C-class planetoid
1.2 LY from edge of realm

-two weeks after the battle-

The trip from Waalid to the newly conquered planet only took an hour or so by slipspace so ferrying workers and equipment was relatively easy. Hundreds of dropships dropped out of the sky with regularity with a symphony of sonic booms as they broke the sounds barrier during re-entry. The planet’s surface was already beginning to look the part of Nül mining planet. Most of the vegetation in certain areas had been stripped away and massive amounts of lumber were being cut down and stacked for easy transport. The ground, which used to be lush fields of grass, were now swamp like muddy expanses. Tracked vehicles roamed back and forth over the terrain carrying men, supplies or material to and from the multiple dig sites, belching large clouds of black smoke as they churned over the terrain. Any remaining natives were rounded up and either killed or made to labor in the horrific mines that dotted the landscape. The planet was rich in resources, which the Kingdom needed to further expand their empire. Ships would be built, armor would be researched and materials would be stockpiled for easy access at a later date, a tremendous victory for the Kingdom of Nül.

The Nül never felt like they needed to update their technology past wind powered sail ships. On the surface if the homewards, society is stuck in some neo-renaissance era lifestyle. Castles, walls and moats are still the norm, while the citizens live either within the castle walls or out in the countryside, farming or raising livestock. At first glance it would look like this civilization never evolved past the 18th century. If you looked closer however, then you would see some truly unique feats of science. Machines did most of the labor while the Gajda themselves sat back and simply supervised. Communication had to be clear so communication between worlds, ships and buildings was done holographically in real time. The entire empire stuck in some nostalgic past while remaining very much so in the future, it would feel rather quaint for visitors and misleading for invaders.

Their space fairing vessels followed the same trend, they were modeled after 18th century warships of old ( where they got the idea….no one knows). Solar sails powered the vessel while small engines acted as a directional rudder. The only alternative propulsion method was the jump drive, creating a wormhole that the ships calmly slipped into before gently being accelerated up to great speeds. The quarterdeck of all Nül vessels were exposed to the vacuum but shielded with some magnetic field, keeping the oxygen heat in while keeping out the harmful radiation. This magnetic field didn’t shield the crew from any projectiles but was designed to keep the artificial atmosphere contained. Crewman commonly walked around the exposed top deck without protection, only dawning protective equipment during combat or to tend to the sails. For armaments ships used fairly large plasma cannons, firing a variety of ammunition. Slug shot was the common and everyday round, firing a supercharged slug that smashed or melted its way through armor. Explosive shot detonated on contact with an object, scoring or melting away armor with latent plasma residue and shooting shrapnel and plasma around an area. Chain shot was probably the most unique of the ammunition types, two large slugs on either end acted as a conductor for the chain in them middle, superheating it to melt through armor as it passed. Chain shot was specialized to fighting other ships similar to the Nül, where disabling sails was normal and required in naval combat. The ships could be as big as Ships of the line carrying 60 cannons and various point defense weaponry or as small as 12 cannon frigates.
The Vengeful Soul was no different, as a ship of the line it carried 60 cannons along its side. Manned point defense turrets complemented its 3 floors of cannon bays and smaller swivel guns dotted the quarter deck. Its three giant masts towered above the ship only adding to its monstrous size, holding the broadcast system within its form. Below decks, the crew ate, slept and went about their daily chores. Cleaning and preforming maintenance on the cannons was a daily task, on top of standing watch. This was the off hours of the cycle and most of the crew was sleeping with only a handful standing watch on the quarter deck. This was the crown jewel of the 13th expeditionary group leading a fleet of twenty ships, frigates, supply ships and troop carriers. The entire fleet was slowly moving away from the planetoid as a large wormhole appeared in front of the flagship, soon the entire fleet slowly slipped into the wormhole before accelerating suddenly off into space.

13th legion ( Wraiths)
General Laurentius De’bonaparke

“Form ranks!” a company officer shouted as men scrambled to respond to the order. Getting shoulder to shoulder with other soldiers as more men fell in behind them. The hiss and whizz of projectiles was a constant sound as the men quickly formed into three neat ranks, three men deep and ten across. This order was echoed around the battlefield as the other companies did the same, getting ready to march across the field and take the fight to the enemy. “ Fix ! Bayonets!” the officer cried again, seemingly unfazed by the volume of fire that was coming his way. Battlefield etiquette stated that all officers must remain fearless and gentlemanly in combat, all orders must be clear and concise with no sign of a wavering voice. “ Forward! March” he yelled for the third time as he pulled his saber from its sheath as he began walking, electricity arcing and crackling from the blade as it was removed.
General De’Bonaparke and his senior commanders stood behind the army on a nearby hill as he watched the battle commence, puffing on a pipe as he barked orders to his field telephone operator. It was truly a beautiful day for a battle, the sun shined bright through the light cloud cover, making it a comfortable temperature. Large pine like trees made up the perimeter of the large field with tall grass hiding the legs of his soldiers marching. “ Mister Pullings, to my side would you kindly..” he said with the utmost calmness, even as field cannons fired to his rear. His second in command, Colonel Gaul Pullings slowly walked up beside him, his face contorted in a questioning manner “ Yes sir?” he said respectfully, eyeing the battle below “ I feel like we are missing something Mr.Pullings…wouldn’t you say?” Laurentius said with a nod. “ Quite sir, I believe I know what you speak of. I will remedy it presently…” Colonel Pullings said with excitement in his voice as he walked back to the radio telephone operator. “ Have them fire a a full volley each” he barked as the field telephone operator nodded in understanding, relaying the message to the officers on the field.
General De’Bonaparke weaved a strand of tall grass through his fingers as he looked down towards the dirt. This planet was chosen for conquest because of the vast amounts of resources it held. Metals, minerals and other various flora and fauna of study. It was mostly empty save for a collection of traitors from Nül who trained and equipped the native population with weapons stolen from the kingdom. Officially, they were quelling heresy and bringing traitors to justice. Unofficially, and the real reason the 13th legion was there was to wipe this planet clean so it could be picked of its resources. Expansion was the new focus of the king and the king’s will was Laurentius’s command. The sound of a rifle volley brought his attention back towards the battlefield as a vapor trails dissipated from the treeline, killing a few of his soldiers as they marched forward. With the precision of an expert trained force soldiers filled in the gaps without missing a step, stepping over the bodies of their dead and dying comrades.

