Winnie - a common nickname that Winslow particularly hates but is often on the receiving end of. She hates names that have the 'e' sound at the end, but its overly convenient for others to call her such a nickname considering her first name and middle name fit the bill.

Win - a pet name used sometimes by close friends and relatives, it simplifies conversation and allows it to go by quicker. Winslow doesn't particularly hate it, as long as it is used sparingly and for time purposes rather than a permanent name.

I N - D E P T H A P P E A R A N C E:

Winslow has the face of a sweet yankee girl – often led to believe so because of her pale ass skin and “sophisticated” facial features. Many people sometimes expect Southern Americans to look like downright heathens – weird teeth, dirty blonde hair, and big wide smiles. What people don’t expect is the pale, smooth skin of Winslow with slight, faint freckles on her cheek and an apathetic face void of strong emotions. Her hair is red (not auburn, not orange, but the natural color of the gingerfolk) and falls in waves to the tip of her stomach. Winslow doesn’t mess with it much – she prefers to just brush it in the morning and not touch it for the rest of the day. Unfortunately,t his means that at the end of the day, her hair ends up being extremely tangled and so she refuses to allow anyone to play with it after noon. She is around 5’6” in height and is rather on the skinny side with an average figure. However, she’s been working on building up the muscle (though it hasn’t been going well, she’s naturally born with a stick figure) and fat in her body. Winslow is quite satisfied with her legs, though, as they are long and she likes to show them off in jean shorts sometimes. Her voice is rather light and lilting, with a slight Southern accent that she likes to hide (though it slips out at the most inopportune times). Winslow smells like strawberries and ink.

Winslow has three defaults: casual, party, and nice.

When it comes to overall, Winslow hates wearing makeup as she often forgets that she put it on and rubs her eye – however, from time to time, she’ll wear a bit of foundation and eye makeup. Though, she is rather liberal with her use of chapstick. Because Winslow is proud of her legs, she tends to show them off in jean shorts time to time. However, for the most part, her style is rather simple – jeans, tanktops or t-shirts, a jacket or something over top. At teenage outings, though, Winslow likes to wear a wide range of clothes – but she enjoys showing her legs on such days. Typically, when wanting to dress to impress, Winslow is all about the color black and form fitting dresses and skinny jeans with a nice leather jacket. Winslow has two personalities, as confusing as it is: a faux personality she shows to others and a genuine personality reserved only for herself and perhaps a close friend or two.

It’s easy for others to describe her – Winslow is incapable of creating a three-dimensional second personality, after all, so there are cracks. When others see her, they see the typical jock. Her mind seems empty to others; Winslow projects an uncaring stupidity so others don’t question her or bother her with unneeded arguments or discussions. She comes off as a complete meathead with interests in nothing but boxing, wrestling, and martial arts. In order to embrace such a persona, Winslow often incorporates a seventh grade humor “that’s what she said” and crude, yet misinformed, sex jokes. Winslow tends to act arrogantly and impulsively to subscribe herself to the jock stereotype.

The only real trait in the faux personality is her hot-headed, temperamental nature. Winslow doesn’t take well to other people wronging her and her temper has a tendency to get incredibly hot in an incredible amount of time. She is incapable of letting it simmer, but instead lashes out the moment she is angered. Winslow reacts in most situations aggressively – when sad or upset, Winslow would rather respond with heated anger and sharp words than depraved tears and desolation.

Other than her love of martial arts and temperament, the rest of such a projected personality is utterly fake – almost hilariously so. If people knew, many would ask why she pretends as such. Is it to keep her heart guarded? Is it out of a pure need to manipulate others? No, it’s much more simple than that. Winslow is a complete and unsalvageable nerd.

Intelligent or smart is the wrong word to use in regards to her because she is not naturally so – her level of education is the fruit of labor. Winslow is a scholarly woman who likes to spend her time learning and thoroughly picking a part every bit of information she can find. If Winslow wishes to have an opinion on a certain subject, she researches that subject till her fingers are cramping and cut! In addition, she is a rather thorough person, overall. Winslow diligently and carefully sorts through all the facts, assesses all the evidence, and measures all the risks before doing anything. As a nice compliment to such a knowledge-seeking personality, Winslow often has to have a dedicated and diligent mind. Matter of fact, Winslow is one of the hardest working people her friends have ever known – she will work herself to death if she could (and many of her friends back home predicted that she will become a workaholic in the future). She will spend hours making sure she reaches her goals and often has to be dragged away from whatever she is currently working on. However, she has plenty of time to do work considering she is intensely introverted and will become emotionally distressed if around a group of people for more than a few hours at a time.

She tends to live life with a lack of vigor, only going through the motions. She is rather bored with the modern world and spends her head tucked between the pages of a fantasy book entailing magical adventures. Furthermore, Winslow lives an inhibited life – tightly controlled with careful calculations and a life of no risks. Winslow is a control freak that has to have everything in between her fingers because surprises make her extremely nervous and being taken aback is unsettling for her. She enjoys knowing that everything is orderly and predictable – which, perhaps, is why her life is so boring, because she knows everything that is going to happen. Unfortunately for those who do know her, they will often have to deal with her rather morose personality. Winslow is a moody teenager who will have moments of melancholy and somedays cannot seem to get out of bed. She is rather pessimistic and has a hard time seeing the good in anything!

