Before you RP with me, I’d like to let you know of the following things:
1- English isn’t my mother tongue. I will make mistakes. Please forgive me.
2- Go as mature as you like or fade to black. I'll go with it as long as you tell me.
3- I prefer RPing through PM.
4- I will try to give you what you give me, as long as you give me something longer than a paragraph, please? I write ~3000 characters per post, depending on what you give me to respond to. Please also have good grammar and spelling. It's hard for me to get into a RP if there are constant, noticeable errors in your posts.
5- I much, much prefer playing the female and will only usually play male in MxM RPs or double ups. In the case of a double up, please DO NOT put more focus on one character pair and force me to drop my other character because you’ve forgotten about yours.
6- I like romance. I adore it in my RPs. It’s not necessary but I like it. A lot.
7- I'm 25 so I'd prefer someone at least 18 please. Otherwise it's uncomfortable.
Now that that’s over with… Onto my pairing cravings and plots! My ideas are very basic and could do with a lot of improving.
FANDOMS Harry Potter Percy Jackson Cardcaptor Sakura (though I don't know how you'd adapt this for OC's. If you have a good idea, I'm down)
After a lifetime of crime, a notorious thief's been in hiding. He had pulled off the biggest heists the world had ever seen. He stole priceless jewels, works of art, even fossils if there was a demand for them on the black market. But then he just disappeared without a trace. No new crimes popped up. No one knew his name and there were no witnesses to his crime. It was as if he had never existed. Settling in the heart of London, he lived a quiet life. He'd sworn off thievery, quitting before he got too cocky. And for the first time in a long time, he had friends. They know nothing of his dark past. He never spoke about it. None of them knew anything beyond what had happened in his life prior to London. But will he be able to resist the call of the thrills of crime?
She was his neighbour and close friend. An ordinary office worker. Or so he thought anyway. She lived a double life. A field agent for a top secret agency that only the top people at MI6 had ever even heard of, she was at the top of her game. She's been on this thief's case for a long time and, frustrated when nothing happened for a whole year and the trail growing cold, she and her team set up a trap they knew he couldn't resist. What happens when the two friends meet, time and time again, as enemies on the opposite sides of the law?
This will have scenes where they're normal civilians and at the scenes of his crimes. Romance etc. etc...
A mythical town is ruled over and protected by a dragon. She is the queen and its very matriarchal. Every year, she lays hundreds of eggs but mysteriously, they are all males so none can take over from her. The townspeople live in fear of her as she has been known to brutally kill neighbouring villages for settling too close to them.
Since she lays so many eggs, the townspeople have the option of travelling the dangerous path to her lair to retrieve one for their own. This is one of the only good things about having the Mother Dragon for a queen.
These dragons hatch and bond with their masters and mistresses. They'll eat just about anything but take on the characteristics of whatever has been eaten (e.g. Rocks will make it stronger but dumb it down and deer will make it faster but more easily startled.) No dragons but the queen has ever reached the level of intelligence needed for speech, since none of the animals fed to them can speak (see where this is going?) But one of our characters ends up with a female dragon egg before the queen has a chance to terminate the egg and ends up on the run to escape and eventually overthrow this terrifying queen.
Based on a not too well known fairy tale called Allerleirauh, recorded by the Brothers Grimm:
A king promises his dying wife to honour her dying wish. She asks that he only remarries if he can find one who is as beautiful and as kind as she. The King searches the lands to find someone to match his wife but finds that the only one that can is his daughter.
In order to escape, his daughter agrees to marry him if he can meet her every request. She asks for three gowns, one gold as the sun, one silver as the moon and one that sparkled with all the light of the stars. Along with her gowns, she asks for a cloak made from the fur of one of every creature found in his kingdom.
When he succeeds against expectations, she plans an escape with the four gifts, a ring, a hair pin and a family heirloom. The princess runs through the night, using the cloak as cover in the darkness and covering her fair skin in dirt so she isn't recognised. Somehow, she makes it to the neighbouring kingdom where the young prince finds her and names her Thousandfurs when she refuses to tell him her name. He gives her a place to work in his kitchens.
When the king holds a ball, she sneaks out and attends it in her silver dress. The prince dances with her, asking for her name and getting no answer. She slips away early. That evening, the cook orders her to make a soup for the prince and she puts her golden ring into it. The prince discovers it and questions the cook. He then questions Thousandfurs, but she reveals nothing.
The next ball, she again attends. This time, she wear her golden dress and again, the Prince finds her. When she is asked to make the soup again, she hides her hairpin. She again reveals nothing when questioned as Thousandfurs. By this point, the prince is desperate to know who the mystery princess is.
The third ball, she attends in her dress of stars. The prince dances with her, slipping a golden ring on her finger without her noticing it and orders that the last dance go on longer than usual. She is unable to get away in time to change, able only to throw her fur cloak over her clothing before she has to cook the soup.
When the prince questions her this time, he catches her hand and discovers the ring. When she tries to escape, her cloak slips and her shining dress is revealed. The prince proposes to her immediately, begging for the name of the girl that stole his heart.
I'd like to RP something based around this story, with our own twists and such. The only things that really need to stay the same is the three balls/parties and secret identities, really. We can talk about it
Not much of a plot. Just a small blurb for inspo, I guess. In their Super lives, our characters are enemies. One is a superhero and the other is their archnemesis. In their civilian lives, they're friends and roommates. Basically a rom-com. Could be swapped for rivals in two spy agencies too? Interesting situations when they come home injured or something.
Or you know, come to me with your own plot. What have you got to lose? Send me a PM
@BrightBlade I was briefly a maths tutor, during my years of uni. I decided teaching wasn’t for me either haha
@Stormflyx Journalism sounds far more interesting than accountancy. You’d think it would be fine but it’s very competitive. I don’t have any relevant experience outside of the classroom so it’s not easy to find a job. They’d have to train me at least a little.
Welcome Avery! What a lovely name, and a lovely profile picture too :)
Yep, the need for escapism this year is reeeeeal. What did you study at university?
If there's anything I can help you with, don't hesitate to ask!
Thank you!
I did Accountancy and Finance, the driest subject I think I could have chosen. Didn’t even get a chance to find a career in it before this all went down... oh well!
@Hyde I am fond of writing fantasy and slice of life stories but i also like to dip my toes into certain fandoms too when I’m roleplaying. I’m not looking for anything niche haha. Just want to work on character and world building I think :)
Hi everyone, how are you guys doing? My name is Avery, I’m 25 and I’ve been play-by-post role-playing since I was 15, probably. I started on a dress up site’s membership forum and pretty much never stopped, other than a few breaks when university got too much.
I’m just here for a bit of escapism. Isn’t everyone?