“ Halt!….Present! the order echoed through the different companies, each block stopping as the command was heard. Soldiers quickly shouldered their rifles, pointing them in the direction of the enemy fire. It was all carefully choreographed, the first rank kneeled, allowing the second the shoot over their heads while the third rank placed the weapons over the shoulders of the second. “ Fire!” the officers yelled as the Nül lines erupted, sending bolts of plasma screaming into the tree line before reloading. Soldiers worked their bolt actions as fast as they could before coming to a stand still again, waiting for the order to fire. “ Fire second volley!” the order was screamed as the soldiers fired again, splintering and burning the treeline as their bolts ripped through it. It wasn’t long before the ground below the soldiers began to smoke and ignite, giving the Nül marines an eerie fiery backdrop. “ Thank you Mister Pullings, that was exactly what I was looking for…” General Laurentius said in a cheery tone “ Now lets finish this, order the charge…”. It didn’t take long for that order to get relayed to the officers in the field as they soldiers and officers alike broke ranks and charged into the smoldering forest.
Wait are we IC?
That the entire reason I chose the uniforms, think napoleon in space! I will be best colonizer, best Imperialist!

I just couldn't find a good picture of french uniforms. Besided, my troops will be perfect gentlemen....war-fighting gentlemen
Ive never played the bad guy before, but this nation will definitely be the bad guy lol

Mostly still a work in progress, ill add more things when they come to me
Name of Nation: The Kingdom of Nûl

Species: The original race of the Kingdom of Nûl is the Gajada, a pale humanoid race. They followed much of the same evolution cycle as their human cousins but sport mostly cosmetic differences. They have no real advantages or disadvantages compared to the human race, they are just pale humans with weird noses.

The Gajada:

Government: The Kingdom of Nûl is an absolute monarchy, all power rests firmly on the shoulders of the King and the rest of the royal family. The same family has ruled the Nûlan for close to a millennia, fighting off coups and invaders alike. Under the King’s command are other lords from the various territories around the kingdom, thee lords make up a council which act as advisors to the king. The Kingdom is extremely imperialist and staunch expansionists. They will not hesitate to invade for resources, territory or even glory.

Planets: The Entire Kingdom of Nûl encompasses two neighboring worlds. Waaild and Hubleaux are both large alpine planets with cold wintery climates. Both planets only have two seasons, a dry season and a wet season. The Dry season has no snowfall but remains cold and clear for the majority of the season. During the wet season it snows almost the entirety of the season and remains overcast. It can be dark for up to twelve hours at a time during the wet season and light for as little as two.

Military: They military is split into two sects, Für Shalkur and Für Guäša. The Guäša also known as the Kings Guard, are elite heavy infantry that are only responsible for protecting the realm. They act as a police force and internal security, answering only to the king. The Shalkur or marines are the only expeditionary force in the Kingdom, they are made up of common infantry supported by heavy artillery and aircraft. The Shalkur fight in ranks, using their numbers increase the chances to hit their targets.

The Navy ( Für Shalkur): Operates the starships and other orbit ready craft and is the only expeditionary force in the kingdom.

The Army ( Für Guäša) Made up of heavy infantry, responsible for protecting the realm.

Tech:

Energy manipulation: Some Fûr Guäša carry energy manipulators that can be used to arc electricity from the gauntlet to a target or to lift and move object without touching them. This is common amongst high ranking soldiers and officers.

Personal Warp Drives: Special teams of Fûr Guâša have personal warp drives that can teleport the individual to another known location. The location must be able to be within line of sight and works best when it is a flat open space. Past trials of teleporting inside buildings resulted in the fusing of atoms with rocks and steel walls, ultimately ending in death.

Personal Jump Drives: Fast attack guards carry an air powered jump pack, allowing them to accelerate, jump and fly over obstacles. These are used by teams who are trained in the use of fast attack tactics.

Holographic communication : advanced holographic communication has been perfected in the Kingdom, due to the high amount of trade that must be done on a daily basis. These communication units can be as big as rooms and broadcast the holographic images of 10+ people in their full form and in real time. Or they can be as small as an apple, only broadcasting the face and shoulders of an individual.

Trade slip-space gates/ highways: Using the magnetic acceleration technology. Nûl scientists placed these accelerators in their trade highway network. These accelerators take ships and accelerate them much like the weapon accelerates a round, making it possible for these ships to reach unbelievable speeds which cuts down on travel.

Plasma Rifles : Fur Shalkur uses bolt action plasma rifles as their primary weapon. These fire small but powerful bolts of plasma that melt through armor and carry significant kinetic force. The rifles eject battery cartridges that generate the plasma. These ejected shells are -extremely hot- and are prone to setting dry foliage on fire, adding to the effect of this fighting army. Fur Shalkur uniforms are fire resistant as a result.