But, what she’s really ashamed of, is her level of geekiness. Winslow embraces the life of a fangirl – she must know everything about the things she enjoys and, opposite of her personality, becomes rather passionate and excited about her literary wanderings and movie choices. She overanalyzes books and uses such forms of entertainments as an escape from her daily life. Cosplay is a natural step in life for her and she could talk hours, days, years about hobbits and house elves.

B A C K G R O U N D:

Life started out simple enough for Winslow. She was born in a small town near Mobile, Alabama to parents that have never left the state, let alone the country. They grew up small town, and lived small town. Winslow’s parents were high school sweethearts that made the mistake of marrying too soon and grew up hating each other. Around nineteen years old, supposedly Winslow’s mother gave birth to her which ruined her dreams of going to college and obtaining a career (or maybe it was her lack of motivation and a ready excuse that allowed Winslow’s mother to settle). Winslow’s mother settled as a waitress while Winslow’s father made money through his mechanic career. As the marriage went on, Winslow’s mother and father realized they hated each other and divorced like most high school sweethearts.

Of course, that’s just the story that Winslow believed. In truth, the mother who raised her was not, in fact, her mother. As is, Winslow’s father had an affair during their marriage with a distraught and equally married goddess. Athena had been lamenting over her failing marriage with her husband while Winslow’s father had been ranting about his wife’s laziness. Alcohol led to activities and activities led to the duo reserving a nearby motel room. When Winslow’s father came clean about the affair, the marriage fell even further apart, but they stayed together. They stayed together even when Winslow was dropped off on their doorstep with a note, only a vague idea of who her mother really is – they certainly didn’t think it was the goddess Athena. They stayed together for a long time, until Winslow was eight, but raising another woman’s child must have taken its toll as well as the hate they started to bear for each other.

After the divorce, Winslow’s father picked up other recreational activities to fill the time that, before, had been used to argue with his wife. Such activities being alcohol, sex, and drugs. Though Winslow knew her father loved her, her father slowly was engulfed by addiction and soon loss functionality in regular day life. He was fired from his job after coming blackout drunk and he could no longer support his daughter. They lived day to day on the small amount of money that Winslow’s grandfather sent in. When Winslow was twelve, she got a job at a restaurant where she was paid under the table (tax free, thankfully) because she was too young. However, when Winslow’s father attempted to pick up Winslow from school while intoxicated, the school’s administration called child services. In court, Winslow’s father was seen as unfit as Winslow’s guardian and his daughter was put into the foster system.

For a couple of months, Winslow bounced around in the foster system – house to house. However, when Winslow’s father did not clean up his act, months turned to years and Winslow became a teenager. Of course, the two kept in touch as much as they could and had supervised visits; but it wasn’t enough for the lonely Winslow. She grew up roughly, always feeling unwanted by her mother, father, and all the foster families that took her in and turned her back over. Eventually, Winslow came to the Smith family. They were a generic, suburban family that was taking in a foster child for the first time. However, Winslow grew on them and they on her, so they stayed together for quite a while (they would have adopted her, but Winslow didn’t want that because of her hope of her mother coming back for her). They bought her a computer, gave her the nicest clothes they could, and even sent her to nice schools. Maybe it's because they are so good to her that Winslow hasn't come out of the closet yet; she's afraid that the extremely conservative family will send her back like everyone else has.

When Winslow was sixteen, she was approached by a woman while in public with her friends. Though Winslow was reluctant at first, she indulged the woman in sitting down and talking about her family – granted, the woman said she was a friend of her father’s who wanted to check in on her. They exchanged phone numbers with the promise of having a dinner soon in order to talk about Winslow’s father. It would be only a week later that Winslow would get a text message. While the woman, whose named was Athena (while Winslow thought it was an odd name, she didn’t really question it considering she’s known people with odder names), wished to meet at her home, Winslow was wary because of Stranger Danger. Instead, Winslow planned a meeting at a restaurant that was almost guaranteed to be crowded on a Friday evening. At said restaurant, Athena revealed Winslow’s true parentage – though it took some convincing, Winslow eventually came to the realization that her whole life was a lie.

Winslow and Athena began to visit each other in secret in order to get to know each other. Winslow even told Athena of her true nerdy nature. They grew close over a couple of months and eventually Athena offered to adopt Winslow and take her to live with her. Winslow was conflicted over the offer – because on one hand, Athena was her true mother and she’d finally found someone who wanted her, but on the other hand Winslow felt as if it was a betrayal to her foster family. She thought over it for two weeks before coming to the conclusion that she couldn’t do that to the current family housing her, because they were her family when she had no family, and Winslow declined Athena’s offer. However, Athena still wanted her to hone her skills, and managed to convince Winslow to attend Olympus Academy. Winslow’s upcoming year at the academy will be her second year, having first attended when she was seventeen.

Gravity:

Due to Athena's prowess in architecture and knowledge in physics, Winslow demonstrates slight ability in manipulating gravity. It is nothing extremely powerful, only that she is able to control the balance of objects. For instance, Winslow could use her powers to walk across a tightrope, but she could not use her powers to stop something in midair or to make someone float.

