For this mission you should look at the Op map located on the contract, and decide what units to send where. Whether you will be dividing your forces for a quick recon, or keep your forces together for a slower search. Companies can be divided if need be, with each company made up of two platoons, and each platoon made up of four squads.
I believe I echo all your sentiments when I say that I want this bug hunt done by the numbers. The Bernard Colonial Government is basically a proxy for the Outer Rim Exploitative Corporation. These are some major players in the fringe systems, and if we do right by them, we can get some serious opportunities ahead of us. Koatev is a major refinery station for the ORE, and if we botch this, expect tylium prices to go through the roof.
I suggest Commander Davidson takes the lead, given Manny's Mechs are providing the muscle for this op, while Commander Nought provides support. I wouldn't rely on the local militia overly much as well. We're the professionals. Anyway, ERIS is standing by to provide logistical support and our contact with the Bernard Militia is patched into the battlenet. Relay your orders to your officers and get this job done.
Objective Infiltrate the Akiov Research Station in orbit of the Burnell Pulsar. Download encrypted files and upload to HI servers.
Brief The Akiov research station, approximately 12.2 ls out from the Burnell Pulsar, is believed to be carrying stolen data from Hughes Industries. Board the vessel undetected, gain access to the station control room, and download the contents of their secure server. Once completed, upload all data to Hughes Industries.
Our contact in Hughes Industries stresses the need for discretion. If you are discovered, it is likely to blowback on your employer. How you maintain this discretion is up to you. E.R.I.S. can offer logistical assistance on this mission.
Upon completion of this contract 6,000mc will be deposited to your account.
Howdy, y'all. Its good to see you Federation folks are coming 'round to help us out. I've uploaded the particulars into the Battlenet. Should give you all the info you need for the op. I'm around if you need me, anyways.
Later.

Open Contract Pays 3,000mc
Objective Determine the location of an insectoid hive believed to be near the settlement of Koav's Landing and eliminate it.
Brief
Koav's Landing, File Photo
The Bernard Colonial Government is requesting assistance eliminating an insectoid infestation within the Koatev Colony. There have been a total of four incidents and eight deaths. The attacks have occurred in the areas surrounding the settlement, more predominantly in Skillae Ridge.
The area surrounding Koav's Landing
Intel suggests that Koatev is a popular stop for drug runners passing through from the Helix Nova System, and may have brought bugs with them along the way, causing the infestation.
This is a standard seek and destroy operation. Once companies make landfall, a sweep of the area should be conducted to determine the location of the hive. Marshal Ricks can provide further assistance on site, as well as the Bernard Colonial Militia.
Upon completion of the contract, participating companies will be awarded 3,000mc.

Alpha Centauri - Pirate activity in the Alpha Centauri System continues to plague economic interests in the star system. Alpha Centauri, a vital trade thoroughfare to Sol has been the target of pirates these past few months. Federation forces assisted Imperial Security last month and engaged the pirates in an ambush in orbit above Aldren, the first moon of Armstrong.
IMPSEC engaging pirate fighters above Aldren
Though the operation was a success, most of the pirate warships were able to escape the battle, and according to the Armstrong Colonial Government, continue to terrorize trade routes in the system. Imperial Security Forces captured over seventy pirates during the operation, and had hoped to gain valuable intel on the pirates base of operations.
IMPSEC has not released any information regarding the outcome of prisoner interrogations, but Director Baines did release a statement saying they were "closing in on pirate networks operating in the system." Baines went on to say that he would keep the Federation in mind regarding any further operations in quelling the pirates.
For now all the Federation can do is wait and see.
Read you five by five, Manny. Dusting off and enroute for pick up. I'll take ten percent... but if one of those fracking critters scratches up my paint job, you can bet I'll want more.
