Current It's been three years since we lost Polymorpheus, a dear friend. It's felt like a lot longer, that time. I still think about Poly every so often, and how I miss them so very much. I won't forget them.

Bio

uhhhh, hi there

I am here and I sorta exist so yes this is my ‘bio’ and it will probably be rather brief and suck and be sloppy, just like me.
So, without further ado..

stuff about me

Most people call me Barti or Bart as well as a few other things since it’s just easier or meaner than the actual thing - I invite you to do so as well.

I’m a 23-year-old (bday June 20th!) Texan who enjoys thunderstorms and rain far too much, and likes anime, running, metal music, and copious amounts of DRUGS candy, among many other cool things - like DnD and MTG.

I enjoy group rps as well as 1x1s. For groups I have what I think is a decent array of interests, most of it being profusely weeb-y. I like Fantasystuffs (Modern especially), supernatural themes, pretty much all Japanese stuff - including historically accurate settings - as well as general dark/grim themes, comedic slice of life trash, academy rps, unique plots, etc. etc. As for 1x1s I pretty much do romance, but I can do non-romantic stuff too if you give me something to work with xP
The only genre I find myself not entirely comfortable with is really sci-fi stuff, but, if the plot/idea catches me enough it can hold my interest. Oh, and my writing level is high casual to low advanced.

I’m a sarcastic, snarky, bipolar-depressed, degenerate garbage can, but generally people seem to like me (I don’t know why in the hot hell you would) - but if you would also like to be my friendo lemme know.
I don’t bite.
Usually owo xd rawr

welppp...I guess that’s okay for now
thanks for reading, you potatoes

Casey could only hope that the friendly smile he felt on his features could transfer through whatever his face looked like - even though it was unlikely. Luckily for him, the young boy might notice the warping of his eyes that signified his joy and how his horns now curved forwards much akin to a rhino. He was glad the youngling had seemingly accepted his friendship.

In a show of good timing, another individual seemed to arrive - and she appeared just as hesitant as Casey had been moments before. He returned her wave, gently setting his other hand on the shoulder of the boy who now sheltered behind him. If only he could speak, things would be much easier. Who was this person? Was she in the same situation as them? Did she know any more? All questions he wished he could ask.

Instead, he simply kept the wave and waited for the others to speak themselves.
Raine Provostus

Raine lowered his weapon as the skull of the beast it had just pierced faded away into dust. His breathing was normal - not even a sigh of relief could be heard from him. He watched as the last particles of the creature floated down and vanished from sight. He looked around him, eyeing the visible rooftops before turning his gaze to his ally.

He was acting odd. Inspecting his hands, for some reason - which admittedly were visible trembling. Was it the adrenaline? Raine watched further as Victor stumbled backwards and- began to...laugh. It wasn’t a normal laugh - it did not sound like one derived from joy or happiness. It was one of those laughs that made Raine want to keep a sharp eye on the producer. It didn’t make him worry, per se. But it made him cautious; he always was around people who laughed like that. Laughter in itself was rare in Yharnam. Raine retightened the grip on his weapon.

The other hunter then displayed some sort of sign of insanity, approaching and then crashing his fist into a lamppost. Usually a sign of anger - but Provostus had no clue why he’d be angry after having defeated the beast. Soon enough though, his maniacal laughter died, and he turned back to face the direction of his allies - before vomiting.

Raine slowly stepped a few times to his left before turning away from the spot where the beast perished, and began approaching the elevator, weapon still in hand. They’d need to retrieve Adelicia and move fast.

The shadowy figure paused the wave of his hand as the boy turned his head away. As he did so, Casey felt a dull pang from him - a minuscule pull, like that of a thread tied to his finger. Though the feeling reminded him of himself somehow. It was a familiar feeling of.. fear? An odd emotion to feel familiar towards.

He stopped when his hesitant steps brought the two within ten feet or so of each other. The shadowy figure seemed to ponder the boy’s question for a moment. What was going on? He was in a place he didn’t know, covered in a black material he couldn't remove, and meeting a boy who shouldn’t be here by himself. He felt his heart try to jump in his chest as his mind raced to find an answer, but he tried to suppress the fear he could feel filling up his chest.

He tilted his head down and shook it slowly, trying to signify that he did not know the answer to the boy’s question. This would be so much easier if he could speak. He squeezed his stuffed dog. He paused, glancing at the toy under his arm, and then back to the kid. One never got too old for stuffed animals, right? He apparently hadn’t.

He gripped the animal’s fur in his right hand and then extended it out to the boy in an offering of peace. As he did, the lights in the hall flickered.

“Friend.” Casey felt the word pull against the inside of his skull. It was unexpected, and almost made him instinctually step backwards, but he stood in place. Little did he know, the boy would have heard the word too - no pull, or any other feeling, just simply the word - in what would be Casey’s voice, could he speak.