All-Seeing Vision:

Like owls, Winslow is able to have a total 360 degree sight. However, she typically doesn't like to use this power as it can give her a headache after a while.

Aegis Summon:

Winslow can summon Aegis, the goat skinned shield with the head of a gorgon on it. However, Winslow can only obtain Aegis for an hour and even then the abilities of the gorgon head are temporary. If she were to turn someone to stone, it would only last for around thirty minutes.

History:
<sub>Min-kyu was born in South Korea just two years before his parents became naturalized citizens of the United States. They moved to Pennsylvania with him shortly after, and this is where he grew for most of his childhood. In all, he had a fairly uneventful childhood in Pennsylvania. He went to school, made some friends, had the usual teenager angst… Through all of it, though, he developed a strong moral compass and a desire to work hard at whatever he put his mind to. So, when his family moved to New York City (he was seventeen at the time), he was more than ready to take on the competition and make a name for himself.

Min-kyu (now going by his recently acquired nickname, Leo), finished his high school education in the Big Apple and spent the following year shopping his resume around at various advertisement companies. As low/middle-class immigrants, his family didn’t have the money to send him to college, so it was difficult for Leo to find a place that would hire him, but eventually he scored a job at Crossroads Film Inc. The starting pay was low, and he was only given the measly task of holding the boom mic, but it was the stepping stone he needed to get started in the world of advertisement.

Over the next six years, Leo’s combination of hard work and creative ideas won him higher and higher positions in the company. Currently, he is working as part of the Crossroads Film Inc. advertisement think-tank, although he aspires to someday become a director within the company.</sub>

Winslow is a scholarly woman who likes to spend her time learning and thoroughly picking a part every bit of information she can find. If Winslow wishes to have an opinion on a certain subject, she researches that subject till her fingers are cramping and cut! In addition, she is a rather thorough person, overall. Winslow diligently and carefully sorts through all the facts, assesses all the evidence, and measures all the risks before doing anything. As a nice compliment to such a knowledge-seeking personality, Winslow often has to have a dedicated and diligent mind. Matter of fact, Winslow is one of the hardest working people her friends have ever known – she will work herself to death if she could (and many of her friends back home predicted that she will become a workaholic in the future). She will spend hours making sure she reaches her goals and often has to be dragged away from whatever she is currently working on. However, she has plenty of time to do work considering she is intensely introverted and will become emotionally distressed if around a group of people for more than a few hours at a time.

Of course she is not without her bad traits. Other than being temperamental, Winslow is rather apathetic towards other’s plights when it does not directly involve her. She tends to live life with a lack of vigor, only going through the motions. She is rather bored with the modern world and spends her head tucked between the pages of a fantasy book entailing magical adventures. As it is, though she holds many opinions, she has no care of arguing for them or changing others’ minds to see it from her side. Furthermore, Winslow lives an inhibited life – tightly controlled with careful calculations and a life of no risks. Winslow is a control freak that has to have everything in between her fingers because surprises make her extremely nervous and being taken aback is unsettling for her. She enjoys knowing that everything is orderly and predictable – which, perhaps, is why her life is so boring, because she knows everything that is going to happen. Unfortunately for those who do know her, they will often have to deal with her rather morose personality. Winslow is a moody teenager who will have moments of melancholy and somedays cannot seem to get out of bed. She is rather pessimistic and has a hard time seeing the good in anything!

But, what she’s really ashamed of, is her level of geekiness. Winslow embraces the life of a fangirl – she must know everything about the things she enjoys and, opposite of her personality, becomes rather passionate and excited about her literary wanderings and movie choices. She overanalyzes books and uses such forms of entertainments as an escape from her daily life. Cosplay is a natural step in life for her and she could talk hours, days, years about hobbits and house elves.

B A C K G R O U N D:

Life started out simple enough for Winslow. She was born in a small town near Mobile, Alabama to parents that have never left the state, let alone the country. They grew up small town, and lived small town. Winslow’s parents were high school sweethearts that made the mistake of marrying too soon and grew up hating each other. Around nineteen years old, supposedly Winslow’s mother gave birth to her which ruined her dreams of going to college and obtaining a career (or maybe it was her lack of motivation and a ready excuse that allowed Winslow’s mother to settle). Winslow’s mother settled as a waitress while Winslow’s father made money through his mechanic career. As the marriage went on, Winslow’s mother and father realized they hated each other and divorced like most high school sweethearts.

Of course, that’s just the story that Winslow believed. In truth, the mother who raised her was not, in fact, her mother. As is, Winslow’s father had an affair during their marriage with a distraught and equally married goddess. Athena had been lamenting over her failing marriage with her husband while Winslow’s father had been ranting about his wife’s laziness. Alcohol led to activities and activities led to the duo reserving a nearby motel room. When Winslow’s father came clean about the affair, the marriage fell even further apart, but they stayed together. They stayed together even when Winslow was dropped off on their doorstep with a note, only a vague idea of who her mother really is – they certainly didn’t think it was the goddess Athena. They stayed together for a long time, until Winslow was eight, but raising another woman’s child must have taken its toll as well as the hate they started to bear for each other.

