Also important announcement: if your character is going to be Gold or Green Leader, their rank will have to be Flying Lieutenant. My Ghost Leader will be Squadron Leader.
@PrinceAlexus What do you mean, wrong class? If he could fly a plane, he could fly a bloody plane - it wouldn't matter what social class he came from. The British had already learnt their lessons about officer competence from World War I. However, someone with a college degree or middle-class background at the very least had a bit of an advantage over the average British farmer or factory worker in terms of being eligible for aircrew service.

I mean, ground crew being pulled for air duties isn't entirely unrealistic, but he would be assigned to an ordinary squadron. Turin Squadron has the liberty of recruiting from less desperate sources.
@Oak7ree You should expand on this in your CS, especially on specific themes in these kinds of horror literature - perhaps H.G Wells' War on the Worlds fueled Arthur's curiosity about extraterrestrial life? (etc, etc.)
@Oak7ree Very good CS! His willingness to accept the existence of life other than humans in the universe makes him a prime candidate for a Leader. However, could you elaborate on what kind of horror literature he liked? The time period has a lot of specific examples to choose from.
@Dusty That's fine. Your CS is pretty good as is, and the format of your Psych Evaluation is a stellar example of how I wanted it to be, though I may have to drop him down to Green One. Lob it into the CS tab.

@Voltus_Ventus Most of the French that happened to be rescued at Dunkirk were quarantined. If your character is French or Polish, he could have fled to the UK pre-Dunkirk and witnessed a little of what the Germans had released (you can PM me for further details). An important note: Polish pilots were some of the most experienced in the war, having had hundreds of flying hours and defending the German invasion in 1939 (where your character could have experienced a smattering of eldritch shenanigans).

And as for what's going on in the other colonies, as with the real world timeline nothing much though the Japs could be up to something.
The thing is, where did he get his feral desires? Did he grow up in an abusive family? Has he ever killed a living being, even an animal? He's going to have to be a slight cut above the average gung-ho bloodthirsty country bumpkin if he's going to go up against literal god-spawn of Cthulhu the dark lord himself really spooky eldritch horrors.

@Dusty Just a clarification - is your CS final? Also, the aversion to chemical wounds thing is a bit of a red flag for your eligibility as leader. We're going to see some nasty stuff in battle, and as wing leader you're supposed to keep your cool through the icky and gory things when nobody else is. You could remedy this by elaborating on how your character is a self-proclaimed killer, seeing as he hasn't actually killed anyone before, given his bio.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: I am looking for a co-GM or two, in case I have any sudden bouts of inactivity.
“That depends on the length of the speech. If it is a ten-minute speech it takes me all of two weeks to prepare it; if it is a half-hour speech it takes me a week; if I can talk as long as I want to it requires no preparation at all. I am ready now.”
Woodrow Wilson, on the length of time it takes to prepare his speeches

@Oak7ree Whoops, I forgot to say that my character will be Ghost Leader, so sorry about that :( but you can be Gold or Green Leader. I just need to see your CS first. And I think it's best that you refrain from any unusual markings on your plane, for secrecy purposes and for other shenanigans later

@PrinceAlexus There are a lot more interesting nuances and tidbits if you study the mythos itself, but for the most part you're all set.
@Dusty You have a very valid point, and I struggled a lot with that when I first made the concept. However, most veteran pilots would have been assigned to the Dunkirk evacuation, where even those who survived physically did not mentally. That's a majority of the experienced section of the RAF out of service. In addition, many new pilots were recruited specifically for the Battle of Britain itself. A severe shortage of pilots led to many new recruits entering battle with only ten hours of flight time - your character graduating from a proper flying school with a sufficient number of hours, let alone with honors, is already an elite achievement by the standards of the time.

Important note for all: your character could have graduated years ago, but have never been sent into actual combat.

Also, Dunkirk was the first major military operation in WW2 for the British - I don't see where else your character could have had pre-WW2 experience except in a far-off desert colony or two.

Plus, knowing what happened at Dunkirk would significantly take away from the first half of the RP - there is an element of mystery within all of Lovecraft's tales, after all.

Your CS is excellent as of now - your Psych Evaluation is exactly what I was looking for. However, you can only go up to Green Three for a callsign.

I will get to everyone else's questions when I have more time.
