Shawn lit up, almost like a giddy school boy, but that wasn't the right way to feel. It was just because she was being nice to him, even treating him like a man and not a "black" man. He had met his fair share of white folk who just looked down their nose at him and did not take him seriously at all, like he wasn't even human. He was human all right, with all the human-like feelings to boot. He smiled, scratched his head again and then bent down to retrieve his package of food Leroy had given to him.

"It would be my pleasure to escort you to the dress shop." He did feel a small amount of anxiety run up and down his veins. The new laws may in fact say that blacks and whites were allowed to be in the same place, work together and go to school together, but the dress shop was most likely run by an old fashioned white person who would not like him being there at all. Though, he could not be thrown out if he kept to himself and did not cause any trouble.

"You seem like a very kind lady. I gather from what you've said, that you are a school teacher? Your students are very lucky." He thought of his sister and frowned. "Truth be told, most of the little ones in my neighborhood still lack the proper school setting. They're parents are too afraid to send them where they might be picked on, or worse... " There was a few people in his neighborhood who took on the teaching roles. The children were taught in a small rundown shed outside someone's house. It lacked everything, but it was all they had.

"I work at a diner. You might know of it. It's only separated by one street from your schoolhouse." He looked down at the bag. "We have the best cheeseburgers in town, though that is my humble opinion because I do most of the cooking." He grinned. "After you change into a new dress, if you would like to join me for dinner, my home is that way." He pointed toward the black side of the neighborhood. "Not so far from here. My neighbors would gawk, but you would not find any trouble with them, ma'am. My sister is home, so it would be the three of us."

"If that isn't to your liking, I wouldn't mind letting you take this home with you." He would make do without the food and there was surely something at home his sister could eat.
"He's been better!" Sarah exclaimed. "Something new is starting to happen with her. She made him cry bloody tears, but the doctors could not find a reason for them, even going as far as saying it wasn't blood, but some weird thing that would probably never happen again."

Julia looked up from her book, her face pale. "The doctors momma takes us to are nothing but quacks." She pushed her nose back into her book, trembling slightly, growing more cold the longer she pretended to ignore Emily. The ghost did not like being ignored. Not at all. At the moment, the five year old could feel what felt like icy fingernails running up and down her spine, not hard enough to cause marks, but they were a little painful and just made her so very cold.

"I can't explain it," Nathan said, smacking away Sarah's hands as his sister tried to push him back down on the bed again. "Stop it, Sarah. I can sit up."

Sarah sighed. "Dummy. If I bled in a weird place like that I would stay in bed for ages."

"Wait until you're about eleven," Julia whispered.

"Huh?" Sarah and Nathan said at the same time.

Julia rolled her eyes at them. She knew a lot more than the average five year old because she read books nonstop and her parents did not sensor the kinds of books she could read.

"LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME!" Emily popped in and out of assistance, each time coming closer to the small group of children. Nathan squeezed his eyes shut. Sarah looked down at her stomach, and Julia pushed her nose further into her book. It was bad, really bad when they made eye contact with Emily.

"Fine. You'll be sorry," Emily said in a sing-song voice, before she started to sing an eerie old fashioned sounding lullaby. Instead of the normal lyrics, she added different ones, about pain, and torture, and the things she wanted to do to them and especially their parents. "Don't worry, little children, Emily won't really do you much harm. This is just a game. A game. A GAME! Play with me!"
“I don't know ma'am. I was not thinking about my own safety when I came to your aide. I would hope that the boys keep quiet. How would they explain what they were about to do to you? Surely, your ripped dress and injuries are proof enough. I dare say, at least two of the boys were only following the bigger one. If that bodes well for me or not, I could not say." He shook his head and looked down at his feet. "It may be in my favor that they did not get a good look at my face. I'm afraid things went way too far."

"Ma'am, they shouldn't come back, but would you want me to escort you home?” He looked at her feet and noticed her spilled bag of groceries. Her dinner by the looks of it.

"Oh dear, I've been rude. I'm Shawn Washington. It's very nice to meet you, but such a shame it could not have been under better circumstances." Though, how he would have met this woman under normal circumstances, he had no idea. She was very pretty. Probably had a line of suitors. Shawn shook the thought from his head. It was no use thinking about things like that.

“I have some dinner we could share,” he said, feeling a blush creep up onto his cheeks. "Uh- but I understand if that isn't to your liking. I mean... should I leave?" He scratched his head. "No... I really should walk you home, though that might looks strange to your neighbors. Oh dear, and what about your dress? How would that be explained?"

