I'm interested, but I also want to import my Character from the old thread, with some modifications of course. @McHaggis@Apokalipse@Undine I can provide a link if you want it.

I answered this in the PM you sent me ^-^
@Apokalipse what kind of half breeds can there be? Like can there be Half goblins? Half Or part Veela's?

Me and the GMs talked and we've decided that if anyone wants to make a halfbreed they must PM ALL of us (HalfofLancelot, McHaggis, Undine, and me, Apokalipse) and tell us what the character concept is and why they're a halfbreed and how that will help their character develop.

While we don't want to discourage people from trying to make halfbreeds, we're very wary of having too many of them and their heritage not serving a purpose. Most of the time, we will only allow known canon halfbreeds - so anything too out there will most likely be rejected.

We live in an interesting time––one of great change and upset that is present in every inch of magical society. Lord Voldemort in Britain was only the beginning, and his death sent cataclysmic shockwaves through the various communities that we are still feeling the effects of, almost twenty years later. Certain liberties that were once taken for granted are now being questioned, and a movement to protect wizarding homes from a dangerous upswing in creature violence across the Republic of Magic has sprung up over the course of a long, arduous decade, and with it counter-protests and riots.

While that is all happening on the outside world, Salem Witches' Institute stands tall and proud as a beacon of neutrality as has been its long-standing tradition. It is a place for adolescent witches and wizards to learn, and it matters little to (most of) the staff how much of their blood comes from pure lineages. As you come into your later years of schooling here at the institute and interact with the world at large through newspapers and broadcasts from the Republic of Magic, the rebellion might affect who you aspire to be as a person, no matter what side of it you lean towards.

Nevertheless, it should be said that Salem Witches' Institute is as safe as it can possibly be, and the protection of the headmistress extends to The Peregrine––the 'modern' and 'American' equivalent to the Hogwarts Express that brings its students home.
Would it be possible to have a half-breed merperson, I would be sure to include the genetic discomforts of combining a land creature and water creature? My character would be most likely to be placed into Good even if the idea isn't accepted so its all goodie. Just have to spend some hours looking for a group of pictures that are perfect...

I will not accept a merperson, sorry. They're considered beasts, not beings.

EDIT:

A lot of half-breeds will be accepted on a case by case basis
I feel I should ask a couple simple questions before I get seriously started on my character, so, here goes.

The only major question I have is whether or not a Half-Breed, specifically the product of a Leprechaun and a Squib, would be acceptable as a player character. It's a concept I've always wanted to try and just never gotten a long enough run to do so. Granted I'd probably have to switch him from an Irish kid in Hufflepuff to...a kid from Boston in Tituba? Hmm.

As for minor things, while I know a person requires a license to handle a Kneazle, would it be possible to have one as a familiar since first year if said character passed off a Kneazle kitten as a regular cat and got the license in later years? If not, I understand and can just as easily have him acquire a Kneazle at a later date rather than as an admittance present from a mostly absentee father.

Final question: I know I should probably wait for more information to be added into the OP but I can't help myself (if the answer to this question is edited in, boy, will I look silly.) are there any specifics regarding whether or not it's kosher to fill up positions such as Captains of various House Quidditch teams, Head Boy, etc? I apologize if the answers to any of these have been answered and I just haven't read stuff recently enough to know, in which case, feel free to call me an idiot.

I just want to be a lazy good for nothing Half-Leprechaun using his Kneazle to scam unsuspecting first years, dammit.

After talking with my co-gms, we decided not to accept any leprechaun heritage as Leprechauns are categorized as "beasts" in Harry Potter lore and not "beings." As for kneazles, I'm inclined to turn that down too because it's not really that plausible as they are rather dangerous to other wizards and a young kid probably couldn't tame one. However, in Salem Witches' Institute, there are a lot looser terms on what you can have as pets: eagles, hawks, cats, some dogs, most rodents, and some reptiles within reason (nonpoisonous snakes, toads, etc. etc.) are allowed ^-^.

Yes, positions can be filled - and the list of already taken spots are under the character tab - and its to mine, and the other gms, discretion if the character is right for the position or not. Most of the time, it will be whoever gets accepted first - but not always.
Heh, this is what I have so far. I haven't decided on his fears (and therefore his boggert) yet, and have some looking around for some of the other stuff. History and Personality are thought out but not yet typed. Also, [.hr] Does nothing... I believe you wish us to remove the (.) like so.

I forgot the mentions, I'll do that when the character sheet is done and I repost, is that okay?

Yup! Sorry, we're so used to putting that in character sheets; we figured The Protocol was common knowledge by now! Will add a warning!

And yes, it's okay if you repost it later or link us back to the original post with us tagged ^-^
Do you mind if we put or Work in progress Characters here, or would you rather we wait until they are done?

it's okay to put WIPs in here ^_^ I like seeing things in progress - but when your done, make sure to link us back or to post it again with all of the GMs tagged
OOC IS HERE

Sorry for those being asked to be tagged, but I'm a little pressed for time right now! ^-^;
IMPORTANT UPDATES

Okay, i will not be accepting anymore Warren or Bishop characters after I check over these two CSes that are already ready.

Also, I just wanted to make a clarification on familiars or pets (not a call out to you write, 'cause others have done this too (: ). I don't know if I put this anywhere, but I'm really lenient on pets when it comes to normal animals to have as pets + some birds of prey. So non-magical cats, non-magical dogs, most snakes that are domesticated and typically owned, and rodents that are domesticated and owned. I also accept eagles, hawks, and falcons + owls since they are used for messages (eagles are the preferred in 'murica.)