After the divorce, Winslow’s father picked up other recreational activities to fill the time that, before, had been used to argue with his wife. Such activities being alcohol, sex, and drugs. Though Winslow knew her father loved her, her father slowly was engulfed by addiction and soon loss functionality in regular day life. He was fired from his job after coming blackout drunk and he could no longer support his daughter. They lived day to day on the small amount of money that Winslow’s grandfather sent in. When Winslow was twelve, she got a job at a restaurant where she was paid under the table (tax free, thankfully) because she was too young. However, when Winslow’s father attempted to pick up Winslow from school while intoxicated, the school’s administration called child services. In court, Winslow’s father was seen as unfit as Winslow’s guardian and his daughter was put into the foster system.

For a couple of months, Winslow bounced around in the foster system – house to house. However, when Winslow’s father did not clean up his act, months turned to years and Winslow became a teenager. Of course, the two kept in touch as much as they could and had supervised visits; but it wasn’t enough for the lonely Winslow. She grew up roughly, always feeling unwanted by her mother, father, and all the foster families that took her in and turned her back over. Eventually, Winslow came to the Smith family. They were a generic, suburban family that was taking in a foster child for the first time. However, Winslow grew on them and they on her, so they stayed together for quite a while (they would have adopted her, but Winslow didn’t want that because of her hope of her mother coming back for her). They bought her a computer, gave her the nicest clothes they could, and even sent her to nice schools. Maybe it's because they are so good to her that Winslow hasn't come out of the closet yet; she's afraid that the extremely conservative family will send her back like everyone else has.

When Winslow was sixteen, she was approached by a woman while in public with her friends. Though Winslow was reluctant at first, she indulged the woman in sitting down and talking about her family – granted, the woman said she was a friend of her father’s who wanted to check in on her. They exchanged phone numbers with the promise of having a dinner soon in order to talk about Winslow’s father. It would be only a week later that Winslow would get a text message. While the woman, whose named was Athena (while Winslow thought it was an odd name, she didn’t really question it considering she’s known people with odder names), wished to meet at her home, Winslow was wary because of Stranger Danger. Instead, Winslow planned a meeting at a restaurant that was almost guaranteed to be crowded on a Friday evening. At said restaurant, Athena revealed Winslow’s true parentage – though it took some convincing, Winslow eventually came to the realization that her whole life was a lie.

Winslow and Athena began to visit each other in secret in order to get to know each other. Winslow even told Athena of her true nerdy nature. They grew close over a couple of months and eventually Athena offered to adopt Winslow and take her to live with her. Winslow was conflicted over the offer – because on one hand, Athena was her true mother and she’d finally found someone who wanted her, but on the other hand Winslow felt as if it was a betrayal to her foster family. She thought over it for two weeks before coming to the conclusion that she couldn’t do that to the current family housing her, because they were her family when she had no family, and Winslow declined Athena’s offer. However, Athena still wanted her to hone her skills, and managed to convince Winslow to attend Olympus Academy. Winslow’s upcoming year at the academy will be her second year, having first attended when she was seventeen.

Gravity:

Due to Athena's prowess in architecture and knowledge in physics, Winslow demonstrates slight ability in manipulating gravity. It is nothing extremely powerful, only that she is able to control the balance of objects. For instance, Winslow could use her powers to walk across a tightrope, but she could not use her powers to stop something in midair or to make someone float.

All-Seeing Vision:

Like owls, Winslow is able to have a total 360 degree sight. However, she typically doesn't like to use this power as it can give her a headache after a while.

Aegis Summon:

Winslow can summon Aegis, the goat skinned shield with the head of a gorgon on it. However, Winslow can only obtain Aegis for an hour and even then the abilities of the gorgon head are temporary. If she were to turn someone to stone, it would only last for around thirty minutes.

There isn’t anything really impressive about Honey. He is of average height, an unimpressive five feet and ten inches, and his body is rather lean with a bit of muscle, but nothing of note. Honey’s skin is surprisingly pale considering the fact that he is a Southern boy, born and raised in the Sunshine state. Despite being twenty years old, Honey still has a very youthful appearance that makes him appear more of a teenager than anything else, and his face still has a bit of baby fat. The most impressive part of his face is his blue crystalline eyes that shine even when he isn’t crying – depending on the lighting, his eyes can go from a dark grey to a light shining blue. Honey has slightly thick dark brown hair that is usually neatly combed. He goes back and forth between growing it out slightly long enough to cover his forehead and keeping it cropped short – right now he favors it being cropped short because it makes him look older. Honey has a scar on his knee from an accident with an arrow where he had fumbled and accidentally cut his knee, leading to having to get seven stitches. About midway of his back, to the right, Honey has a fist sized purple birthmark in an amorphous blob shape. Once upon a time, Honey had a pierced ear but it has since closed up (he found the earrings irritating because they caught on everything). Honey smells like the woods and something unnamed but citrusy.

It has been remarked that Honey has the hair and eyes of his father but the slight build and personality of his mother - something which Honey likes to pointedly ignore.

C L O T H I N G S T Y L E:

Honey has two default styles: casual and ivy league sophistication.

Honey prefers to wear casual clothing when he needs to get dressed quickly, he has no one to impress, or he is particularly feeling lazy. It’s the traditional blue jeans, a t-shirt that’s not too tight and not too loose, and a thin hoodie that is kept unzipped. When he’s wearing such clothes, he likes to slip into his cat-decorated vans or his beat-up converse.

