Aries

To put it bluntly, Aries was confused at the series of events that had unfolded around him. The first thing that he saw, along with the two girls that he was accompanying was a Samurai clad in red armour, pleading to the adventurers to help him in return for a large amount of riches. Aries knew what it was almost instantaneously the moment that Oni were mentioned. It was an event that many adventurers had done when the game had still existed, and he had read somewhere about an event that occurred when it hadn't been completed, yet he had never seen it even when staring in front of his PC, rather than in real life, so he was quite interested to see if some new content could catch his eye.

Aries was fairly sure that they were all thinking the same thing when Meren spoke. She proposed that they get along and form a party for the event, which in honesty, he did have qualms with but due to the circumstances and his seemingly endless depth of boredom, he couldn't bring himself to refuse the offer. Meren had put him on DPS duty, which was obvious given his class, whilst those had to be tanking. He didn't feel comfortable leaving the women to take the hits, and although this wasn't the real world, he felt as if it was extremely un-masculine, making him feel uneasy. She proposed that they find some more party members, which whilst he wasn't opposed to, he was scared of what they could possibly find given what they seemed to focus on.

That is when he noticed Matsuko speaking to an assassin after a short word to the party. He looked extremely odd, somebody with the butler subclass that was donned in a suit. He seemed to speak in a spanish accent and he shared the same class as him, even though they seemed to play completely different builds and held different weapons. He figured that a team with 2 assassins would be overly stacked with squishy characters, but he did not feel like complaining, as it would slow the process of actually getting to the raid down, and he did not wish for that to occur. He had been aching to hit something all day.

The events that unfolded after became seemingly more ridiculous as one of Meren's acquaintances seemed to notice her and greet her, and she did not look like somebody Aries would get along with. A hyperactive foxtail, but he didn't have any complaints about a high level bard joining the party. He figured that what was needed within the party was another support. The team seemed to have enough tank and damage, so something that enhanced both would be quite useful to attaining victory. If they were to obtain one more piece to the puzzle, he figured they'd be ready to go.

"Our party is nearly full now, it seems. Perhaps we should look for a final member to complete our group. That'd be the best course of action in my opinion." Aries spoke in an almost neutral tone. He didn't really feel much emotion in the current situation, so his voice came out rather dry and unimposing.

Aries

Aries was quite surprised at the variety of reactions that had occured in such a short space of time. Immediately after the fight, the pair that seemed to have some knowledge of each other were for a moment, polar opposites. He noticed the samurai grimacing as she was berated by the shield maiden for sending one of the pkers to the cathedral instead of merely scaring them off. To him, it seemed foolish to care what happened, as it wasn't as if they'd stop living if they died in game. The respawn time might give them some time to think whether acting so foolishly was worth it.

He noticed however, that the first action after the lecture was to immediately heal the samurai. He figured this response necessary, as the Shieldmaiden had done some damage to the girl in her reckless charge, and he admired that, even if he disagreed with many of her prior points. Someone who is not afraid to take responsibility and apologize for their actions was to him, somebody who was worthy of respect, as it was something that he found himself struggling with significantly.

The girl changed his offer of a walk to an offer of food and drink, with her volunteering to pay. Whilst in the real world, it would have been considered pathetic to let a woman pay for the food, he had no such qualms here, especially if she was offering. He figured he'd split the bill with the woman, as merely taking food out of her pocket would have put him in debt in his eyes, and he would not like to deal with that thought. However, the thing that interested him more was Matsuko's immediate change in attitude toward Meren once the offer of food had come up. A complete personality switch had seemed to take place, with the prior cold and annoyed person being quickly replaced with somebody who seemed to be infatuated with the idea of going to eat. I suppose it was evident with the way that the girl was devouring sandwiches prior. He was somebody who ate his meals quickly, but the girl seemed to eat sandwiches in less than a second, which was something he was half disgusted and half infatuated by.

"I'll gladly eat with you, but I cannot allow you to shoulder the cost on your own. Split the bill with me and we have a deal." Aries spoke in the kindest way that he could, which still sounded awkward and out of place given his social skills. It was however, genuine as he held out a hand for Meren to shake.

Aries grinned at the sight that had befallen him. He had expected the Samurai to finish before the shieldmaiden ended up intervening once more, but with the amount of speed and the lack of remorse she showed, it impressed the man greatly. The fact that she could casually take a bite out of a sandwich so easily after staining her hands with blood was something that had piqued his interest as well. Truly, this was an interesting human and he wanted to converse with her.

"I must say, you took them out a lot easier than I expected you to. Sorry for intervening in your duel, but I don't believe idiocy like that should be taught with a get out of jail card. It should be punished. I sincerely doubt that the pair of PKers will try that again, at least on a foe that has this much of a level discrepancy." He spoke in a much more sincere tone than previously, yet still held a undertone of displeasure.

