Depends on my mood once we get there. I'd need to see what you're doing with it at that point in time rather than make a judgement call right this second.

I'm not sure which part of my post you're referring to. If it's the former, then I'll have to say that I will need to ask you before I make the character. If it's the latter, then well... we'll see.
In any case, it's no big deal, and I won't jump at you if something I think of doesn't work.
That's very cool, I'm already super hyped to build my deck. Please tell me once the setting is relatively safe, I'll have to bug you quite a bit when making my character, I'm planning to do some very cool stuff with her (gender reveal whoa), but some of it will need your approval.

When we get to the city eventually though, we can actually get a working archetype going right? I mean our Decks will still have to be interesting, and not as streamlined as any ideal meta build would be, but going for a Darklord-Deck in the end would be possible right? (I intend to use those at a rather late point)
With people talking about their characters playing Archetypes, wouldn't that have to be when we're already inside the city? My understanding is that we'll have to make do with basically random cards, most of which are rather bad by today's standards.
Already got some really cool stuff for my character, and I'm absolutely ready so scrap it all when everything changes on a whim. :))

@Ammokkx Snap out of it, chances are he was just sent to the shadow realm anyway. There's no such thing as 'death' in Yugioh! c:
(Though I hope our RPG will be more fearless in that regard)
Well, I for one like the idea that has been proposed, otherwise I'd not have posted thoughts on it.

To the Master Rule question, I think the only real answer is to play in Master Rule 5. Not only do we have casual players who didn't keep up with everything here, to whom the new rule caters to, but we'll likely not start playing until April 1st rolls around, so we'd not be up to date with the rules if we went with MR4. But the main thing here is that people who exclusively want to use older summon mechanics such as Synchro, Fusion and kinda Xyz will be happy with the new rules, and anyone wanting to use a Link-centered strategy will be able to do so. It's just the most handy solution, in my opinion. I mean, I don't see us spamming out many Extra Deck bosses at once in the near future, and by the time we do, everyone will probably be used to MR5, and those who don't actually play enough to get used to anything can just skip links and play as they used to...

Speed Spells seem more like a hinderance than anything. But that's coming from someone who never watched 5ds. Allow me a question - So they're driving around in their D-Wheel, on a racetrack, yes? What's the point of going fast or having a super good bike (I know Yusei builds one up to a point, don't ask me how), if you only gain counters by game mechanics, you only need them to activate cards in the game, and how fast you go only matters because you get to go first if you're first on corner 1. To me it seems like all that matters is who accellerates the quickest, so they can go first, while everything else makes the bikes seem so useless. Please enlighten me.
@Amaranthine Oh, no. Don't worry dude I ain't fussed about that. I'm waiting for the setting to be decided before I make anything more than a joke idea.

It was only half-way directed towards you in any case, but I also wanted to throw that into the room. Gives us more diversity with what characters can be and all that.

If me throwing out 3 of my own proposed ideas should've taught you anything, it's that I'm not particularly attached to anything I throw out there.

Well, it's not unheard of for people to like equality, even if it means losing something in return. As such, it could be a possibility for our group to have some very small amount of allies inside the fence, if communications are good enough for that. That way, the funny guy in a business suit could happen :)
OG Card of Sanctity was quite something. Created a very loaded gamestate.
Random thought I had - If we were going to integrate some manner of special / unique cards into the story, why not have them be the Matchwinner-Prizecards with altered effects? I mean they have cool names and cool art, and they're never ever used for anything except to flex (I guess?), soooo...

This topic already has more replies than anything in the last 4 pages here
Are we shitposting too much or is it the hype? Or can it be both? Find out next week, when we...

Yeah I'm scrapping the banlist for this one. I can just veto you if I think you're doing something in bad faith (like putting 5 banned cards in your deck and they happen to be pot of greed, harpy's feather duster, graceful charity, sixth sense and self-destruct button)

<Snipped quote by Amaranthine>

Pretty much just a mod of their original deck. Since spell cards can't be used, they swap out their spells for speed spells.

also speed duels are something else entirely, that's duel links format guys please stop calling them that

Alrighty then, henceforth I shall call them velocity duels!
Anyone thought about what banlist to use, or is this more of a "Free for all, but don't break the game" kinda thing? I think I'd prefer it as such, because this is by no means a competitive environment, so using a banlist catered towards it isn't ideal.

Also, I've not seen enough 5ds to know this, do characters use different decks for Speed Duels and normal duels, or do they just use a speed duel version of their regular deck?

people who watch yugioh in general have made poor life choices

Then I wonder what's up with people who RP yugioh.....
