Just placed 2nd with my robotics team at our tournament today. Only thing that kept us from 1st place was the dreaded L word: LAAAAAAAAAAAAG!!! T_T

What a day I've had! First a blackout no doubt caused by living near the Super Bowl stadium. Then a logical leap to work on my computer offline, aka clean a bit of dust inside only to nearly break it.

Bio
What's up people, here's my intro, just deal with it. B)
Anyways, this is my first time forum roleplaying, closest thing I've ever done to this would be chatroom Mafia and organizing a Facebook faction page for gameplay, besides IRL PnP RPing. However I'm quite prudent and dedicated to being online everyday just to check for posts and such. I'm also very (overly?) assertive when it comes to dealing with game mechanics and GM rulings, and I will raise issue with the GM when I find one that's loose, unsatisfactory, or missing (I may come off as a harsh critic at times, though offering an assistant GM role would help XD).
From what this site offers, I'm interested in joining up a Free, Casual, or Advanced Roleplay thread. Specifically I'm interested in: - High fantasy - Cyberpunk sci=fi - Deeply conflict driven - Anything idealist/philosophical bound (then broken) - Based on character origin/progression - But I'm willing to try anything else if it sparks my interest!
@SilverDawn In DnD the Cure spells can also damage undead, lol. Technically called positive damage, like Inflict spells deal negative damage but heal undead as well.
Hey I won't level up if I don't do anything right? Might as well take my chances since their is plenty of tanks to help
A Level 15 Assassin DPS should be decent up to ~3x your level, with Assassinate as a finishing blow. The real problem is your hit rate, so you have to attack debuffed enemies with low Evasion.
In-game Name: "I once watched the Jungle Book as a child; since it was my favorite Disney movie I named two of my characters after Shere Khan. Lungri is my second character, which means 'The Lame One'."
Name: "I have three names: Bhutani is my family name, Hansaraj is the birth name my mother gave me, and Rajiv is the adult name I chose for myself. However when I first came to England, some friends suggested I have an English name, so I chose Randolph for people to call me by."
Age: "I am 18 years old and am happy to be free to travel the world. Log Horizon is a strange and unexpected place to begin however."
Gender: "I believe understanding my name should follow that I am male, no? By the way, my name comes from three animals: the swan, the wolf, and technically the rooster because of naming traditions."
Personality: "Well I consider myself to be a friendly chap, I'll go out of my way to help a friend in need if I'm able to. I used to feed stray animals like cats that would come begging at my doorstep, but my mother would always shoo them away. Nevertheless I learned to chase them around to the back court, and then take care of them right under her nose, ha. Perhaps if my father never took a job in the city, I would've liked to become a veterinarian."
--- History: "I was born in the slums outside Hyderabad, India, which is known as the City of Pearls. My father valued upward mobility, despite the caste system just beginning to reform; by the time I was in secondary school we had moved into a decent apartment, after he found an IT job in the city. So I was first exposed to computers through him, and I frequently volunteered at my school's computer lab to share my knowledge. By the time I graduated, I was accepted by a university in England; however I lacked the financial aid to pay full tuition, and did not want to place burden on my family, especially my sister still in school. So just the summer before, I looked for a job to help pay for my first year, when I stumbled across the internet cafe that would change my life. To this day, I'm not sure if I regret stepping across the threshold and thrusting myself into Log Horizon.
The internet cafe is home to Hyderabadi Sunaar Samudaay, an infamous gold farming guild on the Indian server. My boss was in charge of poor students and debtors like I, giving us long shifts with no breaks and taking no shits in return. My first character was not my own creation; the boss needed a Druid for raid parties, and the only right I had was naming it 'Shere Khan'. The pay was poor and I thought about quitting early, until one day a special event raid came up. The reward was the Shapeshifter subclass, and it was very difficult to beat, but my raid party completed it on their first run. When it was the boss's decision for me to take the subclass, my life changed: I was more frequently ordered to take longer shifts, and he would send his cronies to my family and 'ask' me to work late hours. Naturally I was very apprehensive, but at the same time, I felt a strange bond with my character, as it reminded me of my childhood fondness for stray animals in the slums. I quickly grew to become one of the strongest in my guild, so by the end I'd earned enough to leave and study abroad.
Despite the hard times I faced in that internet cafe, I was still attached to Log Horizon. I picked up the game again while in university, creating my own character this time, all for fun and to kill time, but my studies declined as a result. If I had not been magically transported inside the game, I would have had to face my midterm grades being mailed back home." ---

Kris took his smartphone with a curious and slightly fascinated expression, and immediately turned it on to examine this technological artifact. He grinned widely as he went through the settings; it appeared at least his had been jailbroken, and the network adapter had been swapped out for one with a built-in WiFi hotspot to connect with other nearby mobile devices. All he needed was to download a mobile VPN for all 3 phones, and communications with Angelo and Lily would be virtually invisible to bugs or hacks. Then he opened up the camera app, and messed around with old-school controls; back then you even had manual sliders for brightness and contrast. On a whim, he tested the results on himself with another old fad: the selfie.
Kris decided to wake up even earlier this Wednesday morning, whether unconsciously, or as he reassured himself, for the reason of meeting with Angelo before school to go over their plan. Before his half awake mind caught up to his body, he was out the door and halfway to school. He checked Lily's replies and nodded in approval before deleting the conversation, and finally stood outside the school gates, waiting...
@Caits Kris startled slightly when Lily bent down to hug him and then disappeared as she logged out. I wasn't even finished talking..., he thought, ah well I'll send her a message.
Before he finally hit the bunk, he sent it:
Kris - one last thing, are u in PE or a school sport? Kris - Angelo and I think the hacker is hiding a small tablet computer in their locker Kris - it would help if u could look around the girl's locker room for something like that Kris - just message me back what u find, i'll cover for u when i talk to Angelo about it
Yeah, she's right, Kris thought, it still won't stop me from thinking of him as Psycho, but I should give him credit where it's due.
He rose to his feet and started pacing back and forth, whipping his tail side to side. "If you know him this well, then do you think he values you as such? I'm saying that as much as he wants to keep you as a friend and Protoge, his understanding of that may not extend past the status quo. I assume you prefer to respect his distance, but isn't that just being afraid to get closer and risk hurting him? It is worth it though, in my wholehearted opinion, that whatever chip is on his shoulder he should be able to at least communicate to you what it is that causes him to act oddly. And I'm sure bodily harm is the least possible thought on his mind when it comes to you.
I think Angelo needs to learn the value of communicating with someone close to him, and know that someone is willing to help him every step of the way. I may be saying this and not acting upon it myself, but I feel I'm in a different position in Angelo's eyes, not to mention knowing him for only 2 days. But, I'm offering advice that I myself have thought of yet failed to follow before, and even further help, not out of any selfish interest except to improve my own relationship with both of you. If you want to help us with the hacker now, I will let you sidestep Angelo for the time being, as long as you keep this between us. Knowing him, he should be talking with you soon anyways."
Kris looked up at Lily, studying her expression, and curled his ears in response. He couldn't help but feel alone and ignorant of his seniors, both of which had troubling histories he couldn't begin to understand the wisdom derived from them.
