It's happening again. I have been visited by a soviet mad scientist, a king, a penguin prince of darkness, a house plant god thing, a mystical ancient member, a tired reaper (thank god) + a greeting.

Thanks for the heads-up, we must've missed it in the initial clean-up. The most efficient way is to probably send a group PM to all the mods, that way whoever is online at the time can pick up on it, the enxt quickest would be to post with a mention to all the mods.

I wouldn't worry too much about double viewing, it's better than leaving something particularly unwanted on the forum for too long while any one mod is offline.

I've always stuck with one in particular, but I have to admit that's a sound strategy... I shall keep it in mind.
Actually, I do have an alt realm character concept.

Please stand by as I get off my lazy butt turn the concept into reality...
Once you join, you can never go back.
11 would be... interesting indeed.
But I'm making this because I never made an introduction in the first place; it appears I missed the forum entirely at first. Either that or I was being lazy. So... welcome me late?
Huh, thought I closed that little portal behind me.

Still here. :P

And in the Arena?

I believe that area has its own little culture of commonly accepted rules, but one would have to read through the threads there and possibly ask questions.

The arena does appear to have an advanced level of roleplay in most of the ones I've seen.
Right then.

Rules generally go by the following (many are unspoken, some are changed by the GM, but generally this is how things end up working):

-First person is rarely used, if ever. Some folks go so far as bashing it. If you're a first person kind of guy... hate to scare you off, but there aren't too many of that sort of mind.
-Fights, actions, the like that affect other characters go like this typically (in an ideal situation): One person posts what they intend to do (y slices at x's leg, intending to sever it) and the other person accepts it as they will (x dodges, x is severely wounded in z spot, etc). If you have a high enough degree of trust with each other you might be able to get away with performing minor actions without waiting for an extra post responding to it.
-I suggest starting off with a free RP of your choice (if you're accustomed to a slightly higher standard, there are threads there and posters that do go beyond a bit). They aren't very high-key and get you attuned to how things on the site work. As you grow more comfortable, try casual; it's probably the most diverse section and for me is the best balance. If you want to spend time putting high amounts of depth into things, don't mind reading extremely long posts, and/or don't mind making such posts, advanced might be an option. Tags on the top of the thread you're in (in the roleplay sections) indicate which level is expected if you find yourself in a 1x1 thread or something in the nations forum. Specific rules do vary.
-If you're unclear about anything before joining or have quirks that may or may not fit in, ask. It helps :)
-Magic systems, except perhaps in tabletop or some advanced ones, are typically freeform and depend greatly on the preference of the GM around here.
-Have fun. You will learn soon why there's only happy people on here... the ones that aren't are removed.
The cave has a certain extra element to it coming soon which I will post in due course. It will come after your folks pass through it, so don't worry... yet.
Flamers have only really been useful in Battletech, to my knowledge, in Mechcommander Gold. In the rest of the games, they either do extremely low damage, have heat problems limiting their alleged usefulness, and don't generate enough enemy heat to be practical.
I'm rather behind, but I'll get on it. One thing I need to make sure, though.

I have a bit of an activity problem, so to cover myself well, I join if I can have a window of a week or so to get caught up on posting, and I do give warning that if I can't fix my internet soon I'll have some downtimes. Weekends being the ones for now.
