If playing The Sims for 13 hours straight isn't a productive weekend, then I don't know what is.
Likes: Skating, gum, causing trouble, getting away with causing said trouble, music, louder music, tattoos, piercings, hanging out on the swings at the park
Currently studying the complexities of paint peeling off a wall, referred to in some cultures as “unemployed”
Personality/Bio: Pen is a spunky girl with enough attitude for a handful of teenagers. She’s interested in anything that tickles her fancy, be it flirting, graffiti, stealing or anything that seems fun. Some of her favorite hobbies are teasing cuties and pissing off boring normies. Her hair seems like it changes color every week, maybe to match her mood or maybe she just keeps up with the date.
Everything about her family seemed to repress her. She always wanted to be a success but not because of “daddy’s money” but in spite of it. Alongside it, even. There was nothing she wanted to be more than a success, but she didn’t want it to be because of her family’s money. She wanted to carve her own way through the world and own it. At the age of 13, Pen lived with her friends most of the time but came come about 50% of her time off school and work but by the age of 16 she was basically moved out. They would see her on the weekends every now and then with just enough time for her to swoop in, throw her laundry in to clean and steal some food. She always made sure to have ample time to mess up her mother’s perfectly set up couch and put her feet on the coffee table. The longest she can be in the house is around an hour or two before there’s yelling, fighting, and slamming of doors. She tries to keep her visits as close to this time restraint as possible.
Her parents were the ones who had gotten her interested in music, paid for her to learn how to read sheet music, how to keep beat. They seemed so surprised when she claimed she wanted to pursue it, though. They had put so much pressure on her childhood self to learn and dedicate hours of work to perfecting the art and wanted her to suddenly drop it to go to college. She did not have their blessing, so she left.
It was the best decision she had ever made. Of course, she missed her little sister. She’d write songs to her sister in hopes that she’d listen. She’d pop in and torture her sister at all times possible, she even tried to dress her up and take her out. But, the girl was thoroughly brainwashed by her parents. It made her heart ache, the girl had so much potential but she just slid around the well-paved tracks that her parents had planned for her even before she was born.
The years she spent hopping city to city, putting on shows, looking for gigs, and mostly finding small jobs were the foundation of who she really was. She knew that she wasn’t some factory-made person, she was real and she personally made herself into who she is. Of course, their antics got them kicked out of stages, arenas, or even entire cities but they kept with it. Everything was going well until one of their members was thrown into jail and another quit because they thought he was the backbone. They were no strangers to replacing members, but it seemed like it was finally time to move on. The two left decided to go their own ways and hopefully join a more stable band. Pen often looks at her time as practising, auditioning for a real band.
And thus, she is brought to Shine City. Homeless, detested by her family, and nowhere to work she decides to go to a bigger city to work it all out. It was her last chance, plus, she was sure that she could bunk with her sister for awhile. Even though the bitch acted like she hated her, deep down in she could never turn her away.

Mimiko Breckenridge
Age: 19 Height: 180cm Weight: 65kg Likes: ‘Only the finest,’
Intelligent conversations, tea, vintage dolls, books (practically bibliophile), cats, bunnies, knitting and sewing her own clothes, flower and herb gardening, piano music, classic music, don’t tell but she likes EDM, daffodils, light blue, baking
Dislikes: ’I have a distaste for anything improper,’
Unmannerly conduct, public displays of affection, those who don’t keep promises, those who don’t follow the rules, senseless disobedience, loud racket, chewing gum, tardiness, children, sloppy speech, heavy or greasy food Party Trick: 'I do not want to brag, but I can make a flower bloom in a pot of tea. It’s quite beautiful,' Profession: ‘I’m a librarian, of course. I work part-time but hopefully I will be the head librarian one day. My dream job is to own my own bookstore-Café,’ Personality: Some may say she has a stick up her...well, you know but she doesn’t see it that way. Society has rules and it’s much simpler for everybody to get along if they are followed. If you must act like a barbarian, do not expect her to take a liking to you. If she corrects your grammar or syntax, think of it as a compliment and a way to say, ‘I love you and care about your education.’ Mimiko knows she’s picky, but she also knows that she’s worth it. She has been raised with a silver spoon so she may lack the integrity to work through difficult situations even if her parents were tough on her grades and activities. She’s a character that everyone loves to hate, the real challenge is finding something to like about her.
Background: Mimiko….Breckenridge. It doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue. Her parents decided to name their first child - her older sister - with a classic English name. The second would have a Japanese name in order to represent her mother’s culture. Interestingly enough, they lean toward the opposite cultures of their namesake.
Mimiko was raised on baby grand pianos with nannies and maids. Her sister slid down the curved railing at the last minute and caused trouble every morning while she had her nose stuffed in a book, waiting. She could not ever understand why Penelope refused to listen and cooperate, things went quickly and smoothly. This helped shape the way she acts and reacts in many situations with her peers.
She was always mature for her age which was further portrayed by her early height. People always mistook her for the older sister based both on action and size. Mimiko is unsure of which came first - was she mature because people thought she was larger and, therefore, older or was she always mature and simply enhanced the misconception with her size. Not that it mattered anyway.
In a way, it was a good thing that her parents never attended to her as she was allowed to choose her path as she wished. She loved ballet and water ballet when she was younger but lost interest as well as in piano. As much as she loved to hear the strings pluck inside, playing wasn’t her talent and she lacked rhythm.
As her childhood interests waned the velocity of her book reading picked up speed. She had always loved books but she found interest in a large span on categories. She became a voracious reader, the pages slipping through her fingers just long enough for her to digest the story and then moving along to yet another one. The library in her house was modest but she soon ran out of books that interested her within it. Her favourite books are classics and poetry books. She even dabbles in young adult sections every now and them - it is possible to find true gems.
She decided to come to Shine City to leave their gated community for something a bit more exciting and with more opportunity for her future business. She was enrolled in the Academy in a rather dull and normal process - grades, merits, and daddy’s help. Much was the way she was signed part-time with the library and received an open apartment more quickly than usual.
Desert works quite well but if you want to add some element of creepiness and lurking danger then any rainforest would work. Maybe on the mountains of India?
And with Tibet you can always allude to myths and creepy legends just to spoop some kids