Honey’s sophistication clothing is usually used for special occasions (but casual clothing) and when he wants to make a good impression but not look too dressed-up. It’s just an assortment of nice knockoff cashmere sweaters (who willingly pays for a five-hundred-dollar sweater? Not Honey), nicely kempt and form fitting jeans and casual slacks, hair gel, and dark colored coats. When he wears them, he tends to vibe that sophisticated smart guy from an ivy league school who probably enjoys photography and reading the constitution.

However, whenever he’s hunting, Honey wears camouflage and thick layers if it’s in the morning paired with expensive hunting boots.

Honey doesn’t like people. It’s not because he has a personal vendetta against them or anything – he just feels uncomfortable around other people. He’s socially inept when dealing with others and has a hard time communicating what he thinks on a subject or how he would react in a situation. Because of this, he tends to be quiet and reclusive when in conversations, preferring to nod his head and keep his mouth stuffed so no one can ask him a question. Because of his awkwardness, Honey is rather shy and will never initiate a conversation with someone else. Instead, he prefers to watch from the sidelines rather than participate – therefore, speaking in front of people, talking to other people, and being dragged into crowds are the bane of his existence. His social ineptitude doesn’t stop at friendly conversation, either. Honey has no idea how to approach someone he is likes. When it comes to flirting, Honey would rather set himself on fire because he simply does not know how. Furthermore, Honey cannot recognize when someone is flirting with him, either, and is rather oblivious to other people. He struggles with reading other people’s emotions, especially when it comes to romantic interest in him.

Honey is unsure of what came first – his social awkwardness or is preference for solitude. Did he become solitary because he was socially awkward or did he become socially awkward because he was solitary? It’s the chicken and the egg all over again. Either way, it remains that Honey is a lone wolf. He likes to spend his days alone, either reading in his room or in the woods walking and hunting. Honey goes at lengths to avoid people – this isn’t to say that he doesn’t have friends, he has plenty of friends…internet friends. Internet friends give him the social interaction he needs and the time to himself that he needs. Plus, if he does something embarrassing, all he has to do is change his username and dump them unceremoniously: problem solved. Maybe it’s because of his nonattachment to others that he isn’t the most loyal. Not that Honey goes out of his way to gossip and betray friends, but he dumps his friends too suddenly and is easily coerced into gabbing (though he doesn’t mean to and doesn’t think that what he is doing at the moment is wrong, but it has its backlashes).

Many would suspect, considering his shy and conservative nature, that Honey follows the rules. Well, he actually has a rebellious streak, believe it or not. Honey enjoys living spontaneously and sometimes gets the urge at night to sneak out and drink, or break into school at night out of curiosity, or spray paint a building for the sheer fun of it. In this way, he’s much of a thrill-seeker and likes to live on the edge. But Honey is not a rebel without a cause. Much of his more daunting law-breaking is mostly linked to his activist personality. Perhaps he had gotten it from his mother, but Honey is a very concerned citizen about the environment and political issues. He even likes to spend his time at rallies and can spend hours signing petitions. Honey is always advocating against deforestation, littering, pollution, animal cruelty, and even supports some social-political issues like gun laws, marriage for all, and black lives matter.

Despite all of these things, Honey has a cruel image. Because of his inherited bad temper and innate bloodlust from his mother, Honey snaps easily and is prone to fights. He has a hard time reigning it in and controlling himself and has sent people to hospitals before with broken noses and has gone to the hospital as well for broken knuckles. When he is angry, Honey is unreasonable and just wants to hurt someone for whatever reason, thinking it will make him feel better (though it rarely does). It’s due to this side of him that people often don’t see his incredibly kind nature. Honey is selfless in that he rescues kittens from trees and kids from getting run over by cars; he has no problem giving his only dollar to a homeless man or walking a woman to her car when she feels unsafe.

Above all of his attributes, there is one thing that remains incredibly important to Honey (even more important than the ecosystem) and that is independence. Honey values his freedom above everything else and would rather die than have that taken away from him. Perhaps that’s why he avoids people, because he doesn’t like to be bound by societal standards (though he still is) or maybe because he doesn’t want to have to be polite when he doesn’t want to be. Honey is very independent and likes to live his life how he chooses – whether that be drugs and alcohol or straight-A’s and college scholarships. It’s because of this independency that Honey struggles to ask for help and would much rather fix the problem on his own, as to avoid having to settle it in a way that he does not want to.

Of note, he’s also a sarcastic little shit.

B A C K G R O U N D:

There’s not much to say about Hunter’s parent’s epic romance except that it wasn’t that epic at all. Hunter’s father, Johnny (known very commonly as Worm by relatives), had just finished up his fourth year of college – matter of fact, it was the night of his graduation where he had met Artemis. Hunter’s dad had gotten properly shitfaced, as per tradition of celebration, and he and his buddies thought it’d be fun to go play with a bow in the woods in the middle of the night. There he had almost shot a beautiful maiden with his arrow, but luckily she had been quick enough to dodge it – even luckier, she ended up in his bed that night. Bada bing bada boom, a baby was conceived via Johnny’s poor life decisions.

