Just came back from being brutally, utterly wrecked at the 2016 Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival. Then nearly going broke after a full day at Disneyland.

Just placed 2nd with my robotics team at our tournament today. Only thing that kept us from 1st place was the dreaded L word: LAAAAAAAAAAAAG!!! T_T

What a day I've had! First a blackout no doubt caused by living near the Super Bowl stadium. Then a logical leap to work on my computer offline, aka clean a bit of dust inside only to nearly break it.

Bio

What's up people, here's my intro, just deal with it. B)

Anyways, this is my first time forum roleplaying, closest thing I've ever done to this would be chatroom Mafia and organizing a Facebook faction page for gameplay, besides IRL PnP RPing. However I'm quite prudent and dedicated to being online everyday just to check for posts and such. I'm also very (overly?) assertive when it comes to dealing with game mechanics and GM rulings, and I will raise issue with the GM when I find one that's loose, unsatisfactory, or missing (I may come off as a harsh critic at times, though offering an assistant GM role would help XD).

From what this site offers, I'm interested in joining up a Free, Casual, or Advanced Roleplay thread. Specifically I'm interested in:
- High fantasy
- Cyberpunk sci=fi
- Deeply conflict driven
- Anything idealist/philosophical bound (then broken)
- Based on character origin/progression
- But I'm willing to try anything else if it sparks my interest!

Well...I've skimmed the document, and my first impression is that it looks like you're trying to stuff a Pokemon VG style system into Digimon (especially reminds me of Hackmons). Just a bit too many stats for my personal taste, and though I understand a numerical MP gauge for techniques is tracked easier online versus PnP, I prefer spell slots simply because I dislike technique spam builds. The multi family "classing" can honestly get ridiculous for power gaming, and the group bias on features especially widens the gap between regular playable and distinctly powerful Digimon lines. It's really just a "create a class/monster" system right now rather than in the spirit of "no Digimon is useless/weak" I felt the anime liked to portray (unless you're allowing blatant exceptions like ZeedMilleniummon to be possible partners). Besides that, the Generation stat and its derivative system is solid, while the technique types are...again complicated to keep track of for the average DM picking this up but a decent concept.

Excuse me for being blunt, but having experience and partial breakdowns over attempting to power game extensive meta systems like DnD 4th edition, while trying to keep my characters original as possible, made me grow sick and tired of those games. I understand that you play tested a previous iteration with a group months before, and improvements probably have been made since then, so I'm certainly not putting down your dedication and effort. I'm offering my services as a technical adviser rather than full DM (I have little actual experience besides subbing for my play group a few times), though when the time comes I'd like to join the players as long as I'm not involved with story elements; this way I could give better feedback on your system and help improve it at least how you envision it, without over complicating it by the end.

By the way, my Digimon knowledge stems from briefly watching Adventures 1 & 2, Tamers, Data Squad, and Fusion, and also beating my Digimon World Dawn video game.
@NightmareInd Uhhh...more like only hardcore gamers and the well informed netizen know of its existence, and a few public forums have popped up with actual players contributing to them. "Just Google it."
@NightmareInd Posted in IC something more straightforward for you to follow. Since the game's now globally played, it's no longer much of a secret to keep from the general public.
"Of course I wasn't grumpy, you still underestimate the power of charisma," muttered Kris under his breath. Turning back to the brunette. he bade him in a somber tone, "You don't appear to have accelerated your world, but how should I know. Well new kid, maybe look things up if you want to get used to our school. Farewell for now, I'm off to catch the last bit of lunch served."

As Kris strolled out of the library, waving behind him, he wondered how much of the only hint he'd given about his double life, could go the distance with a complete stranger. Before putting away his phone, he texted one last message to Lily:

another tablet should be in locker rooms, hidden same way
if you find it in girl's, leave friendly message "we're coming for u"
"Hmph." It was all he could voice as Kris picked up the tablet, impressively and suspiciously well spotted by the brunette. Rebooting it from standby, he did a quick search through its contents and came up shorthanded as suspected; only the host server contained the bot program itself, while an infected computer only relayed commands. He pulled out the camera phone from his backpack and was surprised to find a new message by Psycho no less - at least someone today shared his appreciation for the antiques. Kris quickly texted back the tablet's make and model number, and added:

look up local sellers, someone needs replacement soon
stake out on your free time, i will be busy with technical issues

With an open flourish to acknowledge Angelo's attention, and possibly startle someone else, Kris slid the tablet into his backpack. "Thanks for your concern, as always, but aren't you late for soccer practice? No I do not need a Snickers." Kris flatly put to Lily, with an arched eyebrow for emphasis.
Kris stopped mid tune and swung his head around to face Sam again, a distinct look of boredom and disregard showing over his shoulder. Do I even look like I give a fuck, he smugly thought, but then again the location of the library did match up with one of the bots; the trick was to obtain help without triggering any unnecessary curiosity.

He reached out and half grabbed, half rested his hand on Lily's shoulder as she innocently passed by. Pointing at the concerned brunette he was about to tick off, Kris mouthed off to Lily, "Get a load of this kid. He THINKS there's a retro tablet in the library, what is that supposed to mean? There IS or there ISN'T, only a dumbass NEET (Not Educated or Employed in Technology) wouldn't be able to tell the difference between one and a fucking BOOK. You know what, I think he's one of those recent transfer students feeling grabby for attention. Hey kid, you're going to have to do better than that around here, actually SHOW me you're not just lying to my face after staring creepily at it for the last minute or so, okay?"

With that last line, he gave Sam his best sarcastic smile.
@NightmareInd Whatever you feel like doing, honestly. If you've read through the previous IC, maybe you noticed @Caits and I going at each other without any OOC prompt beforehand. I wouldn't mind having to deal with more freestyle, though unfortunately I can't guarantee you being worked into the general plot smoothly. I believe @Jangel13 may want to talk with you about the latter, as he deals more with storyline as a GM; I cover the technical aspects.
"Yeah I'm fine, probably just a case of the midterm blues..." Kris muttered in reply, still delirious. Then his expression perked up and he glared intensely at the brunette. "Have you seen a retro tablet lately, just around campus, I need to get to it before...oh never mind, of course you wouldn't have."

He casually shoved past Sam and walked down the hall with a limping gait, bracing one hand against the wall while keeping the other in his pocket. Hopefully Kris's brusque attitude coupled with the best weird act he could pull off would give the signal to ignore him. Still feeling giddy from battle, he started whistling Ode to Joy in an obnoxious, off tune.
@NightmareInd The setting's in California, USA, so no...
Alright @NightmareInd, you're finally up.
