If you ever want to reboot it, let me know. I would love to be part of it. and I have a rather sedentary office job, so I am almost always at least logged in - so no reason not to post during breaks. I am only a novice MTG player, but I also play D&D weekly and I have some understanding of the lore... and I willing to learn more if needed.
Appearance: Tall for his race, he stands at just under two meters. His sensory appendages hang loosely down his back and over his shoulders. His skin is a dark grey color, and his eyes a deep black. His skin is very well taken care of, as he makes sure to hydrate and maintain a balanced diet. Beyond that, he is an academic, and does little to no exercise - maintaining his thin frame by regulating diet. His major motor skills are underdeveloped, and he is not strong or dexterous. His finer motor skills however are exquisite - and he is a brilliant surgeon with steady hands and excellent breath control. He wears a dark grey lab coat - which is covered with an informal grey cloak - with a hood. He also has a penchant for expensive leather shoes - and wears a pair instead of the more appropriate combat boots
Personality: He is a quiet and focused individual - a behaviour that he has trained to perfection his entire life. In a panic situation, he will rather become very quiet and very cryptic - as he would be trying to think his way out of the situation. This does not mean that there is nothing behind this image. A large part of himself is the hidden, highly aggressive, highly ambitious and highly determined personality traits. They manifest in his day to day activities as snark and sarcasm, cynicism and bouts of mind numbing boredness. This also makes him very controlling of his environment - leading to an almost compulsive level of neatness and refinement - which in turn has made him an excellent surgeon and doctor.
Gender: Male
Race: Nautolan
Force Sensitive: Yes, but it is very, little. He thinks his perception of other people and their intents is just his interpretation of their hormonal systems. In reality, he can - when interacting with other people for a long time - begin to anticipate how they will react and interpret a situation, giving him understanding as to their motivations and actions that will most likely lead from it.
Equipment:
Blood content analyzer Holocron with the official Universal Xenological record Surgical tools A high quality - travel chemisty set A set of first aid essentials Universal Music player - with a selection of instrumental and orchestral classical music(whatever that might be in this story) An encrypted communicator with which he can connect with some of his previous contacts A set of False documents - which he got as a favor for getting a gangster’s brother off deathsticks and back to full health
Quarters and Living space: He has been offered the Medical Bay within the ship to facilitate his role as Medical Adviser and Practitioner. While the area was never that bad - he quickly got some help in to refurbish it - lining the dark grey walls and floors with clinical reflective white. Then he organised at his own expense, calling in many favors to either steal or bring him the medical equipment he needed(wanted) - While the main area is very much an emergency surgery, the back part of the area is split into private rooms, where he sleeps - in a tank filled with constantly purifying water.
In another, out of the way - locked to all but him and the captain - module he has been building a micro cloning lab - which he has an almost complete set of organs for each kind of person on the ship - supposedly as a precaution - moreso to keep himself busy. The tech is not very advanced - compared to what he usually worked with - but it is more than sufficient. He has been itching to make the lab better - to steal the tech needed to make it even more reliable and comprehensive - but he is afraid of drawing too much attention to himself.
Role on ship: General health oversight and care, Identification of obscure species, cloning of replacement organs for the crew, Staying out of the way of the other loud and dirty people
Obligation: Khava Marr is a medical specialist - who had been employed by the Empire to research hormonal changes within individuals affected with force-Psychosis - and in turn to try and develop antibodies and cloning schematics that would counter this naturally occurring susceptibility. While he developed a few treatments, it became clear very early on to him that this was nearly impossible - and when he began to note this, he could feel the ire of benefactors. Deciding to leave before they decided he was as obsolete as he knew he was quickly becoming - he scoured into the underworld, offering his services as a doctor to the scum of the earth. This level of medicine bores him more than he would ever admit, but he dare not allow his ambition to grow - lest he draw the attention of the empire.

History: Khava Marr was born to a middle class family on Coruscant, and had a very sheltered life - a wonder since his parents were political activists. When they eventually left (taken away for execution) when he was eight years old - he was well on his way to an orphanage - when an official noted his reading, and apparent comprehension of a set of advanced medical holocrons. Always one to milk a potential asset - Khava was moved to his house and an even more sheltered life - made almost entirely of private tutoring. He finished his formal schooling early, and gained his Doctorate in record speeds. His father of sorts - wormed him into a government based research facility where he proved himself -unknowingly- in reducing biological anomalies within the cloning process. Soon he was promoted to higher levels within the facility, and began working with more abstract and complicated forms of science - the first real mental challenge he ever had.
This thrilled him, and he threw himself into the research, until he realised that it was going nowhere. Normally not a problem - but it also became apparent that whatever he was working on now - was far too delicate to simply be covered with a confidentiality clause. While he extended the research for as long as possible - he began to plan his escape. It took him a few months, but eventually - he was gone. Without a trace. Then a body was found - thought to be him, but merely a clone he had brewed in his own home. He was sure it would fool most people… he only hoped he was correct.
Meanwhile he stayed low and quiet, offering his services to the underbelly of the universe he gained the title of The Grey Doctor - a title he loved and feared at the same time. It made him feel roguish, but also put a target on his back. Calling in all his favors - he left the planet easily enough - and set out to other areas, moving between mob bosses and other rogues of the Galaxy - staying far away from the Rebellion and the Empire’s war - and offering his services.
He was directed to his current endeavor by a grateful smuggler - who had fallen in love with one of his malnourished cargo and begged him to get her up on her feet once more - with promises of anything, should he ever call for it. He supposed a longer term contract within a larger group could allow him to hide between them, and make some contacts in the meantime.
