@Classpet
They are 15-16 usually, its like mix of high school and college. It's usually 6 years, but by 22 students are usually out of the school.

There can be magic careers, some students even end up working at the school, others go back to the normal world to pursue other things, some may end up working for the council of magic. There's a wealth of opportunities with careers. If you can come up with something that you have an idea for, I'll try and work it in to the RP.

Drelmont is no longer alive, but he passed down his legacy, which goes to 3 generations after him. So the current Headmaster is a 3rd generation Drelmont.

Hadn't decided where this takes place. I'm open to suggestions on that. I had thought somewhere that has ample room for a castle school to fit, what with the description I had given on the school, which is outside a forested woodsy area.

Magic does a bunch of things. For instance it can start fires, freeze things, create wind, make water, levitate, turn people invisible etc. If you can come up with something you want magic to do, if I can work it out to the RP i will add it.

Magic works in a few ways. Some students will want wands, while others rely on their hands alone. Either way owning a wand does not facilitate magic any faster than using your hands. The concept is you can channel the magic through the want if you so choose to get one. Magic words are what you cast the spells with and the scrolls are which the spells can be written on, though most spells are categorized in books based on the type.
The OOC is up and character sheets are up.
@Classpet Yes, here is the Character sheet:

Name:
Age:
Personality:
Appearance:
Bio (how you came to be involved with wizardry and how you got to the school):

It's pretty basic for now, but as we progress in the RP you will be adding to your character sheets with certain details.
Here's the OOC: roleplayerguild.com/topics/90677-the-d..

More information will be added as it needs to be.

Only the priveledged are able to attend The Drelmont school of Wwizardry. Only the select will receive an invitation in the mail asking them to attend.

The Drelmont school was founded by an Arthur Drelmont, one of the first in a long line of wizarding family. Back when the Drelmont's first realized that they were of magical descent, they had to keep it secret. They couldn't let people know they were magic users, as magic was frowned upon. As time passed, it was noted that more people were able to use magic. Arthur Drelmont took a stand and decided that people should learn how to use their magical abilities. Thus he created a magic club, gaining only a few members. When more members started showing up, he changed it to a one building, one classroom and began calling it a class. More and more people started to show up and he expanded yet again and now it became a school. Years went on and Arthur grew a following, his teachings would reach many people and word about his school spread like wildfire. It became known that he was the most world renowned wizard and his school became one of the most prestigious schools of wizardry. It expanded to a huge campus tucked away in a secret location accessible only by a unseen portal in the middle of the woods

The portal is located in the middle of the woods and is unnoticable by anyone that doesn't have magical abilities. It's also unusable as well. No one of normal ability can even sense that it's there. A person with magical abilities will walk through said portal and in an instant they will emerge on the other side as if they had crossed a bridge. There will be a path which leads to he school after the bridge.

The school itself it massive. It is a castle which covers acres and acres of the land just outside the woods.
Entering leads to a great hall which is where students check in, where the headmasters office is and where there is a great room for meetings.

Heading back and to the right from the great hall, down a long open halway are the dorms. This is where the studnts live. The dorms are based on your school year at Drelmont's, the first years together, the second years together and so on. Aside from being the living quarters of the students, behind the dorms is the great cafeteria, where the students go for all their meals.

After the great hall and to the left down an open hallway are classrooms, which are in a tower fashion. Stairs lead up and down to different classrooms. Heading up are the classrooms themselves, where the lectures occur. Head downstairs and you reach labs, where potions and other magic objects are made and where those classes are held.

Behind the classes to the left down a long open hall way is the great library, which is home to all the books of the school arranged in sections based on history and lore and spell books.

To the right behind the classes is a large garden for the growing of plants and herbs used in potions.

Outside between dorms and classes there is a large courtyard with a huge fountain in the center. Students usually congregate here to relax or sit outside and study.

Classes at Drelmont's are like you would expect. Lecture classes on history and lore and basic understanding of magic. Then there are the lab classes where spells are practiced, potions, magical items and objects are made, as well as classes on the growing of magic herbs and plants.

Gonna have the OOC up tomorrow.
@Eragon Yeah the magic is quite different.
@Light It's similar to harry potter in a sense but not quite. I have a bunch planned out for this that is different.
So this has probably been done before, but I am thinking of putting together an RP that focuses on a school of magic/wizardry in the vein of harry potter but not quite. The idea is you get invitation to attend the school go and then attend. There will be classes and whatnot and different dorms and such.

I haven't worked out every detail yet, but i'm in the process. Want to see who would be interested before i start posting all said details.

He lifted his head up and looked at her. "It's just this place, it seems so empty. I was hoping to see some of my people. I guess they all are gone, even The Great Mother."

Turning away, he felt the wave of sadness come over him, but he had to be strong. He was The Collector after all and his will was strong. He had to uphold that.

He turned back to Clarissa and stood up. "We need to get to the city. I need to know what happened to this place. Hopefully there's someone there that can shed some light on the situation. I don't have a particularly good feeling about this."

That being said he started out the door making sure Clarissa was following. He scanned the horizon to see if anything could be seen along the cityscape, but he didn't notice a thing. Then double checking just to be sure, he saw some shadowy movements along the outer edges of the city.

"Come along Clarissa, we need to hurry." He grabbed her hand and pulled her off into the distance towards the city.
