Agreed on the corporate quagmire we are creating. But good fun. As for hostiles I'm still contemplating the Bloody Brothers from the first go around. A regressing settler tribe gone native and uncivilized that just generally wants to blow shit up. If anyone wants to take over SKYGUARD, ELYSIUM City or the United Terran Government I'm all for it.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind taking over one of those things if there wasn't the fact I'm investing bucketloads into a single corporation, and so that would make one player controlling a pretty big military production corporation and then UTG/Elysium/Skyguard...

I think I will be a wee bit lazy and delay the stocks until the thread for RP itself is made. One of various attempts to balance things out.

I'll have some individual chars important to TSDC up via CS pretty soon, as well as NPC relative factions. @LordZell has expressed interest in joining the corporation; at this point we have <insert some high rank> set. :P If it does work out I see it meaning either collab postings or I post and he adds on top of mine in the next post.

@Rhymer - still wondering how much I'm willing to invest in this. On one hand, worldbuilding! On the other... less attention for this and another one (which actually was supposed to be up by now, I'll have to poke the GM on that one). So for now I'll resist throwing actual weight into it, but I might get into it at a later point. Heck, if I wasn't deeply invested in two Rp universes (on this site, never mind others) I probably would have offered to help manage things.

ATLAS (A True Cooperative Worldbuilding & Roleplay Game)

I get what you mean, since a world without plothooks is pretty boring really. Anyways, quickly threw together a couple of pitches I guess.

Pitch #1

Humanity has sent out its first set of space colonists to Alpha Centauri! And not a moment too soon, as not long after they leave its discovered that magic is in fact real when an ancient evil emerges and lays waste to Earth. Whoops. With the Sol System uninhabitable, the colonists end up, well, colonizing an Earth-like planet, and not long afterwards they discover that they're not alone, aliens exist and some of them are space wizards or something. Over many generations, the descendants of the colonists spread out amongst the stars, make alliances and enemies, and continually dream about the liberation of their ancient homeworld.

Pitch #1

In a world where magic and science existed in harmony, a dark master emerged, but their attempts to conquer all were thwarted by a group of heroes. Unfortunately, somehow the world itself was shattered during their confrontation, leaving it as a bunch of floating islands orbiting the old core of the planet. Over several centuries, different cultures, civilizations and species blossomed upon the many floating islands, some embracing magic, some technology, some both and some neither, whilst mighty skyships were built to bridge the larger gaps between islands. Meanwhile, away on the largest island of all the dark master slowly regained their strength, and the time will soon come when they re-emerge to lay waste to the shattered world...

@ArenaSnowMy main worry about that idea is that it's kind of constricting and doesn't leave much room for anything other than demons and grimdark. ^^;

Little busy with stuff at the moment, but I'll try and write up a more involved pitch in a bit.

Just the overall pretense to start with - doesn't really excuse resistance groups, other kingdoms (possibly), the like.
