It became almost instantly quieter when Ayden left the group of demons, but Lia didn't mind much as she leaned back against Arik. Ayden, though the two understood each other and were friends, asked far too many questions for her liking. Especially about her brand. It was in the oldest of demon dialect, but her father had insisted that her brand be in that dialect because most creatures couldn't read it. Demonic Angel. It was her brand because that was what she was, and her powers, they were very broad spectrum, butshe was bound to be one of the most unstable breeds in the school because she was half purity and half darkness. Her eyes danced over the fire, but Arik spoke finally. "Why do you let Ayden hang with us, Ophelia?" He asked. Two mistakes were made, one was asking about Ayden, the second was calling her Ophelia.
"I need eye candy, Arik. Lucifier knows you aren't." She commented, and she got a few laughs, but Arik became steamed. She could see his eyes darkening, but before her mind shifted, Luca's hand came under her chin. For the first time, she was actually HAPPY to see him. His words caused her to smirk. "Well, glaring is warranted most of the time, baby doll." Her sarcastic tone dripped, but Arik pulled her shoulders back.
It caused a minor shift, and her pendant glowed slightly, in an attempt to keep her balanced, but Arik hissed and backed away. "What the hell, Lia? Why are you being like this?"
"Don't make me call Rose and Lily. You know how much my hounds LOVE fresh meat." She hissed. "Leave, Arik. Besides, I am not, and never will be yours. Luca stands a better chance than you, and let's face it, we all know I don't do the whole player game." She hissed, and when Arik sauntered off, she calmed, and her.pendant returned to normal, and she stood up, to meet Luca at eye level. She gave a smirk.
"Well, doll, so not to glare, let's go find something to drink, hmm?" She suggested, her eyes traveling over Luca. He was gorgeous, as all vampires were, but a perk to her angel half, immunity to allure and mind powers. She loved that, but more importantly, it gave her an edge. She wouldn't be like other girls who could fall under the spell easily, she was a chase, and a hard one too. She normally remained shut off, and for her to be so social was odd. However, it was one of her angelic personality traits coming through... A need to observe and understand.
Lia saw the other two demons, twins, watch her. "What if he comes back?" The female asked, and Lia shrugged.
"Don't care. I'm not his keeper." She said, and when she went to walk away, she spoke again. "But if Ayd comes back through, tell him to light Arik's ass on fire."
"Got is, Lia." The male said. Lia smirked again before tapping Luca in his arm.
"You know, unless you have better plans, like finding another sleazy girl to add to your list." Lia said, walking off, not bothering to see if he was following as she entered the ballroom. The music was nice, had a good beat, but she headed to the corner, and when she got to the group, they stopped. "Can I get a drink?"
"Finally, Lia lets loose." Silva, one of the seniors, a vampire at that, said. Silva was gorgeous, and one of the fee non demons that Lia had associated with. The girl handed her a cup, and Lia nodded.
"Thanks, Silva. I will remember this." She winked, downing the cup before she headed out onto the dancefloor and let herself get lost in the beat.
Ayden had found himself dawdling as he headed towards the cafe. It wasn't odd for people like him to be an outcast, especially here. He wasn't like a demon in the sense of looks or powers, and he wasn't as broad as an elementalist. He was weird, but he didn't mind because it made him a few good and real friends. Lia, the twins Chris and Cadence, and a seer named Oliver. Chris and Cadence were demons, both of them normals, but they weren't like Arik and had Ram horns, they each carried more reptilian traits, but had found a potion that gave them regular appearance, aside from snake like eyes. And Oliver was reclusive, and he would likely be his next stop.
He made his way into the cafe, and after getting some very hot tea, he sat at a table, and much to his surprise, he saw the girl again. She was definitely beautiful, but something about her seemed odd. He took his tea, and approached her, and looked at her. "You know, a pretty girl like you is bound to be noticed missing at such a large party." He said to her. He finished up his tea, and placed the cup on one of the trays nearby.
He found himself leaning against a chair before long, and he looked her over again before pushing off the chair and smiling. "Well, enjoy your evening. I hope to see you around." He said with a wink before heading out towards the dorm rooms. He was going to see Oliver, someone he hadn't seen in a while. He liked to converse with him, but Oliver didn't hang around much because of Lia. He said once that she unsettled him.
Finally he got to the door and knocked. "Its Ayden."
"Come in." A voice called out, and Ayden entered the dark room. Of everyone in the school, Oliver was the most human because he was essentially just a clairvoyant who was never wrong. Seers were rare, and the school always kept them safe because their messages were vague, but true.
(Ayden's will get longer, I promise, just lost my other page. =/)