The shadowy figure seemed hesitant in his offer - he wasn’t sure if the kid would trust him - or even if he liked stuffed animals, but he hoped so. He also hoped he could find some paper and a pen to communicate with, soon. Didn’t seem right to not be able to answer the boy - he felt like he needed the interaction.

Rin accepted the briefing their leader presented them, wasting no time in skimming over it. A time crunch. A little unfortunate, but he’d always been able to work with what he’d been given.

He gave his sister a nudge on the arm from behind. “We’re prepared for this.” He assured her quietly. Meanwhile, he tucked the briefing into his pocket as he lifted his bow off his shoulder and over his head to wield it. It was a rather mundane weapon, but it was one he was comfortable with - and something he could reliably pull to its maximum weight of 80lbs., despite his relatively meager appearance.

“I’m ready” he said to nobody in particular. If there were no other interruptions, he would then make his way out of the room and back into the warehouse - and Zero Time.

His nose crinkled once again as he breached the confines of indoors - heavier rainfall wasn’t far off. He raised his hood, shadowing his face as he caught the thickening droplets with his tail once more.

Father Onassis stood to meet the briefing that Maylis handed out, nodding politely as he took it. He remained standing as his eyes ran over the information. And interesting information it was, indeed. A soul-vein absorbing monster and Zero Time discrepancies. They’d have to hustle, were they to accomplish their desired task.

“I do hope the lot of us are prepared for this, Madam Maylis.” He said, hoisting the satchel he carried at his side. Within it sat several unmarked, as well as some intricately marked, plastic plates - alongside a number of materials to mark them; markers, pencils, chalk, etc. “As normal, I shall do my best to defend you all.”
@Dark Jack Good by me! ^^ that bit at the end is so cool btw c:

His eyes snapped open as the sound of an alarm met his ears. But it was still dark. Feeling a hint of panic, the boy tried to strain his eyes, reaching up and touching his face - before realizing he had a sleepmask over his eyes; he slipped it up onto his forehead. He stared up at the ceiling, blinking as the warbling cacophony interrupted the rushing thoughts of his freshly awoken consciousness. He turned his head to the left as he laid flat on his back upon his bed, seeing now that he was in a stark white room, with very little decorating its interior. Where was he? He tried to recall how he got into this room, to no avail.

He pushed his arm against the bed, propping himself up so he could get a better view of his surroundings. Except, there was something off. He looked at his arm, and his heart jumped. He swatted at his arm with his other, pushing himself back against the corner his bed was situated into, only to see that his other hand was covered in an inky black material as well. He tried to shout as he attempted to smack and claw the blackness away from his body, only to find himself accomplishing nothing - he couldn’t speak. His silent breath was ragged as he held his arms out in front of him, away from his body as he tried to distance himself from this ichor intrusion that he found attached to him body. He found himself noiselessly hyperventilating as he stared at the wisps curling and slowly crawling around the blackness of his arm as his knees pressed against his chest. He looked at the backs of his hands for what seemed like forever, until he heard the wails of the alarm die down.

He moved his finger, slowly. It moved as he willed it. He tried to close his hand. It became a fist. He joined his hands together. The touch was dull, but he could feel it nonetheless.

W-what...is going on..

The boy moved his hands to the bed and pushed himself off, landing lightly next to it. He looked down, and his feet were also covered in the inky blackness as his arms were. He reached up and pulled at his shirt - underneath it, more shadow. It sent chills up his spine. It didn’t feel uncomfortable - in fact he felt physically well - but it...didn’t seem normal. And he couldn’t remember how this stuff had got all over him.

He paused as the lights flickered. Was there some sort of power outage? Speaking of his clothes - whose were these? Not his, surely. And--

He looked at his hands again - they had squarish, metallic bracelets on them. Why? There was one on his neck too.

His eyes scanned the room, one thing in particular catching his eye. Upon the nearby desk there was a plushie. A stuffed dog. He grabbed it - it was pretty, and made him slightly more comfortable just holding it. He clutched it under his arm.

The boy looked towards the only exit to the room, an open doorway with the door shuttered into the wall. This place was so completely foreign. He tentatively stepped towards the door, feeling his hands quiver as he did. He tried to control his breathing, but it was difficult. He stopped just before reaching the doorway, tentatively putting a hand on the doorframe as his other clutched the dog.

And then he heard a voice. ”Hello? Is anybody there?”

It was a young voice. He hesitated, before making himself peek out in the direction of the voice. There was the stark white hall - and there was a boy. A very young boy. Why was here? Where were all the other people?

He slowly, hesitantly, stepped out of the doorway and into the hall facing the boy, the dog plushie clutched tightly under his shadowy arm as his left held onto the doorway. He tried to speak out to him - but yet again to no avail. He couldn’t talk. He took hesitant steps towards the boy as he held his hand up in an awkward wave.