Of course, Johnny didn’t know about Artemis’s pregnancy until she had delivered the day old baby to his doorstep in hopes he would care for it. Johnny was by far not ready to take care of a kid, especially on his own, but knew that he had to take responsibility for his actions lest the child ended up in the system. So, Johnny moved from his nice apartment in Michigan back into his hometown in Florida, with his grandparents. His grandparents, born and raised Southerners with a penchant for chewing tobacco and NASCAR, were disappointed in their son but agreed to help him raise Honey.

Growing up wasn’t that difficult for Honey. He had the love of his dad and his grandparents who fostered his activist nature and nurtured all his dreams and hopes. Though he’d be lying if he said he didn’t care about his mother – Honey cared a lot about the subject of his mother. He wondered why his mother didn’t want to keep him? Why did she abandon him without even a phone number to keep in touch with? When he asked his dad about, his dad said he didn’t know – but he wasted no time telling Honey that his mother was missing out and made a sore mistake. After a while, the questions stopped keeping him up at night, but instead fueled him with anger if it was ever brought up and a niggling irritation in the back of his mind.

The first time Honey had met his mother was when he was nine. Weird things have started to develop with him and she stopped by to check on him and explain things. The whole encounter had seemed deeply impersonal and it struck a chord with Honey – because, at that moment she revealed herself to be the Goddess of Childbirth, yet the woman who birthed him had no familial attachment to him at all? Honey decided then and there to hell with Artemis (after that, he went to church daily and constantly talked about how cool Norse mythology was to spite her). The second time Honey got a visit was when he was twelve, after his grandpa died. She stopped by to pay her condolences and her presence angered Honey even more (because how dare this woman show up to a family funeral like she could even be considered anything close to that?). He ended up destroying a couple of plates that night, in a blind rage, and got into a scuffle with his fifteen-year-old neighbor. Honey never really heard much about Artemis’s other family, the happy family, the better family, but he knew that it must exist considering she had a ring on her finger and a girl’s picture in her wallet.

There was a third time Honey came in contact with his mother – but it wasn’t face to face and could hardly be counted. He was seventeen at the time and had been getting into fights recently (a friend of his had just come out of the closet and they did live in the middle of nowhere Florida); at that time, he had been kicked out of his school and his father was struggling to find a new school that would make commute easy while still being able to take of Hunter’s grandmother (who hadn’t been well since the death of her husband). The contact came through a letter sent by Artemis, detailing Olympus Academy and how they would be willing to take him – something about giving him an opportunity to hone his skills and find kids that he could fit in well with? While his father thought it was a good idea to go there, Honey was more preoccupied with how creepy it was that Artemis was keeping tabs on him.

Honey honestly didn’t want to go to the academy, just because he meant he’d have more ties to his mother than he wanted. Nevertheless, he went, if only to give his father and grandmother peace of mind. He’s been there for four years now.

Artemis, the Goddess of the Hunt.

Their relationship is rather distant and cold. Honey likes to pretend that Artemis exists and Artemis just sends the occasional helping here and there. However, the two times that they met, the conversation and air between them felt very impersonal. Honey doesn't know much about Artemis at all, but has inferred two things from her interactions with him: 1) she's keeping track of his going ons (which creeps him out) and 2) she has another family.

G O D L Y A B I L I T I E S:

Hunting & Tracking

Being related to the Goddess of the Hunt, Hunter displays an innate ability to understand the movements of wild animals. He is incredibly deft in tracking animals, trapping animals, and hunting animals. His knowhow allows him familiarity with how to approach an animal on the hunt – where to hide, how to move, how to conceal his presence. It should be noted that this hunting abilities do not completely transfer over to the tracking and hunting of a human, as humans are more unpredictable and intelligent than an animal – while it is possible, it is harder and requires more attention than the simple relaxed and easy movements of hunting an animal.

Archery

Artemis’s repertoire of skills relies heavily on her ability to shoot a bow. She is known for having perfect aim and can never miss a target. Hunter has inherited such a gift from his mother, and finds the bow fitting easily and comfortably into his grip. However, he does not have the perfect aim his mother does, though he will hit his target eight times out of ten. Unfortunately, because he finds the bow settling so easily into his arms and because his body is innately trained to hold a bow and not much else, Hunter is nearly useless with a gun. If he were to hold a gun, he would probably end up shooting his toe.

Night Vision

Artemis is the Goddess of the Hunt, but it is most notably stated that she hunts at night. As such, Hunter has inherited the ability to see better and more clearly at night than the typical mortal. His eyes adjust quicker to darkness than others do and he can see more shapes – however he does not see as clearly as he would if it was day time, he simply sees better than most, enough to get by. Unfortunately, his eyes are a lot more sensitive to light and it makes him very grumpy if someone were to turn on the light while he is sleeping.

Shapeshifting

Artemis possessed the ability to shapeshift into any animal she wanted as well as shapeshift other people into animals. Hunter only possesses the slightest ability of shapeshifting and can only shapeshift into Artemis’ sacred animals: the deer, the bear, and the buzzard-hawk. Hunter can only remain in such a form for three hours before he loses energy and it can be extremely painful to shift.

