It's happening again. I have been visited by a soviet mad scientist, a king, a penguin prince of darkness, a house plant god thing, a mystical ancient member, a tired reaper (thank god) + a greeting.

I will add the commentary that I intentionally assisted with @RokkuHoshi's most recent submission on the grounds of their request. With the intention of - @ArenaSnow, @IcePezz - helping to establish and solidify the entry as remotely possible within the context of what little lore of the world that I myself know. From the start I acknowledged that the submission might suffer difficulties due to previous canon with dragons in the story.

However, at the same time I need mention I am strictly against multiple player characters per each player. Furthermore of my opinion, and mind you it is nothing more, I am of the agreement an enchanted miner, or child of a demigod, is unwise. Even a "shade" concerns me, largely because of my Dungeons and Dragons expertise. I do acknowledge the effort to "move away" from that design, but I admit it is potentially one of the "safest" and most versatile sources available - it is an excellent starting point.

In short, while I hold no authority, this is the insight I can and do offer for sake of maintaining this roleplay; too much effort by many has been invested into it to risk any damage such as retcons or uncharacteristic elements.

Indeed... retcon avoidance and consistency with the roots is what I'm gunning for in anything added to this at this point now that there's a base to work with.
Nothing. I'm a perfect example of a person who can fit into any character or situation with a totally individual personality.

Bullshit. My characters are usually cynical, scheming but ultimately cowardly little fucks that just want power and wither away when too many folks come after them
To chip in, a yea for the CS quality @RokkuHoshi.

On the miner topic... magic coming from a god would at this point need a pretty good explanation behind it as there are no defined gods as of yet in Waeldeshore lore, and it would take a killer explanation for someone with the power to give such an ability to make actual sense (and by someone that powerful, I mean deals with top end demons, some loaded blessing by a higher-end angel as they don't do things for free either, enchantment by a mage)... I don't quite see that one fitting. Mutations of that sort are rather like being struck by (non-human generated) lightning in terms of chance. I've nothing new to add on that IcePezz hasn't put up.

Shade might be a hit or miss concept; depends on how well it hits. Since Harbinger appears to be backing the design of the characters, perhaps we can have a convo as to how that would fit in, GMs and the two of you, to iron out that particular design? It's hardly impossible, just takes a little integration.
@ArenaSnow, just for reference while I mull it over until tomorrow, I imagine the entire room is divided by the debris? I imagine the magi is not even visible at this point, and further yet, I am curious as to if he intentionally forced Sakaala out of the way - which is what I seem to take away from it.

With that, goodnight once more.

It would appear that move was intentional. :)

And yes, I imagine the room practically covered in debris from the effects of a not so small store room coming on it, and there was an existing hole in the floor further destabilizing the room. In fact, I think folks are moving around a little too easy for that mental image to still be fully applicable at the moment :P
Hate to be a party pooper, but I'm going to have to shoot the time idea down as it's really a concept this universe wasn't designed for.

I'll have to let IcePezz comment on the other two.

Keep in mind you don't need to make quirky concepts have a magical twist to make a good character.
Some info I've established to consider:

-Designing a character's skill level, I strongly suggest you base it on your Battletech knowledge. I'm not expecting everyone to be elite pilots.

-Combat thus far is to be based largely on a loose RNG system, where I basically come up with stuff on the spot based on general rules and common sense to see how likely actions happen. Likely going to use RPG's newly integrated system for that. Pilot skill will factor into this.

-Come up with a decent distribution of stats, 6-20 points usable (20 for you elites out there, 6 for a new pilot) to place into Gunnery, Piloting, Sensors and Blind Fighting.
--Gunnery is the raw measurement of pilot skills that will go into the shots you fire. Makes for better hits.
--Piloting lets fancy moves like jump jets have a better chance of working, allows you to get better chances when dealing with melee situations, and indicates how good of control you have over your mech.
--Sensors helps your chances of detecting "little blips" on the radar. Could help ya in the event of an ambush... who knows... and it helps things like target info gathering and gives a small bonus to targeting computer systems.
--Blind fighting is basically a luck modifier when the odds are stacked against you. Doesn't do much in an even fight, but if you're ambushed... it might save you.
-Main rule with these stats is "be reasonable". Balance them, don't go 10 and 10 - drastically imbalanced numbers may result in the other side getting lucky because you have zero counter in that category.

-We'll be set on a planet split between two factions with frosty relations with each other. If you folks want you can volunteer for command of the mercenary company you'll be forming to protect a slightly broke (but not that broke, really ^.^) arms production facility.

-Pick whatever Inner Sphere mech you want, if you don't know any I'll have a list coming up soon for folks to pick from. Keep it to be 3049 at the newest. If you really want a custom build (we're basing things off battletech stock) PM me and we can work something out.

-Big mechs = more maintenance. Just a warning.

-OOC shall come in 2-4ish days as a place for apps to be officially submitted and stuff to come together for "attack phase" of the roleplay. New entrants accepted until then! (even then, we'll see what happens)
No comment in the event I jinx it.
I'll throw up something before 24 hours are out, giving a little time in case Harbinger has something before then to add.
Well, doesn't that paint us a boring site...
'morning.
