Dragiša Cvetković was elected to be our leader in February. He was appointed by Prince Paul in an effort to bridge the rift between the Serbs and the other . So far this has worked, but as Dragiša sees the conquering of Poland and how quickly they fell to the Nazi invasion he begins to rethink his situation in European politics. He addresses all of the League of Nations saying "My country is small and is near the expanding Nazi power. This makes me in immediate danger from Adolf Hitler, and I am asking for help from the stronger nations to defend my borders which my fathers have fought to keep for a thousand years. We have faced hardship after hardship and we will face another soon as I do not trust my flimsy excuse for an alliance with Germany. my country will be the last front of Eastern Europe from full Nazi occupation. I am asking for mechanized ground troops to aid in the protection of my small nation from the expanding Nazi Empire."
Back in Yugoslavia the army is mobilizing and will defend their country with all they have. They are setting up all of their mechanized units to be at the northern border of Yugoslavia and their order is "To protect Yugoslavia from foreigners like their ancestors would have." The army is also setting up their mortars in strategic positions along the coast to prevent a sea invasion while the ground troops prevent a land invasion. To prepare for an invasion of Yugoslavia from Hungary bridges above the Drava are set to blow up with the word of a commander.
The leader in the army is Milutin Nedić and he quickly gets to resetting the command chain in the army. His first action would be to get more generals who weren't Serbs. He kicks out his brother who was too high in command for his likes and who is now a common foot soldier holding the lines up north. He now has 1 Croat, 1 Bosnian, and 1 Serbian who will consult with him before he makes decisions in the military. This, he hopes, will make the other races appreciate the military decisions that will be made from now on. He also expects that this will help mend the gap of the military generals being almost all Serbs and that there are disproportionality more Croats in the foot soldier ranks than there should be. Yugoslavia will also send a letter to the Italian leader and the Albanian leader saying that "The Albanian people would much rather be under Yugoslavic control than be oppressed by the Italian government. You can hand it over or we can shed an unnecessary amount of blood to take it. Your choice."
