Based on what is posted I understand that you are still brainstorming ideas. A few questions that comes to mind for me is what was the last shinobi war fought over? Who started it? Did any clear winners or losers come out of the war which is the cause for the string of murders?

That's correct. This is just a blurb of sorts to set the tone and hopefully draw some interest. As for lore and backstory, I have some core ideas but I'm malleable and willing to change most. If any of you are interested in filling the gaps and co-heading this, feel free to hit me up.

Throwing a bit of interest. What are you thinking in terms of abilities? Any limits to what we'd be able to choose?

Villages to choose from? This I ask as you've said the Hokage (Kakashi?) gave us the mission.

For starters, I am thinking Konoha. And yes, there will be some limits (to make sure there’s space for growth and to avoid any powerplay). And no canon characters will be present (nor will they ever have existed).

Naruto: Bonds of Hatred

Premise

More than a decade has passed since the last Shinobi War, an especially gruesome conflict which left most of the known world in shambles. Since then, the villages have been trying to make amends, hoping to maintain the peace and ensure that history does not repeat itself. That is, until a string of murders shook them to the core. The common denominator: the victims were all famed veterans of the war, hailing from either of the Five Great Shinobi Countries.

Now, as history does seem to repeat itself, there is you: chūnin, a capable shinobi in your own right, but do you truly have what it takes to face down the demons of the past? The Hokage seems to think so, as he has something very special in store for you.

But beware, for all is not as it seems, and even the most peaceful of times are built on the foundations of innocent lives lost.

Timeline

The RP will be set in a timeline of its own, different from the canon in certain respects and similar in others. The characters, however, will all be original.

Now, I am looking for collaborators, people who will help me build and populate this little world of my—I mean, Masashi Kishimoto’s making. This will be a people-friendly RP, one in which I will try my darndest to accommodate everyone's needs and desires... however outlandish they may be. Feel free to show some love and/or interest.
