Carver and Manny might be jumping the gun on that front.

No harm in that! You'll get a chance to change your plans once you learn more about the hive anyway.
Once we've located the hive and ascertained their strength, we can then form a plan to destroy them.
For this mission you should look at the Op map located on the contract, and decide what units to send where. Whether you will be dividing your forces for a quick recon, or keep your forces together for a slower search. Companies can be divided if need be, with each company made up of two platoons, and each platoon made up of four squads.

As I understand it we have...

Mannys Mechs
2 Troop Companies
5 mechs
1 frigate

NBCM
1 tank
1 medical team
1 frigate

LMG
1 Aerofighter

Colonial Militia
1 troop company

VS

insectoid hive of unknown strength
Fire will kill 'em. Wouldn't say they're especially weak to it, but they don't like it.

President Korvig

Good morning, Commanders.

I believe I echo all your sentiments when I say that I want this bug hunt done by the numbers. The Bernard Colonial Government is basically a proxy for the Outer Rim Exploitative Corporation. These are some major players in the fringe systems, and if we do right by them, we can get some serious opportunities ahead of us. Koatev is a major refinery station for the ORE, and if we botch this, expect tylium prices to go through the roof.

I suggest Commander Davidson takes the lead, given Manny's Mechs are providing the muscle for this op, while Commander Nought provides support. I wouldn't rely on the local militia overly much as well. We're the professionals. Anyway, ERIS is standing by to provide logistical support and our contact with the Bernard Militia is patched into the battlenet. Relay your orders to your officers and get this job done.

Good luck, people.

Korvig out.

ERIS just bitched me out for not being active enough here on the forum... So whatever. I'm here. Check out my dossier and you'll know what I'm about.

Peace.

Howdy, y'all. Its good to see you Federation folks are coming 'round to help us out. I've uploaded the particulars into the Battlenet. Should give you all the info you need for the op. I'm around if you need me, anyways.

Later.

Pirates Increase Attacks In Alpha Centauri

2995.10.19.

Alpha Centauri - Pirate activity in the Alpha Centauri System continues to plague economic interests in the star system. Alpha Centauri, a vital trade thoroughfare to Sol has been the target of pirates these past few months. Federation forces assisted Imperial Security last month and engaged the pirates in an ambush in orbit above Aldren, the first moon of Armstrong.

Though the operation was a success, most of the pirate warships were able to escape the battle, and according to the Armstrong Colonial Government, continue to terrorize trade routes in the system. Imperial Security Forces captured over seventy pirates during the operation, and had hoped to gain valuable intel on the pirates base of operations.

IMPSEC has not released any information regarding the outcome of prisoner interrogations, but Director Baines did release a statement saying they were "closing in on pirate networks operating in the system." Baines went on to say that he would keep the Federation in mind regarding any further operations in quelling the pirates.

For now all the Federation can do is wait and see.

Read you five by five, Manny. Dusting off and enroute for pick up. I'll take ten percent... but if one of those fracking critters scratches up my paint job, you can bet I'll want more.
