After Gaz’s ‘weapon malfunction’, Gerad just glared at the big fungai; when Gaz proudly ask his opinion, Gerad snorted. ”Da’ bit a scrap? Anybod old’r den a younglin’ would be shamed to found makn’ such a slag heap.”

Any further comments from Gerad, however, were cut short by the sound of screeching metal, and a rather wet and meaty ‘thud’. As the bit of Swarmer oozed out of the piping, he initially drew his weapon, but put it away when no living Hive creatures showed themselves. With everyone set and Sven eager to go, they set off toward the hanger, though as they did Gerad made on final modification to the detonator, tying it into his armour’s medical systems to create a ‘Dead Man Switch’; even if the Hive killed him, he’d drag them screaming into the Void with him.

As they neared, Sailas conferred with Sven about pick up, and unfortunately the Hive seemed to have taken notice of their ride out; opening the hanger access however confirmed it was much worse. Swapping his VLA to his off-hand, he drew his hammer and primed his PRP. ”Well dis be a fine mess,” He quipped, turning a bit to grin up at Silas. ”Be thinkin’ Boss, may be want’n a raise affer dis…” The horde noticed them at the same time and began to surge forwards, and Gerad moved to meet them.

Setting the VLA to ‘Beam’, he burned a line straight to the crowd of Sploders, rupturing one and causing the others to burst, while at the same time lacing the rest with plasma fire. His first volleys were for the Slashers and or Brutes he could see, and when those got lost in the crown, he just drove superheated death into any large knots of hostiles, his only aiming consideration was to not drop and shots too close to the Crimson Fang. While the PRR ran on semi-autonomous mode, he swept the VLA back and forth in an arc, cutting down as many Swarmers as he could be for they reached him; those that did make it, found his hammer waiting.

Reva stood and watched as the procession from the ship disembarked. She’d been stuck at Melin for weeks now after the captain of her last ship threw her off; it wasn’t her the Captain’s daughter had become so enamoured with her. However, she was grateful the captain had just left her in port and not tossed out onto the sands…once was more than enough.

Adjusting her grip on the duffel bag with her clothes, and the leather roll-up with her long guns, she threaded through the crowd; if they were taking on crew, she wanted to be first or second in line. She made it forward just in time to hear ‘Misha’s’ boast, followed by the captain of the Magnificent telling everyone to piss off. Reva was starting to turn away with the rest of the crowd, when the lead captive spoke up with an offer to the masses.

This is a terrible idea, She thought as she let her baggage fall to the ground. Odds are you’re going to die, rather quickly at that. Her lips wrinkled into a smile. ”Fuck it!” She muttered as her pistol cleared leather. Most people where still watching the Magnificent’s captain trying to deck his prisoner, so no-one noticed Reva, right until she pulled the trigger.

The relative quiet of the dock was shattered by the ‘clap’ of a pistol shot, the big bullet shattering the captain’s head into a pulpy mass of blood and bone. Rushing forwards, she took shots at the two crew in front of the giant, hitting one in the leg. Reaching the prisoner who’d made the offer that Reva had just committed herself to, she drew her knife with her free hand, and set to cutting his bonds. ”Name’s Reva,” She said by way of introduction. ”You best be square on your offer or by whatever you hold dear, you’ll die slow.”

Average height and moderately built disguises the fact that she is immensely strong…though said fact isn’t as surprising once one hears what she used to do. Her hair is a short cropped mass of unremarkable brown generally kept under her cap, paired with blue-grey eyes that can be unsettlingly cold. She has an enormous collection of small scars across her body, the ‘wear-and-tear’ of her previous life; and a large one in her side, which prompted a change.

::PERSONALITY::
Loud, brash and overconfident are polite ways of saying she’s full of herself, impulsive and annoying…not that she’d care. Reva intends to live life her way and to the fullest, and damnation to any who try and get in her way. On the flip side there is her more ‘predatory’ self, which tends to emerge during times of blood and fire. This Reva is a killer to the core with no remorse or morals, willing to do whatever is required.

::BACKSTORY::
She’s always been a pirate, grew up running tools for the Greasers in the engines or ammo to the Gunners; as she got older she started to do more, working her way up the ship’s hierarchy until she found her niche as a Sky-Boarder. Most ships Boarders wear heavy armour, pushing through defenders gunfire after the ships have come into contact; on the ship (the Sand Devil) Reva crewed on, they also had Sky-Boarders, a mostly female group that used catapults mounted on the top of the Sand Devil’s gas bag to launch themselves across the gap.

On blimps, they’d set charges to blow the bag open then bail, then using a line tied to their gear they jump and get pulled back aboard. The charges would blow and they’d then go sift the crash site. On dirigibles, they may use their safety lines to haul across heavier anchor lines to pin the hapless vessel, and while the crew of the victim were busy watching the Sand Devil come alongside, Reva and her cohorts would surprise them from the inside.

The Sand Devil was a D class dirigible that made a tidy pile of Dims under Capt. Dante Montana, while at the same time keeping a low enough profile that none of the big transport firms put worthwhile bounties on her. Sadly, Sand Devil’s Second-in-Command, Rudolpho deLuna wanted to ‘expand’ operations, and when the Captain said ‘no’, he staged a mutiny. Reva sided with Montana and earned a scattergun blast to her side and a trip over the railing. The only reasons she survived at all was the fact that she hit a sand dune that the ship had been skimming over, and that a scavenger crew from the port the Sand Devil had just left spotted her go over the side.

The folks at the port hadn’t know Sand Devil was a pirate vessel, if they had they probably would’ve stripped Reva of whatever she had and left her for the desert, so they brought her back and took her to the clinic. After she was back on her feet, she was put to work as a Port Guard to pay down the debt she’d incurred for the patch job.

::DESCRIPTION::
Reva is a fighter and a killer to her core. The quickest route to a solution is a straight line, usually right though some poor bastard. She tends to be loud, profane and dismissive of those she doesn’t like or trust; quick to anger and violence if she feels slighted. Prefers to spend her free time at least a little buzzed, but would rather be drunk.

Unsurprisingly Reva is also a bit of a (MASSIVE) gun nut. While aboard the Sand Devil she blew most of her Dims on some really nice self-loaders, and had built up a personal collection that rivaled the ship’s ‘public’ armory. She’s still rather sore that all of that got stolen as well.

While sober, which she does try to be when working, she’s a decent shot with a rifle.