Taking his scythe back out of the ground and sheathing it, he eyed the people that lay before him. It seemed as if the Samurai had a connection, or at least knowledge of the shield maiden, perhaps making her somewhat of a public figure on the server. This made him feel uneasy, as if he had just pissed off and intervened in something that they were doing, it could set him back quite a bit. At the same time, he didn't feel like making amends with wannabe vigilantes who think that they are the police of the world. His mind was simply too muddled to think as he decided to pull out a flask of vodka out of his magic bag and take a swig.

As the warm alcohol moved to the back of his throat and throughout his body, he got a clearer image of the path that he should take within the situation that he was currently in. He was interested in the Samurai and the Shieldmaiden, so he figured that if he went adventuring with them for a short amount of time, he'd have an idea whether they'd stay in his interest.

"This is a perfect opportunity actually. I'm rather interested in the both of you, as you seem to be very combat competent which is a rarity in what I've seen so far, especially considering that many haven't adjusted to the new method of combat. How about we settle our differences over a walk, and maybe I can make you forgive me for not stopping that fight." Aries spoke in the kindest tone that he could muster, yet it did not sound that convincing. It was almost a pattern filled with grimace, or the type of talk that you'd expect someone to say when recieving a gift that they didn't quite want.

Arthur was partially pissed off. His day had not gone to plan, in fact, none of his plans had gone the way that he wanted ever since he was trapped in the blasted game. It had been a common fantasy of Arthur but when he came to actually experiencing it, it changed his perspective on the matter. To him, this wasn't what he expected, and he wasn't too fond of it. Especially considering that he had no friends in which he could speak to. Things were pretty grim for him.

To try and take his mind off the isolation, Arthur decided that he'd venture into the forest, and find somebody to PvP, or perhaps he'd go kill something. The first thing that he laid his eyes on was going to get fought. He'd already got the hang of the combat system that had taken place within the game, it came as second nature to him. He was able to somewhat deduce how to produce food, as it seemed fairly obvious how it would work due to the way that the combat system worked. Needless to say, he still missed some of the food that he had back in Britain such as roast dinner, even with his love of Japanese cuisine. He was upset that other people had to make it for him as well, as he was quite used to cooking for himself, and honestly considered himself a pretty decent chef.

Upon arriving at the gate, he had saw somebody with a fairly rare mount entering the forest. He wasn't all that interested, but it proved to him that those on the Japanese server were definitely capable of raiding. He hadn't seen all that many high level players so far, so it was interesting for him. He figured he'd head out into the forest and look for someone to fight. He was fairly sure that the first person he saw, he was going to fight.

Unfortunately for him, the first people that he encountered was a complete and utter clusterfuck. Analysing the situation, he realized that two PKers were attempting to kill somebody at least 30 entire levels over them, so the only reaction that he could muster was a facepalm. The more interesting figure to him was a shield user with high level gear that was definitely level 90. He figured that he could probably get a good fight out of the situation, so he decided to stop the shield user intervening in the fight.

"Hey. Let the girl fight. If she loses to low level trash like this, then she deserves to be sent to the cathedral." he spoke with a somewhat bitter tone. If the Samurai could fight, he would help her heal up and have her duel him. If she died, then he'd have wasted his time stopping wannabe heroes. To stop the shield user from intervening further, he unsheathed his scythe and held it out blocking the path of the cleric that lay in front of him.

Name: Arthur Cunningham

Username: Aries "The Triumphant Reaper" (He does not maintain the nickname on the Japanese server.)

Age: 18

Race: Human

Class and Level:Assassin Level 90

Subclass and Level: Level 90 Gladiator

Guild: N/A

Bio: Arthur, as his name suggests, is not native to Japan despite playing Elder Tale on the Japanese server. His story begins in the nation of Great Britain, being born in the countryside being a brother to 8 sisters. Being the third oldest in the household, he found his life to be a constant case of having to protect his younger siblings, and having to constantly pander to his two older siblings, which made him find himself in a limbo of sorts, where he could never truly find the companionship he desired from his family, or never find somebody that he could associate with and look up to, somebody in the same situation as him.

Having reached the young age of 9, his family had moved to the nearby city of York in the name of work, which is where Arthur first began to go to a public school. Although he was smart, his social inexperience made him find himself unable to find anybody to speak to, and as a result, he was mistakenly taken for somebody who was antisocial when in fact, he was just shy and lacking in ability in conversation. This lead to a bad development for Arthur, who mistakenly saw his own lack of popularity as something that stemmed from his own superiority which led him to him possessing a large ego.

In his secondary school was where Arthur luckily found his friends due to the fresh start that he received, and this is where he first encountered Elder Tale. Firstly dismissing it as a waste of time and a 'trashy rpg', his friends pestered him to try it and despite his initial criticisms, he became hooked on the gameplay and the escape from reality it provided, as he could never truly fit in with those around him, and instead, he could be whoever he wanted within this virtual world of his. It was a nice escape from life and the stress that his studies were placing on him.

