Star Wars(AU) - After Knightfall

Debecca Esscan

Debecca sat in the cockpit of his Headhunter floating in orbit around Mandalore waiting, he was flanked on either side by an ARC fighter all the ships painted in the Basilisk Squadron colors. Debecca had been lucky although it had been less than a month since he had been cleared to return to service, Basilisk squadron had been newly formed and picked of mainly fresh recruits meaning he hadn't had to go to far out of his way to reign in the group and this was going to be their first real assignment. Babysitting an Idol.... Even worse than that a late one....

He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, this was one of the rare occasions that Debecca had choose to wear his Formal attire instead of a flight suit or his Mandalorian Armor but, there was little to no chance of combat and he was going to have to escort someone around so this is what his superiors thought was best. Actually they had wanted him to leave the space escort to his Squad and for him to be waiting at the spaceport, but that wasn't the way Debecca operated and they knew that. He took a moment to glance at the time 15 minutes late... But it was then that one of his Squad chimed in "50 Credits that she had to get her hair perfect." Fixer the gunner of the left Arc fighter claimed. With that comment being fiercely rebuked by Drake the pilot of that same fighter who was apparently a huge fan. Debecca let the squabble go on for a little bit to let the boys blow off some steam, that was until the call came through. "Alright boys just got word they arrived everyone on your best behavior." He said over their local comms as he started to fire up his engines and move into place on escort duty quickly followed by the other two fighters.

Debecca took his place above the CR90 while the Arc fighters moved to the flanks of the ship. Things had gone smoothly just as planned and after entering orbit Debecca broke off from the formation allowing the other two ships to finish the escort while he went ahead to reach the landing pad first. The designated pad was more than large enough to accommodate all four of the ships Debecca made sure he made it there first taking a spot off to the side allowing the CR90 to land in the center of the pad.

After landing Debecca hopped out of his ship patted out any wrinkles that he could see and grabbed his hat before moving to the front of the pad where two other members of his squadron were already waiting dressed in the standard Mandalorian armor. It only took a few more minutes for the Ship to land and for Aroma to exit the craft. Debecca gave her a smile as she walked up. "Welcome to Mandalore Miss Paff. My name is Debecca Esscan, and I have the honor of being your escort around the capital this fine day."

-Cybernetic Leg, unlike the arm Debecca’s leg is clearly Cybernetic foregoing the real looking as his leg would rarely be seen by others, starts at his kneecap.

-Ace Pilot, With ten years of combat experience Debecca is a damn good pilot and it’s been said that a few different commanders have gotten in fights trying to secure his skills.
-Decent Shot, although not a dead eye Debecca still trains almost daily with his blaster to keep himself capable in case of a ground fight.

| {Limitations} |

-Not good in the cold. Due to his cybernetic limbs alongside his almost reptilian nature Debecca doesn’t do as well in the cold. In mildly cold environments his nubs will start to pain him which can lead to all the normal symptoms of being constantly in pain.
-Still not used to this, although it has been three years since his accident Debecca still isn’t fully used to his cybernetic arm just yet. he may fumble to grab onto something with it or misjudge his reach at times.

Due to leading a hard life, Debecca doesn’t open up to people quickly. He comes off as stern and harsh quickly getting to the point of what he is trying to say. But once you get to know him you find out he does care about his comrades even if he doesn’t outright show it all the time. Also luckily despite his skills he doesn’t come off as a hotshot pilot who brags about every time they down an enemy.

Born on Belsmuth II Debecca was Orphaned at an early age, and with no one willing to take care of him he grew up on the streets. his first few years or urchin life was filled with stealing what he could and taking whatever handouts others were willing to give him. That all changed on the day he tried to pickpocket from a Charles Esscan, Admiral in the Republic Navy. Debecca’s arm caught as he had attempted to take the credit chit from the man’s pocket. The man looked down at the boy who despite the intimidating presence before him stood strong staring defiantly and trying to wrench his arm free. It was then Debecca was given a life changing choice either go with the Admiral and become a soldier or be taken to the police. Debecca choose to follow the Admiral and although he now had a home, he was till alone with no real family
During this time at Admiral Esscan’s estate Debecca was put through intense training as Admiral Esscan was grooming the child to become a soldier. Each day was a new set of drills followed by housework, then more drills, and finally well after dark he was able to return to the hovel that was his home. Through these years the young boy was broken and reforged countless times. Even as the Clone Wars came to their “close” things didn’t really change, the flag above Admiral Esscan’s home changed from that of the Galactic Republic to that of Mandalore. In fact, the only real change was that Debecca’s training was increased and the boy was pushed harder, and it all copulated to what was his 15th birthday in which Admiral Esscan officially adopted the boy and sent him off to the military academy on Corellia. After the hellish regiment his father had put him through for all those years the Military academy was nothing. Debecca was top of his class in almost every aspect. And blew through the academy courses with ease. Although at this time he was little more than a robot doing as he was programed.
After graduating Debecca almost instantly enrolled into the Mandalorian Navy as a pilot. He has spent the past 14 years in the Mandalorian Navy . It was these years away from his father’s influence that Debecca started to open up again he grew from being a robot programed to kill into what he would like to consider a decent person. After years of hard work Debecca had worked his way up to Lieutenant But then three years ago it happened, Debecca's ship went down. The mission was to escort a supply ship to the Cheravh sector to aid with the building of a military base on the planet Cheravh. Things had been quiet and they were in the home stretch. Then an entire battalion of pirates dropped out of hyperspace. The fight was fierce and Debecca and his crew was able to score 5 confirmed kills during the battle and even ensured that the supplies made it planet side. Then the sensors went wild navigation, and power went dead and his ship went down. The ARC survived reentry into the planet’s atmosphere and Debecca fought his hardest to make it a survivable crash somehow bringing the ship down in a forest near the construction site. The rest of his crew was dead by the time the rescue team arrived although Debecca had survived. But he did not come out unscathed. Although he was saved, he lost his right arm and leg in the process. After he was returned home Admiral Esscan immediately put in the rec to have his son fitted for Cybernetic replacement limbs.
Debecca has spent most of the last three years in rehabilitation after the accident and with him finally being cleared to return to action he reenlisted with a new gift from his father a Z-95 headhunter Heavy variant giving him the ability to pilot a decent fighter without having to have a crew to help or hinder him, as his father blamed the crew for the failure after reviewing the back box
Debecca also has put his name on the list to become a pilot of the T-65 X wing if the ship becomes available

Star Wars AU: After Knightfall

So very interested and working up a character, just a few questions.

1. what is the standard fighter used in the Mandalrian Republic? I saw the cap ships but are we still using the ARC-170 starfighter, and the Z-95 Headhunter, or would your standard T-65B X-wing starfighter, and TIE line be in production yet? If the Ladder would the republic have x-wings as their design was just made as an update to the arc and headhunter fighters and the design was originally stolen from the empire by the rebels.

2. My plan is to have a fighter pilot character (if it wasn't obvious from the first question) who was injured in a crash during a battle and such got himself some robot limbs. What sort of hidden addons would the Mandalorian Republic allow to be fitted into these prosthetic limbs (because hes broke and would have had government pay for some nice bling after getting injured in their service). What I am thinking is a hidden blaster kinda like the super battle droids and maybe, big maybe here an implanted AI / Astromech system that allows his astromech to remain in him,complete with a security spike for hacking purposes, with a shell unit in the ship in case of the need for emergency repairs and such.

And 3. Is there an ongoing struggle/war/skirmishes going on between the republic and other factions that could be the origin of the injury and if so how long has the fighting been gong on. If not I can make the injury come from fighting off some pirates or such