Enhanced Reflexes

Being of godly blood, Hunter’s reflexes are a tad bit faster than a normal mortal’s. He reacts faster to situations such as something being thrown at him or falling, but it is honestly not that impressive.

Honey’s very conflicted about Cecily. Being around is rather hard for him, considering how intimate and affectionate she is, and it frankly makes him a bit uncomfortable and he never knows what to say or do. So, instead, he just stuffs his face if there’s food nearby so he doesn’t have to talk. Despite how uncomfortable Honey can be around her, he admires her – he desires to be her friend because of how easy she is with people. He doesn’t really know how to be her friend, though, so he just nods along when she talks to him, mostly. It’s easier for Honey to talk to her over text message, like with most people, because that way she can’t constantly seek physical affection.

They originally met in the cafeteria on the third day of Honey's second year at the academy. Honey had arrived late and his usual empty table had been taken. He was about to dump his untouched food in the trash and walk out when Cecily offered a seat next to her for Honey. Honey, being polite, and slightly hungry, decided to sit. Their first meeting didn't yield much of a friendship and Honey booked it before she could ask for anything to keep in touch with him - he even made up his mind to put her on the avoid list. The next day, however, he had to eat with her again (he got the hiccups because he ate so fast) and the day after that and after that. Eventually, he ended up giving her his phone number and by Honey's third year, they had a weird slight friendship. A friendship where Cecily did the talking and Honey nodded along, mildly distant. It's really only over text message that he talks back, but even then he's reserved.

They met on campus and A.J. had no problem talking to him when he had meant to retrieve a dropped piece of paper by her feet, mostly small talk and of the likes. Honey's semi-unresponsiveness led her to become disinterested real quick, however. Honey doesn't have to try much to avoid A.J., as she seems just as reluctant to talk to him unless she's trying to coax him into some social encounter or another. Matter of fact, Honey doesn't even know if she realizes that he's avoiding her.

Honey has mixed feelings about his friendship with Birdie. On one hand, Birdie’s sudden and blunt nature often catches him by surprise and it always takes a moment to recover, but on the other hand she does all the work in the friendship. Honey doesn’t have to bother with talking as she’s always rambling to him, probably in hopes of getting him to talk more – he refuses. She’s also constantly complimenting him, calling him cute and sending him cheesy pickup lines – while he usually flushes when they’re face to face and mutter a half-assed compliment on her hair or shoes, he can’t help but laugh once in the privacy of his room. They text a lot, back and forth, and Honey tends to enjoy the conversations they have and sometimes replies more than two words (though it’s not as common). Honey does find her attractive – she is the daughter of Aphrodite, after all – but he would set himself on fire before he would tell her that.

The first time they met was super awkward, probably one of the most awkward moments of Honey’s life. It can’t even be considered a conversation when all they were doing was sitting next to each other after exchanging pleasantries. The second time, however, Birdie was a lot friendlier and Honey resigned himself to his fate. Birdie is on the avoid list, but she’s not in the Top Ten as, though he might pretend, Honey does enjoy her company.

Honey doesn’t like Laurel in the least. Ever since that day on the archery fields when they had made eye contact and his cousin initiated that god forsaken competition, Laurel had been nothing but a pain in the ass. No matter where they are, if they’re in the same room, Laurel gets that same challenging glint in his eye, making a competition out of nothing and Honey can’t stand it. Honey hates feeling inferior to others, that’s the only reason why he participates in these stupid competitions (or that’s what he tells himself). To make matters worse, Laurel somehow got his hands on Honey’s number and texts him these days to initiate even more challenges – some Honey lose and some Honey wins, but on the plus side Honey knows he will always be the best archer.

The truth is, Laurel makes Honey a bit flustered – not in that romantic way, but in a tense fiery way and it’s rather frustrating for Honey. In person, Honey has no clue how to react to Laurel, most of the time he stays silent, but occasionally Honey will sling a few harsh words at Laurel politeness be damned. Laurel is #2 on Honey’s avoiding list – but, unfortunately, Laurel is rather hard to avoid. A lot harder than, say, Tessa or Cecily. And annoyingly persistent (but maybe it’s because Honey encourages the challenges).

How is he supposed to feel about a sudden half-sister? Honey rather not think of it all and continue on with his life without sisters and mothers and burdensome feelings. Nevertheless, Honey is semi-polite when he can't get away fast enough, though he intentionally never answers any questions.

They get along fairly well in their emails, as Honey often lends an ear to Felicity when she needs to get things off his chest and always responds to her immediately. They talk so extensively that Honey picks up sometimes when Felicity isn’t like her usual self, though he doesn’t know why. The anonymity of their relationship typically allows Honey to be a lot more forward with how he feels, not really afraid of making a bad impression – but he doesn’t talk about himself that much. Despite their intimate friendship, Honey doesn’t like divulging personal information and remains a bit reserved. However, he doesn’t go out of his way to hide little things and so Felicity might have picked up personal information in passing. Lately, emails between them have been slightly spotty, and it worries Honey that she might be losing interest in their friendship, but he’s always quick to respond to her anyways.