Look at me, a nearly thirty year old man stuttering like a fool around a pretty white girl. If my momma could see me know.
No worries!
"I trust I'm leaving the kingdom in good hands?" Elsa said. She was standing tall, with her hands clasped behind her back. A man and a woman were standing in front of her. They were in their 60s and had been Elsa's parent's advisers and now they were hers. She really did trust them. They were kind of like grandparents to her and Anna. She regreted how she had ignored them and Anna for so many years, but things were going to be changing. She would make sure of that.

"Everything is going to be fine, my queen."

Elsa smiled, before saying her farewells. She joined Anna and Kristoff in the hallways. They were all packed and eager to hit the road. She shook her head, holding in a laugh. Those two were really only just big kids. She hoped this journey would help them mature a little, because if something were to happen to Elsa, Anna and Kristoff would become king and queen.

"Anna, Kristoff...." Elsa looked beyond them outside the castle doors, where she saw their other party members waiting. "Olaf, Sven, let's make the most out of this trip."

"Yay!" Anna bounced up and down on the balls of her feet, before jumping on Kristoff's back and squeezing him in a bear hug. "Move, piggy back ride!"
No problem. The first few posts of a new rp can be a little off until ya get into the groove of things!
Bonnie grabbed her backpack off her canopy bed, dug around inside until she found her school issued sweater. She was still not used to having to wear only the clothes her new school deemed proper. The uniform, in her opinion was a little too trendy. Bonnie was used to wearing clothes that hid herself from the world. At least she could wear the sweater. She had purposely got it two sizes too big, so it hung down past her hips and made her feel a lot more comfortable.

At least I found a loophole in the crazy school uniform. Who wants to wear skirts all the time? Not to mention the itchy pantyhose... The pantyhose were optional, but to a girl like Bonnie, who was not on the up and up with fashion, she wore them because she was usually too lazy to shave her legs.

She called out a quiet farewell to her mother, but her mother was passed out cold on the living room couch, a bottle of vodka dangling from her fingers. Bonnie sighed. Figures. Her mother kept promising she would go to the AA meetings and quit drinking, but she always backed out of her word.
Several large books tucked under her arms, Bonnie casually strolled from her car toward the school courtyard. As usual, she was not really paying attention to the other girls. Everyone was in their own little groups, gossiping away, and just being... well annoying. She spared a glance when she heard some snickering, figuring that one of the girls were laughing at her. She was used to it, and was really taken aback when she realized the laughter was directed toward another girl. That was new. Could this girl be new too? From what another student told her, they did not get new students that often. It had been rare that Bonnie had been allowed in, but her good grades had apparently made her an ideal student.

Normally, Bonnie avoided talking to people she did not know, but she couldn't help the pang of guilt that was starting to eat up her stomach as she debated if she would go check on the newest new girl.

"Are you okay?" Bonnie asked, taking off after the girl as she watched her run into the school. She bit down on her lower lip, feeling a blush creep up onto her cheeks. Social interactions were always a little awkward for her. She hugged her books to her chest and looked at the girl for a minute, before her blush grew. "O-oh, sorry... I just... Welcome to Hellside Girl's College... I mean Northside. " Bonnie smiled. Hellside was something she called the school in her head.

Hello! Welcome to the forum. I'm also new here. It seems like a decent place, though. ;)
Hi. I have an interest check I posted here. (Beyond the Walls)

It might be something you'd like? It is in a fantasy setting. My character is human, female. Your character could be anything humanoid, male or female (I'm like F/F, too) One of my other characters is a male troll (and an ugly one at that) Trolls in this world are not bad creatures, but misunderstood and killed on sight, no questions asked. You could also play a troll, if you wanted. He's a nice guy, and I'm sure he's very handsome to the lady trolls (or men, whichever you prefer)

I'm on often and I like to chat in OOC and on skype, too if you wanted.

The first post is rather large. I got carried away trying to set things up. I normally post 3+ paragraphs.
It seems you have a lot of Harry Potter going on, but I thought I'd throw myself out there anyway.

You know in the last movies (if you saw them) they put in the scene where Ron leaves angrily and Harry tries to cheer Hermione up by dancing with her. <3 this scene. I always felt like they had way more chemistry together than Ron and Hermione (in the movies at least it is easier to see) and I also do not like the Harry and Ginny couple. I think the actors ruined it for me in the movie, because they had no chemistry in my opinion.

I would love to do something where I play Hermione and you Harry, and they are the ones to get together, not H/G or R/H.

I can double. Do you like Neville paired with any of the girls? I like him with Luna. I could also try to be Draco, but I think he'd end up being OOC. We can pair up Ron with Ginny for all I care lol (Kidding!)