Due to his enjoyment of the game, he found new motivation for life and found himself trying exceptionally hard in his studies, leading to him graduating his secondary school with extremely good grades, allowing him to get into the college he desired. He saw it as bizzare, as games were usually things that prevented you from achieving what you wanted, and as things used for procrasination, but as he found himself using the experience as something to drive him, and aspiring to be like the character he created, he found himself improving his social skills and his circle of friends.

Arthur had gotten so into the game that he had gained notoriety as one of the servers best pvpers, even earning the nickname as the "Triumphant Reaper" due to his extremely high w/l ratio and his usage of a scythe, something that was rare amongst players of the assassin class, as they tended to opt for stealthier, smaller weapons.

A short time before the novasphere pioneers, Arthur had chose to go to university in Japan due to an international scholarship that he'd received. Having taken the language, he was somewhat fluent yet he found himself struggling to speak in advanced terms, so he ended up coming to Japan in order to find himself gaining a stronger grasp of the language. Unluckily for him however, the apocalypse occurred sometime after he had transferred his account to the Japanese server, leaving Arthur stranded in a new world without many friends or anyone he knew. He found himself up to the challenge however, he had always desired a new start in life.

Personality:

Arthur is an extremely unique individual in a number of regards. The most notable trait about Arthur is his massive ego and superiority complex. He believes himself to be better than the majority of people at whatever he does, and only acknowledges those who are able to prove that they are better than him in that field. However, this complex is not always evident, as he doesn't often state his actual beliefs in this regard unless provoked on the matter. This lead him to have a reputation in PvP as somebody who was exceptionally humble even though the opposite was the case.

Arthur has changed significantly since encountering the world of Elder Tale as well. Whilst he used to be introverted for the most part, he finds himself being a strong social figure and constantly trying to find jokes and happiness in everything that happened to him. This was extremely prominent in his raiding parties, and although he wasn't part of a guild, he found himself being continuously invited to numerous large raids due to the reputation he had gathered as somebody who made the mood of boss fights that much better.

Despite his ego, Arthur himself is somebody who is incredibly analytical and intelligent. This showed in his studies and school grades, and continues to show through elder tale. When he isn't angry, he finds himself with exceptional decision making ability in social and combat scenarios.

Arthur is not all fun and smiles however. He has severe flaws, namely in narcissism and extremely bad anger issues. One thing that he was not able to overcome in the changes that he made with himself was his extremely bad temper, and he finds this coming out at the worst of times. Whilst he is able to suppress it when around significant company, he finds himself blinded by rage when something greatly upsets him, and this leads him to do things that are completely uncharacteristic of him, or of the Arthur that most people are familiar with. Whether this rage will carry on through the game and lead him to do something he will greatly regret is uncertain.

My character should be created soon! I've been busy the past couple days but I promise the wait will be worth it :)
Lily Natche

Lily was beginning to take a liking to this man. She didn't usually build friendships fast but she found herself liking the straightforward attitude that the man displayed. She hated those who made conversations mean more than whatever they said straight up, so Guiles simple introduction had earned her favour in a way. She decided that she felt that she needed to pay Guiles back for his kindness at the beginning of the exam, and decided to declare her intentions to the man that had brought her up to this floor with her.

"I will protect you for this phase of the exam. Feel free to conserve your strength or grab some badges, but I promise that within this section of the exam, no-one shall lay a finger on you." Lily spoke with an extremely blank tone, almost as if it was a robot speaking to Guiles.

Deciding to take a break from the grueling run that she had to undergo on the way to the exam, and finding herself thirsting for a drink more and more in the desert heat that she found herself in, she decided that she would relax until the stage begun, and leave the socialising and team building to Guiles. Turning to the bartender after her brief statement to Guiles, she felt a craving for calcium and decided to order her beverage of choice.

"2 litres of milk please." spoke Lily nonchalantly to the bartender who seemed to have a much more varied amount of emotion to the order, surprised that a girl as small as her would want that much to drink before the exam. Lily found herself guzzling the cold milk the moment the bottle touched her hand, and within 30 seconds, she had finished her drink, wiping her mouth and sighing. Her thirst had been quenched, and the ice cold drink cooled down her warm body quite well. She figured she'd analyse the situation and make a plan. She noted that Guiles was an extremely big figure, and the two of them together would likely be the strongest in the room, but she figured they needed some intelligence to their lineup. Neither of them seemed to be big on thinking, so having a higher intelligence member of the squad might help the group figure out if there's some special conditions to this trial.

"Guiles, find the smartest looking person you can." Lily spoke, whilst giving a thumbs up to her temporary companion.
