It suddenly felt odd. After everything he had just witnessed, everything he had just watched another student go through, and the source of intervention. It was all strange, and it made him wonder if Oliver had seen any of this coming. Ayden knew that Oliver's visions were very abstract and unclear, but there had to have been some way to know what he was seeing. Something big was going to happen, and Ayden knew it. The demonic witch community was growing, and after the incident last year, Ayden could only hope that it didn't happen again. Especially to Madelyn who he now knew was bound to Lia's father.
To be honest, the summoned scared him shitless. He had met one who had been freed once, and they weren't exactly like he was... they were set on world domination. Lucifer had stepped in though, one of the few times Ayden had ever known him to, but his thoughts were silenced when Cadence came over with a smile. "Come on, pretty boy," she said as the slow song came on more clearly. "Dance with me."
"Okay." He said, and as they made their way out to the dancefloor, Ayden half expected to see Chris danci mg with Lia, like he normally did, but this time he was dancing with a succubus... And Lia was dancing with this mystery man, her eyes bright and her necklace giving off a warm glow. It was odd, but Cadence distracted him.
"So, flamey pants, where have you been? You missed the funniest thing." Her voice came and he just shrugged.
"I went to visit with Oliver." He answered her and she nodded, her face moving by his ear and she chuckled.
"Well, Arik told us otherwise." She breathed, and he looked to her. "Of course, we know whose side to take because Rose and Lily would make us dinner if we didn't know where to stand. You're lucky Lia has a soft spot for other branded demons."
He shrugged and smirked. "How about we just dance, hm?"
Lia had to admit that it was nice to have a civil conversation, and his innocence and curiosity kept her smiling. As much as she wanted to hide it, she couldn't, and it explained a lot more to her. However, when he asked about home, she looked away momentarily. "Home, home is a foreign concept to me. I plan to return to human society and do what I can there so Lucifer won't try to come out of hell again." She said. Lucifer was their king, and she had met him once. It was why she had two hounds because Lily came from a litter his hounds had. Hence why of the two Lily was more loyal to her, and why Rose would leave her side as wherre Lily almost never did.
When his hand outstretched to her as the song changed, her eyes looked up to him and her pendant took on a slightly brighter glow. Leave it to an angelic type to appease her own angelic half, but she knew he would. Sweet angels, even fallen from grace, were sometimes dangerous for her psyche. Just like her father. All he had to do was show himself and her mother's angelic genes kicked I to overdrive. It was a down fall of it, but angelic beings also made her want to show that side. And when an entire school believed you were full demon, that wasn't good.
Still, she took him hand. "Alright, let's see how good you are, Zephaniah." She said, and when they began dancing she found herself pleasantly surprised by it. It made her smile return and as she danced with him, she commented. "You're very light on your feet. Leave it to a gentlemanly sort to be like that." She said, and her eyes finally showed their real color, a beautiful shade of teal green that was only so dark because of her insistemce to hide how different she was.
"So, what was it like?" She asked him. "Your home."
