[A live scene of troopers and mech support pushing back insectoid drones.]
21:05 <ERIS> SITREP: Our forces have converged with the militia and are engaging the drones at the conservatory. 21:06 <ERIS> Alert! A small horde is emerging from the hole. I estimate 500 insectoid soldiers breaking off in two groups and advancing on the conservatory from the north and south.
21:06 <ERIS> Be advised, soldier castes have been known to discharge spines at airborne targets. Use caution Viper One.

<ERIS> Incoming transmission from advanced militia squads. Patching it through.
*Psshk!* "This is second squad we're... [Drowned out by gunfire] ...can't pull back! Need immediate assistance! Over!" *Psshk!*
<ERIS> Those marines will be overrun unless help gets there quick. It's interesting that the insectoids are using drones as frontline troops, rather then the typical soldier castes. It would appear that this is a very young hive, or perhaps this sinkhole caught the bugs off guard, as well as us.

<ERIS> SITREP: Forces have touched down at the Militia HQ and advanced to a square, establishing a triage. Militia forces have two squads in danger of being overrun at the conservatory. Marshall Ricks and the remainder of the militia company are moving in to assist.
Incoming transmission...
*Psshhk!* "Viper to Command. I have a visual on the militia squads. There's a mass of drones barreling down on them. At least a hundred of them. Commencing strafing runs now. Over." *Psshhk!*
<ERIS> Ricks and his company will be about even strength with the incoming bugs. We could provide assistance, advance to the sinkhole, or divide our forces and do both. Awaiting orders, Commanders.
"Helltop here. Transports are enroute to Koav's landing. Thirty seconds out. Over."
*Psshk!*
"Ricks to Helltop, solid copy. Be advised, the moisture farm has been overrun. Militia forces are marshaling at the Militia HQ. Would love some company. Over."
*Psshk!*
"Helltop to Ricks. Copy that. Bringing my birds in low. Give them hell, marines!"

[A scene of overwhelming Federation fire power, picking off a small number of Insectoids.]
<ERIS> Fire teams have led a group of three insectoids into an ambush and eliminated them. A tunnel network has been discovered with signs of being a former hive.
<ERIS> Alert! I am receiving a distress call from Koav's Landing.
*Psshkk!*
"Ricks to Federation, we are under attack! The ground just started to shake, and a sinkhole formed by the moisture farm! Now bugs are pouring out! We need immediate assistance, over!"
<ERIS> A SITREP from troops in the Broen Mountains has arrived. It has indicated the southern mine is clear. Units now moving north to investigate the northern mine.
Well sir, 8 folks got killed, and Murl and his crew are missing. Most were in Skillae Ridge. Nothing lives in the mountains, but the foothills teem with geeks, or centaurian geckos as you might know them. Now that I think about it, I haven't seen one in a while.
I'd say scouting on foot is our only option, Commander, unless of course you plan on sitting on your thumbs and waiting for the next bug attack.
If y'all planing to go to the mines, I doubt your mechs would be much good to ya - all those narrow tunnels, ya see. But what do I know. I spend my days nabbing drug runners and breaking up bar fights. Y'all the experts.
