Il stood there looking over the Caravan. He looked over the distance and cast a spell that allowed him enhanced sight. With a sigh he walked over to the caravan head and nodded. “Looks like my adventure will have to wait.” He said out loud so that everyone could hear him. “Seems that war is going on full steam.” He said as he scratched the side of his face. He was deciding if he wanted to be in this war. Well, not be in it but help those in need. It was strange and stupid of him… he thought.
“Hakkon what are your thoughts on this war that is going on?” Ilthallan asked the young man as he walked over to him. Zenotha and Arralf followed closely. “I think it would be safe to leave tactical decisions to you. I would also like to know where you stand.” His hand idly playing with his ring. It had some kind of second ring within the first and it allowed him to spin it. He seemed at a crossroad and didn’t know where to go and what to do.
“We could just keep going North, North West and we will hit another settlement.” Arralf suggested. Ilthallan didn’t dismiss his words and nodded signaling him that he had heard Arralf. “We could do that but I think we should stop off at the merchant guild and drop off our supplies. I will probably leave you in charge of the caravan Arralf. Assuming you don’t think me just another dumb elf.” He said with a smile. “In my few months of traveling with you and the rest I found that you were the smartest out of the Caravan masters. If you keep going about selling your wares like I did then you will do great. Don’t forget though just work the people. Lie and make them like you. Or if you can tell the truth… people like that better.” He said as he rested a hand on Arralf.
“Zenotha I would like for you to travel with Arralf. He may not say it but I think he has a crush on you.” Ilthallan said and with that Arralf turned around as he walked off stomping the ground with each step. Zenotha looked at him with a smile and then back to Ilthallan. “If anything you could keep him out of trouble.”
“But I…” She started and with that he hugged her. “I have grown to like you and most of the people in my caravan. I cannot have that weakness when I move around. I will end up charging Arralf twenty percent of his gain… maybe fifteen or ten. But I need someone with your skills with him. I saw what you did and since you will not tell me the truth I cannot trust you.” Ilthallan explained to her. She started to tear up and he held her close.
“Don’t worry it will only be for a few months, a year tops.” He tried to make her feel better but it wasn’t working. He broke the hug and planted a kiss on her lips. He could taste the salt from her tears but her eyes stopped and widened for that moment. She melted against him letting out little moans. Soon he broke the kiss and looked back to Hakkon. Ilthallan’s face was a bit red as he has never shown anyone that kind of affection.
“I will need a personal guard to help me along my travels. I would ask you but as you lead these men I would like to take on your next best, if possible.” He said as he walked around the caravan and pulled out a contract. Well, it was parchment and quill and ink. He started to write up the terms of the caravan as well as the single contract for Harkkon’s man or woman. Even though he told her to go with the caravan Zenotha was probably going to stay with Ilthallan.