Honey and Felicity first made contact when Honey stumbled onto Felicity's art on an online site. He had commented on it, complimenting her, and she had replied. Soon they were sending PMs and eventually exchanged emails. Honey likes to see Felicity's new artwork a lot and has even printed a few to hang on his walls. Bora is an Asian girl of average height, being five foot five and weighing a healthy 123. 4 pounds. She is of Korean descent, both of her parents having been born in South Korea. The teenager prefers to keep her hair long and of a darker shade, though she will lighten her hair time to time with a dash of dyed red, and is overly concerned with her personal hygiene. Before she goes to breakfast or goes to bed, Bora performs a regiment skin care ritual on her face in order to keep it clear and soft and places protective hair products in her strands to keep it silky and shiny. When Bora was fifteen, she was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) which affects her body weight and menstrual cycle. As such, Bora can only have a small amount of sugar a day and tends to obsess over the amount of calories she intakes.

When it comes to her physical appearance, Bora treats her fashion choices with care and dons only designer brand clothes. She prefers to wear lace and cotton when it comes to her clothes and she has a predilection for dresses. Her personal style could be described as a sophisticated preppy fashion style with her trendy, simple dresses or high-waisted skirts. Bora likes jewel or peter pan necklines over any other neckline and downright refuses to wear a sweetheart neckline. Many claim they hate Bora, even though they don’t know her. When asked why, they provide the typical answers: arrogant, spoiled, shallow, stupid. Some of these traits are important pieces of Bora’s personality, but a great deal of them aren’t.

Negative Traits -

There’s no point in lying and saying that Bora is not shallow – when it comes to material items, Bora is as shallow as they come. She has an inner need for things to look visually perfect: pristine clothes, silky hair, organized pencils. Money helps her buy items that make her world visually perfect: Gucci, Prada, Versace. Bora wants to look, and feel, her best and so she has a tendency to see others that don’t look their best as a) insecure, b) lazy, or c) clueless – but never ugly. Furthermore, it is not much of a stretch to say that Bora is spoiled. At a certain point, she stopped asking her parents for something and just got it with her credit card. Worse still, Bora is the type of girl that when she wants something, she will get it and she is thoughtless in that she never thinks of how her ambitious and indulging will affect her later on or others. As such, people see her as careless and childish rather than the sophisticated, careful woman she emulates to be. Her playful nature and emotional outbursts furthers others' opinion of her as immature and juvenile. Adding to her shallow and superficial image, Bora is hot-tempered and, when she believes she is wronged, will hold lifelong grudges, even if it is over something completely petty.

Positive Traits -

However, Bora is not without her virtues. She possesses a light character, playful and with an odd and soft sense of humor that is oddly endearing to others. When she begins something, Bora throws her whole self into it, showing an admirable dedication to her endeavors. She, overall, is devoted to truth and justice and the pursuit of intelligence. She is very hard-working and friendly, with an ambitious arm reaching for anything she can get her hands on. Bora is friendly and always tries to include everybody; she also retains a refreshing, liberal open mind that leads her to fighting for what she believes is right in the world. Plus, Bora is rather smart and studious, enjoying learning about the world and sees schooling as fun rather than a prison - though she hates homework and tests with a passion.

Ji-yeon was born in Seoul but moved to Busan where she met Jay Park. She was a very ambitious young woman who, despite not coming from a wealthy family, understood the workings of the upper class due to her experience as a maid. When Jay married her, it caused a stir in the family because she had been his maid at the time and it caused a scandal. For a long time, she was not accepted in the family. However, the extended family acts nice to her face and in public because of her upstanding reputation amongst socialites.

Geun is the first son of Jay Park, but not Ji-yeon. He was born from an affair and in order to hide it, Ji-yeon accepted him as her own and raised him. Many of his grandparents insult him behind his back and his father avoids him because he is a deep reminder of his mistake. However, Ji-yeon, who may not be his biological mother but has always been his surrogate one, has always been by his side, cheering him on and even threatening to leave his father in order to protect him. He had plans to go to culinary school, however he has been meeting obstacles in the form of his father who does not want him to pursue such a career, instead wishing him to go to college for business.

H I S T O R Y:

Bora grew up in a rich, traditionally conservative household in Busan (before moving to Seoul when she was twelve). Growing up, Bora never really received a lot of physical attention from her family, but instead was showered with material items when she felt lonely. As such, Bora always felt like she was being ignored. Her older brother, on the other hand, never really had that problem. He was the bastard child of their shared father and a random affair with another woman. Because of his lineage, Bora’s parents often showed most of their attention to him – negative and positive. Their father, who was ashamed of his affair, was often very critical of Geun and spent most of his free time (which was already few and far between) lecturing Geun and ensuring that he followed an impressive path. Bora’s birth mother spent most of her time doting on Geun in order to make him feel a part of the family, despite the fact that he was not hers by birth – unwittingly making Bora feel like an outsider in her own family. Due to this upbringing, Bora relied too heavily on material items and less on other people.

Bora never had any friends, probably a few acquaintances, but never any close friends. She spent most of her time by herself or by having ambitious social climbing teenagers follow her around while she was shopping. Either way, Bora was a bit of an outcast because of her shallow personality and was often the brunt of everyone’s gossiping. Bora is under a lot of pressure from her family to live up to their standards and she is stressed because she wishes to impress them and finally get the attention she wants. In high school, she became a part of the White Tigers.
