Magical AbilitiesMai had an extraordinary amount of Mana Circuits. Do to this, she generates and takes in such a vast amount of mana at a time that she actually suffers from "clogging" if she does not constantly discharge it in large chunks.
Support-Based MagicThe type of magic that Mai focuses on is support and sense-based. She can enhance the senses as well as create alternative methods to let others see a situation, heal wounds or poisons, or create singular actions to force domino effects to create the desired effect. Essentially, she plays on Chance and Conception.
The NullDue to her vast amounts of mana, Mai is also able to create a Reality Marble. This Reality Marble --
The Null -- is nothing made to directly harm or kill an individual. Instead, it is a Reality Marble of
puzzles. Those unable to escape the blackness that consumes them from the creation of this Reality Marble are faced with...conundrums. Rooms upon rooms lined with cryptic puzzles line the world, with a time limit ticking away to signify how long the victims have before they are inevitably
assimilated by The Null to become the base for a new room of puzzles.
All in all with examination, she is not a Magi of offensive capacity. She preferences supporting to the upmost.
AppearanceCommand SealPersonalityA vivid outlook of life flowed with stark contrast in realistic situations. Mai is crossed between a girl with a head of fairytales, and a young adult aware of the fragile method of mortality. Mai blurts out what she thinks without consideration half of the time, whilst keeping her own desires and thoughts in her head the other half of the time. Despite that, her morals to fighting and trying to acquire the Flower of Eden is not for anything vicious or evil. Instead...it is only a single wish -- a single event that she wishes to cease and redact from the present time. If a single source can be so powerful...then it should be able to do what she wants in the end as well.
BiographyFrom a dysfunctional family, Mai came with a share of issues like anyone else. Her mother -- a woman sick from stress and genetically-inherited issues that sprung once she gave birth to her child, and her father -- a man that would find himself disowning his only child and kicking her out of their home, would remain a broken family in wake of her leave. From the moment that she was burn, she "cursed" her parents with poor luck and worse circumstance.
And from where, at the mere age of twelve, she had to work hard to survive. She took up a job making deliveries from a general store for the next three years. The store clerk was kind enough to pay her for her work and helped her with going to school until she was able to obtain a diploma from graduating. Despite the slight ease that came with that, she had come to develop...an issue.
Magi. Those born with active Magic Circuits that explore the path of magic usage. She was born one, but she was born
flawed. An unprecedented amount of Circuits -- breaking past triple digits even with the complex system that her body had -- all took in mana too quickly for her and found her in a constant state of bedridden physical exhaustion. This lack of being able to help made her understand the concept of what it was like to be so
helpless, and she was ready to resign to wasting away.
Until reading and mention of the Holy Grail.
A single artifact that could grant any wish, one of insatiable power. A war that would go on for it...? She had time to read of it, time to learn, time to find out about it and more...So why not give it a chance?
Magic was to be learned first. With Circuits like hers, dispensing enough for every spell was not of major concern. Yet she focused on those of the quieter nature -- her mana pool made her afraid of attempting to cast anything inherently destructive. And she became used to being able to support. To be able to slice her own arm and see to t healing back up in an instant with her spells. Something to vent out the repressed mana she had slowly recovered her body, the more exhausting the spell was.
And then came what could not only help her participate, but very well save her life. The Summoning of a Servant. Servants required mana to sustain themselves, and she had plenty to give. If it could help her win that Grail for one, single...selfish wish, then it would be worth pains to come in the end, would it not?
QuirkMai sometimes resorts to taking a pill known as Duotine to suppress her Circuits. It stops her from risking her life from mana overflow, but puts her under heavy amounts of psychotic hallucinations, renders her paranoid to extreme levels, and causes her to suffer from extreme insomnia. Duotine was created by a Magi that told her of the Holy Grail War, and tends to give her the pills in secret due to the nature of what could be done to others with them.
