Hello everyone,
Unlike the interest checks I made back on the old guild, I'm looking for a partner to do a very specific storyline with me. Before I launch into the juicy details, some ground rules and expectations are in order, for I want you all to know what you're getting into and what you can expect from me.
My expectations for a partner:1. As the title states, this is an advance standard storyline. Allow me to explain. I care more so for quality of a post versus that of length. If you can give beautiful character and plot development in three concise paragraphs, then please do so. If you require ten or more, that's equally as okay.
2. Help with the plot. I've thought up a general idea, but it's still developing. If you want to take the story one way, go for it. I'd be happy to accommodate the unexpected and adapt. In short, creativity is golden and welcomed here.
3. Do not, for the love of all that's good and holy, disappear without telling me. Hate writing with me? Despising the effort in writing a post? Tell me, for I don't want to put you through that turmoil. It'd seriously make me upset and sad.
4. Be open to managing a host of side characters. To fully immerse ourselves into this story, side characters will have to be used, and I don't want to be the only one controlling them. As Samwise Gamgee so eloquently puts it, "share the load."
5. Be diligent with your grammar and language. I'm not an English nazi, for I make mistakes as well; however, the more proofread a post is, the easier and more fun it's to read.
What you can expect from me:1. I will give you my undying attention. Understand that though I'm asking a lot, I will give you equally back.
2. If I have to be absent for more than a week, I will let you know. Being left in the dark for a roleplay is never a fun experience. At the same time, please be mindful that I'm a university student and may not be on everyday.
3. I like romance in roleplays. Generally, I enjoy and do lesbian relationships. However, if you'd like another, talk to me and we can work something out. May I also add that I hate shallow and smut oriented romance. Organic relationships is a must with me. If you're looking for a quick fix of sex, then I'm definitely not the partner for you.
4. If you hate chatty partners, then I may not be for you. I love OoC chat. It builds a relationship for us writers and is integral for brainstorming. Soo ... being a somewhat social bee is kind of a must with me.
That wraps it up for the expectations section. Please excuse the bluntness above. I just wanted to make sure points got across with minimal misunderstanding. If your interest still holds, please enjoy the storyline prompt below.
When the United States formed SETI, they never expected them to be successful in their search of alien life. When the positive contact came in, it was adamantly argued against as an error. Undergoing multiple tests and numerous radio broadcast to the area on the borders of uncharted space, a return signal came back almost every time. The world was in an uproar as conspiracy theorists all claimed it was a government power play, world powers argued on who truly discovered the source, and scientist investigated the unfolding events. Though the media scrutinized the possibilities of extraterrestrials, there was an excitement brewing within humanity. The fruits of SETI campaigning for additional funds was finally ripe.
It was several years before satellites picked up large moving objects. At first, the objects were mistaken for asteroids. As the objects entered into Earth's outer orbit, mini objects began to disperse and fall into Earth's atmosphere. Burning streaks filled the skies as the meteors catapulted into the ground. Out from the great craters and fires that raged across the world, they came. What humanity thought would be a peaceful encounter was the direct opposite. Before the world powers could mobilize a unified defense force, the invasion had already begun. Thus marked the start of the First Contact War.
Though humanity's war machine fought a valiant, grueling battle of attrition, each defense line created quickly collapsed as the Phyrix, the name coined to the aliens, continued their advance. Terrible stories of how human's were processed by the Phyrix and were made into hybrid machines destroyed what little morale was left. Desertion was seen on the war media coverage as the world watched it terror and began to accept the inevitable.
A year had passed since the start of the war, and humanity lies scattered. Living in lightly occupied Phyrix space and keeping on the move was the only way to survive lest the survivors fall victim to Phyrix. News of the old military still waging a war against the Phyrix still aired on hand cranked radios, but many simply gave up hope. All that was left was survive or be assimilated into the enemy's war machine.
It is the year 2019. Will humanity fall or survive? Only time will tell.
Feel free to PM me or post here, if you're interested. I'm only looking for one partner. If a large amount of interest is garnered, I will ask for a writing sample. Anyways, I think that wraps it up for me. Looking forward to finding someone!
